He hadn’t expected Li Li to take the initiative and order a dish.

"When I was on my way in, I passed by the kitchen and saw there were still two bear paws in the fridge. Boss, could you have them make a braised bear paw dish?"

At the mention of braised bear paws, Li Li couldn’t help but swallow. She was already fantasizing about how they would taste.

Su Chen couldn’t help but laugh. The kitchen wasn’t even on the path to his villa, so how could she have possibly seen it, let alone what was inside the refrigerator?

’Looks like Li Li had already planned on mooching a free lunch when she decided to come. No... she must have come *specifically* for the free meal. To be precise, she came for the braised bear paws.’

’Coming all the way from Irkutsk to report on her work was just an excuse. After all, she could have told me all that over the phone. Why bother traveling so far?’

These two bear paws had been sent over from the mine just two days ago. The men said they’d run into the bear during a patrol. Most of the meat had been used to add an extra dish for the miners, while the remaining four paws and some leg meat were sent back to the ranch for Su Chen.

Su Chen had eaten two of them over the past couple of days. ’For Li Li to know about this all the way in Irkutsk... it looks like there’s a "traitor" at the mine!’

"Of course~ Why not? Go tell the kitchen yourself," Su Chen said, waving his hand with a hint of resignation. "If anyone asks, just tell them I approved it."

"Thanks, Boss!" With that, Li Li scurried off toward the kitchen.

Watching Li Li’s retreating figure, a smile touched Su Chen’s lips. She was one of his very first subordinates; spoiling her a little was no big deal. ’It’s just a meal, after all!’

Su Chen didn’t get to eat until well past one o’clock, nearly two in the afternoon.

The main reason for the delay was the braised bear paw dish Li Li had requested. It wasn’t difficult to cook, just incredibly time-consuming. It took a full hour just to boil the paws until they were tender. If they weren’t cooked through, they would be impossible to chew after being braised.

Already starving, Su Chen started eating the moment he sat down. Li Li’s enthusiasm was even more impressive. She grabbed a bowl bigger than her own face and alternated between bites of braised bear paw and rice, completely lost in a state of culinary bliss.

Every so often, Li Li would praise the braised bear paws and Su Chen’s generosity. It was her first time eating bear paw, and she was discovering just how delicious it truly was.

The two bear paws weighed a full ten pounds, and at least two-thirds of that ended up in Li Li’s stomach.

Su Chen was incredibly curious how Li Li’s stomach could hold so much food. She had a very nice figure and didn’t even have a hint of a belly.

’For someone with such a slender frame to eat several pounds of bear paw... it’s unbelievable.’

’It’s true what they say. A woman’s stomach, much like her heart, is as deep and immeasurable as the ocean.’

"Ahhh, I’m so full and satisfied," Li Li sighed, collapsing onto the sofa and rubbing her round belly. "Boss, what am I going to do when I can’t eat food this good anymore?"

Su Chen was in a similar state, completely stuffed. Watching how engrossed Li Li was with her food had spurred his own appetite, and now his belly was just as round.

"I swear, you’re getting addicted to freeloading, aren’t you?" Su Chen shot her an exasperated look. "You just finished this meal and you’re already scheming for the next one. You’re really something else!"

"Well, it’s your fault for having such delicious food!" Li Li muttered, pouting.

Su Chen was about to retort when his phone, sitting on the table, suddenly rang. His brow furrowed the moment he saw the caller ID.

The screen just showed a string of numbers. The first few digits, +853, didn’t look like a domestic area code, which usually started with a zero.

’This feels like a telemarketer or a scam call. A call like this shouldn’t even be able to get through,’ Su Chen thought, picking up the phone with a hint of suspicion.

’His phone number had been upgraded and had a security clearance level. It should have automatically blocked these kinds of nuisance calls... unless the person on the other end knew his number and dialed it directly.’

After a moment’s thought, Su Chen answered. He was curious to see what kind of call this was.
