Chapter 528: Draining the Ancestral Dragon Pool

The Dragon Domain Dominator waited in anticipation.

Meanwhile, inside the Ancestral Dragon Pool, Li Yang, the Sky-Fierce Flood Dragon, was incredibly excited. He could feel himself absorbing energy at every single moment.

‘There’s no rejection at all. This isn’t like what happened with the Ancestral Dragon and my main body.’

Previously, when Li Yang’s main body had refined the Primordial Dragon Essence Blood, he had initially encountered rejection, making the process very difficult. The resistance had only gradually weakened as he refined more and more of it.

But now, Li Yang’s Sky-Fierce Flood Dragon avatar felt no rejection whatsoever. Absorbing the energy was completely natural, as if it was innately meant to fuse perfectly with his physical body!

‘Absorb! Absorb!’

Driven by excitement, all Li Yang, the Sky-Fierce Flood Dragon, had to do was keep absorbing!

One month… three months… six months… one year…

In the blink of an eye, a full year had passed since Li Yang entered the Ancestral Dragon Pool.

At this time, besides Li Yang, there were two other geniuses from the Sky-Fierce Flood Dragon clan in the Ancestral Dragon Pool.

The Ancestral Dragon Pool was vast; of course it wasn’t reserved for a single genius at a time. If one person was absorbing, did that mean others couldn’t enter? That was obviously not the case.

However, the area Li Yang was in was clearly different from where the other geniuses were. Moreover, his location was concealed, so others couldn’t find him even if they tried to probe the area.

At that moment, the two geniuses felt something was strange.

“What’s going on? I feel like the energy in the Ancestral Dragon Pool has decreased by a lot.”

“I have the same feeling. I should still be able to absorb more energy, but I just can’t sense it anymore.”

The two Sky-Fierce Flood Dragon geniuses were very puzzled.

Normally when they absorbed the energy from the Primordial Dragon Essence Blood, it was abundant; it was just that they couldn’t absorb very much of it.

But now, they could barely sense any energy at all. With so little of it available, they naturally absorbed even less.

Afterward, the two geniuses hurriedly reported the matter up the chain of command.

…

A relatively powerful Deity was tasked with guarding the Ancestral Dragon Pool.

The Ancestral Dragon Pool was a place for the Sky-Fierce Flood Dragon clan to cultivate their physical bodies, and it was primarily intended for their geniuses.

After all, the powerful experts had already reached their limits for absorption and would only enter the Ancestral Dragon Pool once every long while.

The geniuses, on the other hand, entered from time to time, trying to absorb more energy!

One had to understand, the Primordial Dragon Essence Blood could help one break through to the next realm!

By absorbing more, these geniuses could greatly increase their chances of breaking through to the Divine Realm!

Therefore, if only one guard was needed, a powerful Deity was undoubtedly the most suitable choice. You couldn’t have an Emperor babysitting a pool and looking after these geniuses, could you?

In the Sky-Fierce Flood Dragon clan, aside from the Dominator, the most powerful were the Emperors. They were the second tier of experts!

When the report came in, the Deity who received it was also a bit puzzled.

“What did you say? The energy in the Ancestral Dragon Pool has decreased?” This Deity didn’t monitor the pool’s condition constantly; he would only conduct a thorough inspection every year or two.

He personally investigated the situation and then swiftly reported the news upwards, to the Emperor above him.

“The energy in the Ancestral Dragon Pool has drastically decreased?”

The Emperor who heard the news was also astonished.

He frowned slightly, and then a thought suddenly struck him.

‘Could it be Kong Yu?’

Besides the three Deities like Xuan Mo, no other Deity was aware of the existence of Li Yang’s Sky-Fierce Flood Dragon avatar.

But he was an Emperor; he certainly knew of the existence of Li Yang, the Sky-Fierce Flood Dragon!

After a moment’s thought, this Emperor appeared directly inside the Ancestral Dragon Pool and scanned it thoroughly.

