Chapter 183: Chapter 107: Planar War, Light of Truth (3)
Wisps of hazy red light immediately flickered from his fingertips.
Mansha watched, a confused look on her face. "What’s this kid doing?"
Nasha was also a bit puzzled. "I don’t know."
A moment later, the answer appeared on the Light Curtain.
The fat’s surface quickly turned golden-brown as glistening droplets of oil seeped out from within.
Mansha’s expression twitched even more noticeably. "This is the first time I’ve ever seen someone use a Heat Flow to render oil from animal fat."
Nasha was also stunned speechless by this maneuver.
After staring for a few seconds, she noticed how quickly the oil was rendering and came to a conclusion. "This kid has definitely done this before."
Mansha wholeheartedly agreed. "That’s what I was thinking."
The scene on the Light Curtain left the two Third Level Apprentices in a bit of a daze. ’Is this... really the assessment? Why does it feel more like a picnic?’
Nasha turned to look at the Light Curtain showing the Battle Group.
Inside the crude camp, the torrential rain had lessened slightly, and the dense fog was finally showing signs of receding.
But the new recruits still didn’t dare go anywhere.
They had fought hard there all morning, expending a huge amount of stamina. Nearly everyone was dizzy with hunger.
Some had picked colorful wild fruits from who-knows-where and were secretly chewing on them. Their faces instantly puckered up like the folds of a steamed bun; clearly, the taste was shockingly sour.
Nasha’s gaze returned to the Sanctuary.
Mo Ning had already finished the initial rendering of the fat with astonishing speed.
He poured the clear oil into two portions, handing one to each of the two young women. "The quality of this oil is quite good," he said casually. "It’s perfect for cooking."
He even added, with a hint of philosophy, "The Muddy Worm looks disgustingly filthy, but its oil can be used to create delicacies. It just goes to show you can’t judge a book by its cover."
Nasha recalled a scene from earlier. While he was butchering the Muddy Worm, the kid had suddenly leaned in, picked up a piece of fat, and sniffed it several times. Now, she understood.
The Female Apprentice compared the scenes on the two Light Curtains and couldn’t help but shake her head.
’The difference is just too great!’
A few seconds later, Mansha suddenly spoke. "Looks like this kid is really unhappy with the cafeteria food. Maybe he’s even fantasizing about improving its quality one day."
Nasha burst out laughing. "He wouldn’t be the first person to think that, but no one’s ever succeeded."
Mansha agreed. "That’s right!"

「Mist Valley.」
「Inside the Sanctuary.」
Wisps of cooking smoke were already rising, drifting like a pale green gauze curtain before gently dispersing near the ceiling of the stone chamber.
The place seemed to be equipped with a hidden ventilation system. A warm breeze would slowly circle the hall, and the cooking smoke would quietly dissipate, leaving only the faint, lingering scent of meat in the air.
Mo Ning observed the two young women’s cooking techniques for a moment before looking away.
Their culinary skills were still unrefined, and their control over the heat was slightly flawed. He could have offered a few pointers, but he wasn’t about to interfere.
’For one thing, they were completely absorbed in what they were doing.’
’For another, an excellent cook—no, two excellent cooks—needs plenty of practice to truly grow.’
With a thought, Mo Ning acted.
An illusory eyeball quietly materialized. A Nebula swirled slowly in the depths of its pupil, exuding an ancient and mysterious aura.
Upon closer inspection, an exceptionally bright point of light had appeared at some unknown time in the center of the Nebula, shining brilliantly amidst the chaos.
Mo Ning gazed at the Nebula and touched it with his consciousness. A torrent of information flooded his mind.
[Light of Knowledge is coalescing. Countdown: Two days.]
[Light of Truth has coalesced. Activate this Spiritual Light, state your need, and listen to the secret echoes from the endless ocean of knowledge.]
A flash of intense joy appeared deep in Mo Ning’s eyes.
’The long, ninety-day cooldown period was finally over.’
’The last time the Spiritual Light coalesced, he had completed the High Mountain Breathing Technique. That Secret Technique had not only helped him achieve the highest score in the first group assessment, but also enabled him to apply for a rather impressive research project.’
’Now that the second Spiritual Light had arrived, he was hoping for an even greater reward.’
Mo Ning took a shallow breath and recited inwardly, ’Use the Light of Truth, with Secret Divination and Divination as the foundation, to transform the Original Soul Seal into a Soul Witchcraft.’
Ancient Witchcraft was born from the imitation and study of the innate talents of Magical Beasts.
Since the beginning of the New Era, Divination Wizards have not only used Secret Divination and Divination to refine those crude forms of Ancient Witchcraft, but have also turned their attention to the Original Soul Seal.
They discovered that this seal, branded deep within the soul, could also be analyzed and reconstructed, transformed into a more efficient Divination Model.
The Wizards named this the Soul Model.
The benefits of a Soul Model were astounding.
For example, since it is born from the soul, the modified Witchcraft Model doesn’t occupy a Spell Slot.
Furthermore, it is naturally a perfect match for the soul, making its power significantly greater than that of an ordinary Witchcraft Model.
Depending on the type of Witchcraft, the increase in power ranged from 30% to 50%—an astonishing margin.
It also drastically reduces the Spiritual Power and Magic Power consumed during Casting.
As for the drawback—the modification process is extremely difficult.
Although Mo Ning was confident he could complete the modification himself, the required level of Secret Divination and Divination was quite high. It would take at least half a year of dedicated study.
He couldn’t wait that long, so he had decisively chosen to use the Light of Truth.
The next moment, the bright point of light within the illusory eyeball silently burst. A tide of light surged out, illuminating his entire Consciousness World.
He could clearly hear thousands of whispers rising in his ears simultaneously, weaving together into a vast and intricate symphony.
Previously, whenever he gazed at the illusory eyeball, he could always hear faint whispers, but it was as if they were on the other side of a pane of glass—impossible to make out clearly.
But now, it was completely different.
Every word and every sentence of the whispers was as clear as if someone were murmuring right in his ear.
Even more miraculously, the instant he heard each sentence, he instinctively understood its meaning.
Knowledge regarding Soul Seal structures, Divination transformations, and energy channels seeped into his consciousness like melting snow, bypassing the long and tedious process of comprehension.
Mo Ning closed his eyes, the corners of his mouth curling into a slight smile.
’After listening for only a few seconds, he was sure of one thing—this time, the reward was going to be incredible.’
