From Human to Skeleton: Revived with Infinite System Crystals
Chapter 839 - 839: The Stamp Arrived After The Wrist
The band had reached the door before the bone did.
Ty kept reading the line until the words stopped trying to become relief and became work. His finger came second. That mattered. It took one clean knife away from Zunoder and left twenty dirtier ones on the table.
Omina kept her palm on the page.
"Sequence stays separate from blame until the authority chain opens."
Zunoder accepted the warning with the kind of patience people used when they believed patience itself counted as dignity.
"The band carrying borrowed access may move this from theft into emergency transfer."
JJ's pencil scraped once.
"Emergency transfer is a lovely coat for a body-shaped problem."
Heissman looked at the transfer tray line again.
"Borrowed access needs an authorizing stamp. The stamp should say where the access came from, even if the handler face stays sealed."
Omina lifted her hand from the page.
"Stamp facts only. No child name. No handler face. No title conclusion."
The drawer accepted stamp facts.
It tried to keep title conclusion warm at the edge.
Ty's ankle noticed.
Yun-Jin noticed Ty noticing.
"The title line is still pulling through his leg."
Omina added the pressure to the margin before the drawer could make a cleaner version.
"Subject pressure attached to title conclusion, not stamp request."
The drawer accepted that with low weight.
Low weight had started to sound like grudging honesty.
Jade's feed stayed low on the shelter floor. Someone off camera moved a chair. A child coughed once, and every adult on the feed pretended that sound had no evidentiary value.
Ty respected them for that.
He kept his eyes on the page.
The stamp line opened.
Emergency overflow authority.
No office name came with it.
Omina tapped the blank place beside the authority line.
"Which overflow desk issued the authority for this band?"
The drawer gave the next fact.
Mercy General pediatrics.
Heissman's mouth tightened.
"That explains how the band entered the hospital transfer lane. The sealed-item access still needs its own trail."
Zunoder turned the new fact with care.
"A hospital overflow stamp can carry emergency movement authority during mass casualty routing."
"Movement authority gets the band through a hospital hall," Omina said. "A separate authority trail walks it to a sealed door."
Ty felt the missing finger ease by a fraction. It was too small for relief, only proof that the room could refuse one shortcut and still breathe.
The drawer opened another line before Zunoder answered.
Cross-route stamp added.
Heissman's face changed.
That scared Ty more than Zunoder smiling.
JJ saw it too.
"Use the face you have right now and tell us why that line made it worse."
Heissman kept his eyes on the page.
"Movement authority and cross-route authority should arrive together if the transfer was planned."
Mara turned toward him.
"Tell the room what it means if they arrived apart."
"Then someone added a bridge after the band left the normal route."
Omina wrote bridge added after route departure. The drawer fought the phrase until she pressed her pen harder and changed nothing. It accepted with low weight.
Ty read the line twice. The words had no monster in them. No door voice. No title. No grand old evil stepping into the room. That made them easier to file and harder to hate.
Someone had added a bridge after the band left the normal route, and a bridge had a builder.
Jade's voice came through the tablet.
"Can the original scan show when the bridge appeared without showing the name?"
Caelin's office went still in its little square.
His aide looked at him first this time.
Caelin said, "Public office can request the time fields without opening names."
Zunoder answered immediately.
"Public office involvement risks contaminating a sealed child record."
Jade kept the camera low.
"Then let my shelter request it as child-protection party."
Omina looked toward the feed.
"That risks the file treating your room as custodian of the band."
Waddell said, "We are not becoming a shelf for old hospital tricks."
The drawer liked custodian.
Ty felt it in his wrist.
He spoke before it could gather weight.
"The review asks for time fields. The child-protection parties receive the result, not the burden."
Omina looked at him for one breath, then wrote exactly that.
Zunoder studied Ty.
"You are learning procedure faster than this room expected."
Ty kept his hand open on purpose.
"I am learning where the procedure bites first."
The drawer accepted the review request.
The cost printed as delay weight if time fields proved irrelevant.
Omina accepted it.
JJ made a small mark beside her own page.
"Put delay weight on the office that made everyone count time with missing children."
The drawer ignored her. Caelin's aide typed it anyway, which was almost better because no one had asked him to make that choice.
The time fields opened.
Initial pediatric overflow stamp came first.
The band left wrist record came nine minutes later.
The transfer tray scan came after that.
Cross-route stamp came thirteen minutes after the band left wrist.
Ty's stomach tightened.
The room did the math without saying it aloud. Nine minutes from overflow to removal. Thirteen more before cross-route authority appeared. Enough time for panic. Enough time for theft. Enough time for a desk to be born around a thing someone needed moved.
The band had become useful after it stopped being worn.
Mara closed her eyes.
Rose kept hers open for both of them.
Zunoder's calm thinned, then repaired itself.
"The timing supports post-removal processing. It still leaves emergency use available."
Omina put the pen down.
"Available and clean are different findings in this room."
Heissman looked sick enough that JJ spared him for three whole seconds.
Then she asked the right question.
"Who can add a cross-route stamp thirteen minutes late?"
The drawer sealed the signer.
No surprise there.
Omina asked the lower question.
"Station class only, with the signer still sealed."
The drawer hesitated.
Ty's missing finger hurt again.
Not a pull this time. A pinch, deep in the old edge of the wound.
Station class opened.
Temporary emergency desk.
Heissman put one finger on the table and kept it there like he needed the room to see his hand behaving.
"Temporary desks are supposed to inherit supervision from the office that creates them."
JJ looked at the empty space beside the station class.
"Supposed to is the cheapest word in this building."
Heissman took the hit because the page had already done worse.
"A desk made for one transfer can disappear before anyone audits its hands."
Omina wrote that as function before audit, then drew a box around desk age.
"Then desk age matters as much as signer."
Caelin's aide stopped typing.
Jade's tablet shifted a hair and then steadied.
Waddell said nothing.
Ty heard what the room avoided saying.
A permanent office could claim rules.
A temporary desk could vanish.
Omina wrote the station class and circled temporary.
"Give the desk creation time before the station claims age."
The drawer searched.
This time the door behind all of it seemed to wait.
No sound came from it. No clever voice offered itself. The old thing only waited while people did the work for it.
The desk creation time opened.
Eight minutes after the band left wrist.
Eight minutes sounded small until Ty put it beside the chair legs on Jade's feed, the lowered camera, the adults pretending not to hear a child cough. Eight minutes was long enough to pull a band from one route, build a desk around it, and make the next person treat that desk like it had always been there.
No villain had to walk into the room for that.
An old office needed a terminal, a gap, and somebody willing to let the gap work.
JJ's pencil stopped.
Heissman whispered, "The desk was made after the child was gone from the band."
Omina corrected the phrasing without mercy.
"The temporary emergency desk was created after the band left the wrist and before the cross-route stamp."
The drawer accepted the corrected sequence.
Ty looked at the three times on the page.
The order sat on the page in plain office language. Band left wrist. Desk created. Cross-route stamp added. Band reached the door. His missing finger came later.
For the first time all night, the room had a path starting somewhere besides his wound. Breathing should have come easier.
It made the air feel smaller, because a child-sized object had opened the path first.