‘Indeed, the energy is lower.’

He sensed it carefully.

‘The other two geniuses aren’t absorbing it. Could all this energy have been absorbed by Kong Yu?’ the Emperor wondered.

The energy in the Ancestral Dragon Pool couldn’t just decrease for no reason. It could only be absorbed, and there was only one person absorbing this much energy: Kong Yu!

Emperor Hengmo found it incredible. He knew how much energy had been in the Ancestral Dragon Pool before. Could Kong Yu really have absorbed so much in just one year?

Looking toward Kong Yu, Emperor Hengmo really wanted to question him about it, but he ultimately decided against it.

After some consideration, the Emperor also chose to report it upwards.

‘Kong Yu… he’s someone the Dragon Domain Dominator is paying special attention to. With his Talent, he’s bound to become a top expert of our clan in the future. And now he’s demonstrating the ability to absorb so much Primordial Dragon Essence Blood…’

All of this made him, an Emperor, treat Kong Yu, a mere World Realm weakling, with great caution. He didn’t dare to question him from a high-and-mighty position of power.

‘Report it!’

Emperor Hengmo had actually chosen to report it as well, sending it up level by level…

Ten seconds later…

WHOOSH!

A figure appeared above the Ancestral Dragon Pool. It was none other than the Dragon Domain Dominator.

As a mighty Dominator, it was naturally impossible for him to constantly monitor the situation at the Ancestral Dragon Pool.

Although Kong Yu was a genius, he wasn’t so remarkable as to warrant his continuous attention for several years.

At the very least, he would wait until Kong Yu had reached his absorption limit before appearing again.

However, upon receiving the report from Emperor Hengmo, he had appeared once more.

“Hengmo, is what you reported true?”

The Dragon Domain Dominator appeared and asked the man before him in a deep voice.

“Yes, Dominator.”

The Emperor hurriedly said, “The energy in the Ancestral Dragon Pool has decreased significantly. If nothing unexpected happened, it should have been absorbed by Kong Yu.”

“Kong Yu?”

The Dragon Domain Dominator looked down. “It’s only been a year, and the energy in the Ancestral Dragon Pool was equivalent to more than a full drop of Primordial Dragon Essence Blood. Kong Yu absorbed it all?”

Don’t underestimate a single drop. Previously, the foundation of Li Yang’s main body was only slightly above that of an ordinary Deity, not even at the level of the Dual Pantheon. But just one and a half drops of Primordial Dragon Essence Blood had increased his strength dozens of times over! His foundation had been directly elevated to the level of Tri-System Deities!

Some Emperors only managed to increase their strength two or three times over after using more than ten drops of Primordial Dragon Essence Blood.

It would take an unknown amount of time for these little guys who weren’t even in the Divine Realm to use up just a single drop of Primordial Dragon Essence Blood.

The energy in the Ancestral Dragon Pool was generally maintained at the equivalent of one or two drops. When it fell to half a drop, they would add another one.

This process usually took ten to twenty years, or even several decades. That was why the Dragon Domain Dominator had never even considered the possibility of the Ancestral Dragon Pool’s energy being depleted.

“I’ll ask him myself!” The Dragon Domain Dominator declared, his gaze fixed below.

…

Inside the Ancestral Dragon Pool, Li Yang, the Sky-Fierce Flood Dragon, was in the middle of absorbing energy.

‘Hm? Is the energy getting lower and lower?’

Li Yang’s Sky-Fierce Flood Dragon avatar opened its eyes, coming out of its state of absorption, and thought to itself.

He sensed his surroundings carefully. He could still absorb energy, but the speed of absorption had greatly decreased.

‘Did I absorb it all?’

Just as he was thinking this, Li Yang suddenly felt an irresistible force pull at him. His body was lifted directly out of the Ancestral Dragon Pool, appearing before the Dragon Domain Dominator.
