Chapter 465: Chapter 235: Let This Be a Welcoming Gift

He’d thought about raising one before, but White Tigers needed to be raised from cubhood. Unfortunately, naturally bred wild White Tigers are incredibly rare, and their cubs are even scarcer—you can’t necessarily buy one even if you have the money. That’s why his dream had never come true.

Currently, there were only about two hundred White Tigers in the entire world, and all of them were captively bred. Even their offspring were raised through artificial intervention and had long since lost their wild instincts. Naturally, Salman had little interest in them.

What he wanted was the process of taming a wild cub. What was the point of a captive-bred one? It would be no different from raising a house cat.

"My friend, don’t tell me you also found this while hunting today!" Abdullah asked, somewhat astonished. He couldn’t help but marvel at Su Chen’s incredible luck.

At his words, a smug smile touched Su Chen’s lips. "That’s right. I happened upon it in the mountains. It was fighting a brown bear in a ravine. The White Tiger was grievously injured in the struggle, so I stepped in and saved it."

"And as a bonus, we get to enjoy the spoils. We’re having a full-bear feast tonight!"

What they were eating was of little consequence. For men of Salman and Abdullah’s status, delicacies like bear paw were something they had tasted long ago; it was hardly a novelty. Their gazes, however, were fixed on the two little cubs, and they couldn’t look away.

"Mr. Su, I was wondering, would you be willing to sell these two White Tiger cubs? Money is no object!" Salman asked, looking at Su Chen with a hopeful glint in his eye.

Su Chen didn’t answer Salman’s question right away. He first gestured for everyone to sit down before finally replying, "I’m sorry, Mr. Salman, but I’m afraid I’ll have to disappoint you. I plan on keeping these two little ones to raise myself."

Hearing this, Salman grew anxious. He had finally come across wild White Tiger cubs; he couldn’t bear to let the opportunity slip by.

"But you have two cubs, don’t you? You could sell just one to me. Any price is..." Salman trailed off mid-sentence when he saw Xiao Chen sitting next to Su Chen. He immediately understood the situation.

Su Chen saw the look on his face and knew Salman had guessed the two little White Tigers were already spoken for. He decisively changed the topic.

"Here, try some of the tea I brought from home. I’m not sure if it’s to your liking," Su Chen said, pouring each of them a cup of the freshly steeped tea.

Smelling the fragrant aroma of tea in the air, Salman and Abdullah immediately picked up the hot cups and took a small sip. They were both great lovers of tea. Due to religious conventions, the wealthy Gulf elite had a particular fondness for it, though they typically preferred black tea—the kind you add a spoonful of sugar to.

The group fell into a casual conversation and quickly found common ground. Xiao Chen and Salman, in particular, hit it off spectacularly. They chatted heatedly about everything from the international situation to regional economic development and even some confidential matters. They both felt as if they were kindred spirits who should have met years ago.

Su Chen and Abdullah could only sit to the side, sipping their tea and listening to the other two’s animated discussion.

Fortunately, this scene didn’t last long before it was interrupted by the return of Chen Fei and his men from the camp.

Chen Fei and a few of his men walked straight in, carrying several large chests. They were momentarily stunned to see Su Chen and his guests on the sofa. After recovering, Chen Fei quickly spoke up, "Sir, we’ve brought back all the gold nuggets. Shall we take them out?"

"Bring out the eagle-shaped one. As for the rest... just put them in the corner."

At the mention of gold nuggets, Salman and Xiao Chen’s conversation stopped cold. Their gazes immediately fixed on the chests Chen Fei was carrying. He had just heard the phrase "all the gold nuggets." ’Could it be that all of those chests are filled with gold nuggets?’

It was common knowledge that where there were large gold nuggets, there was usually a gold mine. And judging by the number of men carrying chests, there had to be at least four or five large nuggets, if not more. This couldn’t help but set his mind racing.

’Could Su Chen and Xiao Chen have come here for a gold mine?’ Although he was incredibly curious, Salman knew what questions were appropriate to ask and which were not.

When Chen Fei and the others lifted the eagle-shaped gold nugget out of its chest, Salman and Abdullah shot up from the sofa.

They had seen photos before, but it was nothing compared to the real thing. The three-dimensional shape was just like a majestic eagle, wings spread as if about to hunt.

Once Chen Fei and his men had set the gold nugget on the table, Salman and Abdullah immediately leaned in for a closer look, examining it carefully.

"Perfect. It’s absolutely perfect! The eagle looks as if it’s about to come alive!" Salman was beyond satisfied. He could already imagine bringing the gold nugget back home, where it would surely be adored by the royal elders. After all, the eagle was their national emblem.

"Mr. Su, we are extremely satisfied with this eagle-shaped gold nugget. What do you think would be a suitable price?" Salammi said, looking at Su Chen with an expression that said, ’name your price.’

Seeing this, a flicker of a smile flashed in Su Chen’s eyes, gone in an instant. Even Salman and Abdullah, standing just a short distance away, didn’t catch it.

"Mr. Salman, you’re being too formal. Abdullah and I are friends, after all. Talking about money would only strain our friendship."

"Since this is our first meeting, please accept this eagle-shaped gold nugget as a gift to commemorate our new friendship," Su Chen said with an earnest expression.
