Chapter 464 - 235: Consider This a First-Meeting Gift
Chapter 464: Chapter 235: Consider This a First-Meeting Gift
A convoy of seven Mercedes G-Wagens drove down the dirt road leading to the ranch, kicking up a trail of dust that looked like a long, gray dragon.
"Abdullah," Salman began, his sharp gaze landing on his younger brother seated beside him. "This Mr. Su... is his background truly as remarkable as you claim?"
"Sixth Brother, it’s just as I said. How could I possibly joke about something like this!" Abdullah replied, his expression firm as he met his sixth brother’s sharp gaze.
’Although he didn’t know the specifics of Su Chen’s background either, the mere fact that Su Chen was the true owner of IPS was enough to show he was no simple character. That, combined with his Huaxia heritage, said it all.’
Ordinarily, a small matter like buying an eagle-shaped gold nugget for tens of millions, or even one or two hundred million USD, wouldn’t require a Prince of a Middle Eastern royal family like Salman to appear personally. Abdullah’s presence would have been more than enough.
But once he learned about Su Chen’s background, Salman’s mind started turning. In recent years, the kingdom’s strategic focus had been shifting toward Huaxia, naturally leading to more interactions in various sectors. He hoped to use this opportunity to build a connection with Su Chen, which would facilitate future business dealings.
Although he was a member of the royal family, and even one of its leading heirs, he wouldn’t have much real power within the family until he became its head. For now, his advantage was mostly just having a little more money.
Salman was no longer a young man; he was already thirty this year. His uncles above him were only in their fifties, still in their prime. There was no telling when he might inherit. His only option was to make some achievements of his own to score some points and enter the royal family’s inner circle of decision-makers sooner rather than later.
Seeing Abdullah’s determined expression, Salman nodded silently. However, a question lingered in his mind: what was this Mr. Su doing out here in the middle of nowhere, deep in the mountains and forests? The place was remote, and even the road in and out was just a packed-dirt track.
With this question still on his mind, the convoy soon arrived at the ranch. Before their car had even come to a complete stop, Salman saw a group of people standing at the entrance. At the very front were two young men.
"Sixth Brother, the young man holding the cat is the Mr. Su Chen I mentioned. As for the one next to him... I’ve never seen him before!" Abdullah quickly explained to his sixth brother, Salman.
"Mm," Salman grunted in acknowledgment, nodding as his gaze fell upon Su Chen and the other man.
His gaze, however, lingered on the slightly older of the two. ’Someone who can stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Su Chen must have an impressive identity of his own.’
Su Chen, holding the lynx, was laughing and joking with Xiao Chen. He was teasing Abdullah about what a huge entourage he had, needing seven Mercedes G-Wagens just to get around. Here in Russia, Mercedes were rare, and he had no idea where the prince had managed to find so many.
’Money really does make the world go ’round,’ he thought. ’Those oil tycoons really pull out all the stops wherever they go.’
When the doors to the middle G-Wagen opened and two men wearing traditional headdresses stepped out, a flicker of confusion crossed the faces of both Su Chen and Xiao Chen. Why were there two members of the royal family?
Though they were a bit confused, they still smiled and went forward to greet them. Proper etiquette was, after all, essential.
"Abdullah, my friend! Long time no see. And this is?"
"Long time no see!" After greeting him, Abdullah immediately took half a step back, allowing Salman to take the lead. "This is my sixth brother, Salman!"
"Hello," Su Chen said. He had no idea what Salman’s exact standing in the Middle Eastern royal family was, but seeing Abdullah’s deferential behavior, he knew this man’s position couldn’t be low.
After shaking Su Chen’s hand, Salman’s gaze naturally fell upon Xiao Chen. "And may I ask who this gentleman is?" he inquired curiously.
Before Su Chen could introduce him, Xiao Chen extended his right hand. "Xiao Chen. A pleasure to meet you."
Salman didn’t hesitate for a second, reaching out and grasping Xiao Chen’s hand firmly. For some reason, he felt that looking at Xiao Chen was like looking at a reflection of himself, though he didn’t dwell on the thought.
After the four of them had been introduced, Su Chen gestured for the group to head into the ranch. It was only then that Abdullah noticed the "kitten" in Su Chen’s arms!
"Hm? Is that a lynx cub?" Abdullah asked, slightly surprised.
"That’s right. My men found it during the hunt today." As if on cue, the little lynx let out a cry at Abdullah and Salman.
"Quite spirited! My sixth brother also has a lynx at home, but it’s a full-grown adult," Abdullah said with a smile. It wasn’t uncommon for members of the royal family to keep large, fierce beasts; some even raised tigers and jaguars, which were as docile as any house pet.
The group walked into the villa, chatting and laughing. Just as they entered the living room, the roar of a tiger echoed through the space. Salman and Abdullah, who were walking behind Su Chen, stopped dead in their tracks. Their eyes shot toward the source of the sound, where they saw a White Tiger with black stripes and its two cubs staring right at them.
The moment Salman saw the White Tiger, a flash of delight lit up his eyes. Princes like him had a penchant for rare and exotic things, and this White Tiger was a prime example. He could tell with a single glance that it was wild.
