The moment the deadly blood dropped on Faye’s hand, Princess was completely done with trying to be calm.

When everyone inside the room thought Faye was going to burst into bright flames and turn into scattered ashes right in front of them, they all froze and stared at her, holding their breath as they waited for a single spark.

Nothing happened.

"Oh my God, Faye, are you alright?" Malo asked frantically, rushing closer to inspect his best friend’s hand, desperately hoping she wouldn’t start burning from the inside out.

Faye stared blankly down at the dark drop of blood resting on her open skin, looking completely confused. The girl truly had no idea what she had just done or what she had accidentally stopped.

"Huh??? I guess..." Faye muttered, raising her palm a little higher to inspect it.

She looked over at Dre, who was still standing completely fine beside her. Not a single drop of the lethal blood had managed to touch the Night Walker.

Then Faye turned her gaze toward Kiara, who looked utterly bewildered about what had just taken place. Faye somehow intercepting and stopping her deadly attack on the Walker was completely unexpected.

Everyone in the room finally let out a long breath they had been holding. Faye wasn’t dying on the floor, so they all figured it must just be some weird, normal Moon Wolf thing.

Princess, who had been standing far away near the back wall with her pups a second ago, was suddenly standing directly in front of Faye.

Seeing with her own eyes that her girlfriend was physically okay, the core of her panic began to subside, but she was entirely done being in this gym tonight.

"Faye, let’s go home..." Princess said, keeping her voice strictly calm.

"I still have to finish the..."

"I said let’s go home!" Princess snapped, dropping her nice act entirely. Her bright blue eyes flashed dangerously at the Omega, making it crystal clear that there was no room for any argument or excuse.

Faye swallowed hard, taking a quick step back. "Okay, let’s go home. We can definitely do this another day... Bye guys. Come on, you really have to calm down a bit. You’re super angry right now," Faye said, moving her feet fast toward the door.

After carefully securing all four of their sleeping pups into their car seats in the back, Princess reached over to help Faye pull her seat belt across her lap and click it into place, but she still didn’t make direct eye contact with her girlfriend once during those quiet moments.

Faye knew it instantly. Her girlfriend was beyond pissed off because a million terrible things could have gone wrong inside that gym. Faye could have literally died on the spot.

While Princess silently drove them home through the dark streets, Faye decided to open her mouth and apologize properly.

"I’m very sorry for what happened inside the gym just now. I swear I had no idea what I was even doing..." Faye said softly, turning her head to look at her girlfriend, whose eyes were firmly focused on the night road ahead.

Princess used a quick side-eye to glance at Faye for half a second before snapping her vision right back onto the road. The Alpha was genuinely furious.

The strange mystery behind why Faye was completely immune to that blood attack was still a total unknown.

But what if Faye wasn’t actually immune?

Princess would have lost the mother of her sweet pups and the absolute love of her life in a single second.

Sometimes it really annoyed her to no end that Faye always seemed to enjoy putting herself right in the middle of unnecessary danger, and the sheer recklessness of it vexed Princess to her core.

Did the Alpha really have to keep constant tabs on her every single second just to keep her alive?

"Come on, say something, anything... I’m really, really sorry... Baby..." Faye said, pitching her voice into the cutest, softest tone possible to try and soften the tight jaw of the Alpha driving beside her.

Again, Princess side-eyed her girlfriend, this time holding the subtle glance for a few seconds longer than before. The sweet pet name was clearly working its usual magic, and Faye knew it right away.

"My Darling Alpha, I am so deeply sorry... My sweet, sweet honey pancake... The only true flavor to my popsicle... My eternal sunshine..."

Slowly but surely, Princess felt the icy rage inside her chest starting to melt away from those ridiculous, sweet words. A tiny smile broke onto her lips, and she blinked her bright eyes shyly at the ridiculous string of pet names.

"I am your eternal sunshine?" Princess asked softly, her voice losing its stern edge.

"You are my absolute everything. I love you, Pancake..." Faye said, leaning her head toward her shoulder.

"I love you too, Poppy... But seriously, you need to stop with all this putting yourself in constant danger," Princess sighed, her hands tightening slightly on the steering wheel. "What if that blood had turned into fire the second it touched you? You could have died right there. The pups wouldn’t have their mommy anymore, and I wouldn’t have my mate. Do you have any idea how I felt the exact moment I saw that drop of blood land on your skin? For a moment back there, I genuinely thought I had lost you forever."

Faye looked down at her lap, feeling a sharp pang of guilt. "Sorry... but I survived, see?"

"Just so you know, you are the very first person to ever survive that kind of attack. No one in history has ever survived the moment that poisoned blood touches their bare skin. They are just gone in an instant... Faye, please do not give me a heart attack before my time. We are adding another number to our family soon, and we really need to focus on that right now."

"Okay... I am totally focusing on that. You know I will never put my kids in any kind of real danger."

"I know you won’t... But you need to stop putting yourself in danger too. After school is finished, we are leaving this entire city behind to go to a peaceful place where we can just be a normal, quiet family."

Faye blinked, her brows pulling together as she sat up straight in her seat. "What? Where are we going?"

"I planned on telling you soon anyway, but ever since I found out that we are expecting another pup, I realized I need a much bigger house for our growing family. And I definitely don’t want to raise them here in Oakland anymore because of my family and all this city’s rules. So hooray, we are moving to a brand new town," Princess said cheerfully, pulling into their driveway, hoping her girlfriend fully understood the plan.

But as the car engine turned off, Faye was the one sitting there completely confused, her lips forming into a long, quiet sulk.
