Chapter 437: Bambi Made A Friend

It took them an hour and twenty minutes to listen through the audio history of the Moon Wolf.

They were all completely speechless after the file finished playing, sitting there like they had just listened to a disturbing horror podcast.

"This is unbelievable," Malo muttered under his breath. He was still standing by the treadmill in the center of the gym. He had totally forgotten about his cleaning duties and was now entirely focused on the terrifying story.

"So the actual reason why an Omega evolved into a Moon Wolf in the first place was simply because of... heartbreak," Sasha muttered, leaning back against her seat.

"So in my very first life, I was mated to an Alpha, and that Alpha was secretly in love with someone else and just used me as a pup bearer, then tossed me away to die in the woods," Faye summarized aloud, her voice sounding hollow.

"Well, if you put it like that, it’s totally true. But in a short synopsis, an Omega who desperately wanted revenge got upgraded by a witch and killed the Alpha who rejected her," Malo said, gesturing with his hands.

"I am not even shocked by that part. I am far more disturbed that I wasn’t even created by the Moon Goddess, but by a random witch..." Faye said, shaking her head in complete disbelief.

"What is next? The Moon Goddess does not actually exist, and it’s the witches who are the original creators of all supernaturals?" Haley added, tapping her chin thoughtfully.

"And also, Haley, I am definitely not destined to go around killing Alphas," Faye said, sitting up straight. "The only reason why the first Moon Wolf was created was because she just wanted to kill her rejected mate, and that was all. In Chapter 13, the narrator clearly mentioned she killed herself right after her revenge was complete. See, you and your sister should really stop making it look like I am some kind of quincentennial hypocrite. She did all that awful stuff because her heart was completely broken, and my heart is not broken at all. It’s perfectly fine and pampered every day by my Alpha," Faye stated proudly.

"That still doesn’t explain why the pack of Alphas tried so hard to stop your rebirth," Haley pointed out.

"That is something we all desperately need to find out. Why did the Alphas massacre an entire community back then?" Malo pondered aloud.

"So we Betas were basically created just to be killed again, sacrificing our lives to make the Moon Wolf powerful enough to rip an Alpha’s heart out and make them die permanently," Sasha muttered under her breath. That was the only heavy piece of information that had truly entered her system.

"Don’t worry about that at all, Sasha. I am never going to do that to you... or to any of my two other Betas," Faye assured her quickly, giving her a reassuring look.

"I just really hope so... because every single one of the past Moon Wolves did that exact thing."

"Well, I am a completely different Moon Wolf." Faye stood up from her chair, smoothing down her shirt. "Okay, I really have to go now. I have to meet up with Kiara before heading back home. See you guys tomorrow."

"Wait, I’m coming with you," Malo said, dropping his rag.

"Coming where exactly?"

"To meet Kiara..."

"No, I am meeting Kiara alone, and you are definitely not coming," Faye said, blocking his path.

"Come on, I’m your best friend and your personal assistant. Wherever you go, I go..."

There was no point in arguing with him, and Faye had no choice but to let him tag along and escort her out.

Meanwhile, over at the neighborhood convenience store.

Beam happened to be standing behind the register counter attending to a few late customers when Bambi walked through the front doors, moving around the narrow aisles like someone who was actively planning to shoplift.

The exact moment the store cleared out and became free of shoppers, Bambi walked right up to meet Beam, who was supposed to be taking her quiet break and was currently busy eating her dinner prepared by her girlfriend, Tisha.

"May I help you with something?" Beam asked, leaning her hand against the counter. She had been watching the strange girl acting nosy for the past ten minutes.

"I have a few important questions, and do you mind answering them for me?" Bambi said, flashing a bright, cheerful smile at the girl.

"I have a quick question for you first. Who the hell are you?" Beam said, eyeing her with a flat expression.

"Ohhh, we have actually met on multiple different occasions before this! The first time was when you trashed me and my former friends outside this exact store. The second time we met was during the theater date time. You also trashed someone else inside the public toilet. And I have seen you around sometimes when I come here to buy groceries for my girlfriend, who happens to be your ex-girlfriend," Bambi explained all in one fast breath.

Beam just stared blankly at the energetic girl and her wild, colorful rainbow hair, wondering what kind of total lunatic was standing here disturbing her precious break time.

Bambi leaned in over the counter to whisper so no random person could eavesdrop on them.

"It’s me, Bambi Butcher, Faye Grande’s latest Beta and Kiara Petro’s contract girlfriend. You know, she used to make me dress up just like you, and I heard you used to date her back then."

"We were never in a relationship. Can you please just leave me alone? I’m kinda busy with my food here..." Beam said flatly, pointing her fork down at her container.

"Is that butter chicken and rice?" Bambi asked, her eyes lighting up as she looked closely at the food.

"Yes, my girlfriend made it for me..."

"That honestly looks so delicious..."

"Do you want some?" Beam offered, offering her fork.

"Sure I do!"

And just like that, with a single bite of chicken, Bambi casually made a brand new friend, completely forgetting about the main reason she had walked into the store in the first place.
