Fuck!!!! I'm Having The Alpha Princess's Baby.
Chapter 428: Faye Visit Pali
Inside PP’s shop, there was a quiet commotion going on.
A complaining customer.
Pali stood behind his wooden counter as always when one of his most persistent customers barged through the front door.
Or worker...
Faye had been talking nonstop since the moment she walked in, loudly complaining about the natural tea he had given her to avoid pregnancy.
Pali completely ignored her ranting, continuing to focus on what he was doing by carefully crushing dry green leaves in his small stone mortar.
"How is this possible? I drank that tea every single day, even on the days I don’t have sex..." Faye cried out, throwing her arms in the air toward the unbothered man.
"First, I do not feel comfortable with you telling me about your sex adventures..." Pali said, finally setting his pestle down and looking up at the young Omega. "I am no different from your brother, and the thought of you doing... makes me want to cry."
Faye rolled her eyes, stepping closer to the counter edge. "Oh really? I have never seen you cry, except for that day you almost got eaten by those loco tribes... What I’m saying is, how did the tea fail? It’s supposed to protect me... like, protect me from getting pregnant..."
"Well, there are two possibilities. Your body rejected the tea, or the tea has stopped doing its work, maybe both options.." Pali explained calmly.
He scooped a small spoon of thick dark paste into his mortar and began mixing it directly with the crushed herbal tea.
"Okay, PP, I don’t understand. Why would it stop working? It’s supposed to do its job," Faye said, her brow furrowing as she felt completely confused.
"It’s your nature..."
"What do you mean? Can you please explain?"
"Your mother was from the Northern region of this world. They can easily adapt to their surroundings and things around them. You mentioned that you take the tea every single day, so your body adapted to it, fighting against the tea’s effects..."
Faye stared at him, her lips pressing into a sharp, bitter line. "So you are telling me that there is no way to avoid future pregnancies? My girlfriend loves that position, and we love doing it..."
Pali squeezed his eyes shut, letting out a heavy, tired breath. "Again, stop it... I’m not comfortable knowing about your life, girl. Just stop doing it. Don’t you guys have other positions to avoid you two clashing?"
Faye crossed her arms over her chest, raising an eyebrow at him. "I thought you said I should stop talking about my sex life..."
"Yes."
"So why should I tell you about my sex position?"
Pali pointed a long finger straight toward the front exit. "Faye, go away..."
"You can’t drive me away..."
"Yes, I can. This is my shop."
"And I work here."
Pali stopped stirring his mixture and took a short, silent look at the girl standing across from him. He could not remember a single time Faye had ever walked into his shop to actually do work. It was either to drop Henry off for the afternoon or pick up her custom tea orders.
And Faye instantly understood the unspoken meaning behind his glare.
"Okay, fine. Used to. I can be a customer..." Faye said quickly, turning her head to look around the crowded shop shelves. "Oh, I want this dried lavender. I want to put it inside my bathtub and bathe with my lovely girlfriend..."
Faye picked up a tied bundle of dried purple lavender from a nearby display basket and dropped it squarely in front of PP on the wooden counter.
"How much is the lavender?" Faye asked, sliding her hand into her back pocket and bringing out a metal card.
Pali’s eyes dropped to the slick design, recognizing the emblem instantly. "Is that a Del Rolo card?" Pali said, his voice instantly turning cold and sharp. "What are you doing with Lycans?"
Faye froze, her fingers tightening around the edge of the metal before she quickly tried to slide it away. "Nothing, bro... just a friend’s gift card..." Faye chuckled awkwardly, already deeply regretting ever bringing the card out in front of him.
"I’m not your bro. I am your mentor who is looking after you... Don’t tell me you are getting yourself into another trouble. Faye, don’t make your mother’s sacrifice go in vain... You are not to mingle with those powerful people... Lycan, Alphas are dangerous, and you are the center of them all..."
Faye completely stopped listening to his stern warning the second she heard the words mother’s sacrifice leave his mouth.
"What do you mean, my mother’s sacrifice going in vain? Did she die protecting me or what? Because it seems you and Paye are good with secrets..."
Pali paused, holding his breath as he realized how far his tongue had slipped. He looked into her sharp eyes, stepping closer to the edge of the counter to keep his voice down.
"What I’m trying to say is, keep yourself hidden at all costs. The power you possess... there are people in this world who want what you have."
"PP, answer me. What actually happened to my mother?" Faye asked, her tone dropping into something dead serious.
Pali let out a long, quiet sigh, dropping his gaze to the table. "Maye and my mother with two other women. They tried to make you a normal Wolf like the other kinds, removing your Moon Wolf abilities, but they were betrayed and framed, and the council burned them all..."
Faye stood frozen in place. She did have a heavy feeling for a long time that her mother’s sudden death had something to do with her, but she never expected the truth to be like that.
The Oakland Council and their endless cruelty...
Faye took a slow, deep breath, her fingers tightening into firm fists at her sides as she swallowed down the sudden lump in her throat.
"That is a very, very sad thing... Don’t worry, Uncle PP... It’s a good thing I’m on the path to avenging our mother’s death. Pack me the lavender. I need to go home..."
