Chapter 201: The Hyperdimensional Corps
Chapter 201: The Hyperdimensional Corps
After completing the Hyperdimensional System, Caelum established a clear path for the future development of Aquora’s civilization.
Moment would continue guiding civilization from the surface, serving as its public face and its disguise.
Caelum and the other owners of Hyperdimensional Systems would become its hidden force.
From the shadows, they would wage war across the stars, rule other civilizations, and cultivate puppet civilizations to challenge the higher dimensional observers.
Caelum named those who possessed Hyperdimensional Systems Hyperdimensionals.
During the construction of their eleven dimensional devices, he deliberately removed part of their functionality, weakening and restricting the other Hyperdimensionals to varying degrees.
A complete eleven dimensional device could move freely among all eleven dimensions.
This represented the highest level of authority, Level Eleven.
Only Caelum possessed it.
Below that was Level Nine authority, which allowed free movement between the first and ninth dimensions.
Among the one thousand people selected by Caelum, only Edrick received Level Nine authority.
Next came Level Eight authority.
Those granted this level served as administrators and executioners.
If any Hyperdimensional betrayed Caelum, they would be sent to eliminate the traitor.
The final category held Level Seven authority.
Even with access to only seven dimensions, these Hyperdimensionals could still be regarded as godlike beings throughout the universe.
Their strength was more than enough to sweep across the stars.
Half a year later, all one thousand Hyperdimensional Systems were complete.
Aquora’s civilization still lacked the ability to manufacture any of the core devices within those systems.
Therefore, every one of the thousand systems had been personally created by Caelum.
He not only restricted the eleven dimensional devices, but also embedded a judgment module within the quantum computer of every system.
If the quantum computer determined that a Hyperdimensional’s actions constituted betrayal against Caelum, the system would immediately lock all functions and send a signal to the executioners through quantum communication.
The nearest executioner would then arrive as quickly as possible and kill the traitor on the spot.
Executioners possessed authority over one more dimension than ordinary Hyperdimensionals.
Even if a traitor’s system somehow remained active, they still could not defeat an executioner.
Caelum also used quantum computers to place every Hyperdimensional under constant surveillance.
Quantum communication ignored distance and allowed instantaneous contact.
No matter how far a Hyperdimensional traveled, they could never escape Caelum’s control.
Wind howled through the sky.
An airship slowly approached from the horizon.
After crossing the enormous mountain range separating the eastern and western continents, it soon entered the airspace of the Newhaven region.
"Headquarters, headquarters, this is patrol airship Z 122. Requesting permission to land."
Static crackled over the radio.
A moment later, headquarters responded.
"Headquarters acknowledges. Z 122 is cleared to land."
"Z 122 acknowledges."
Inside the airship, a group of blonde, blue eyed Federal Army soldiers looked down at the land below and repeatedly cried out in amazement.
These soldiers were clearly from the west.
During the western campaign, the Federal Army had continuously recruited troops from occupied territories.
As a result, it had formed a sizable western corps.
Most of these soldiers had originally come from the lowest levels of western society.
They had endured endless suffering and exploitation.
Compared with soldiers from the federation, they showed even less hesitation and mercy when killing nobles.
Many of them had earned considerable military merit.
They had come to Newhaven to attend an award ceremony and receive official recognition.
The closer they drew to the Newhaven region, the more prosperous the land below became.
Carriages on the roads gradually gave way to automobiles.
Dilapidated houses were replaced by concrete buildings.
By the time they entered Newhaven itself, towering buildings covered the city.
Bright glass reflected the dazzling sunlight.
The sight left the soldiers staring in disbelief.
"This is Newhaven?"
"It is so beautiful!"
"I have decided. I am staying in Newhaven from now on!"
Ivy was among the western soldiers.
She also held the highest rank among them.
Compared with three years earlier, a scar now ran across her neck.
It had been left by an archer.
The arrow had nearly pierced a major artery.
Fortunately, luck had been on her side, and she had survived.
"So this is Newhaven..."
Ivy looked down at the endless city of towering buildings stretching across the land.
For a time, even she could not recover from the sight.
The difference was simply too great.
Inside the livestream, comments poured across the screen.
"Holy crap!"
"It is this developed?"
"This is already no different from a modern city!"
"Nothing special. It is still within my expectations. Unless I see spaceships flying through the sky, I will not be impressed."
"..."
Three days after the airship landed, the award ceremony came to an end.
Not long afterward, several western soldiers who had attended the ceremony began disappearing one after another.
Ivy’s expression grew serious.
She told the viewers in her livestream, "Brothers, something feels wrong. I hope I am only imagining it."
At that moment, two soldiers stepped forward and blocked her path.
Ivy’s expression changed at once.
This was bad.
"Oh no. She is finished."
"End the stream!"
"What is happening?"
The viewers thought Ivy was about to be eliminated from the game.
What happened next, however, went far beyond anything they had imagined.
Moment displayed Ivy’s file before Caelum and asked, "Since you did not select her, may I train her instead?"
Caelum looked puzzled.
"You seem to think highly of this girl."
"I would say I admire her."
Moment continued, "Since she could not become a member of the Hyperdimensional Corps, perhaps another stage would suit her better."
"Very well."
Caelum spoke with interest.
"I look forward to seeing what you create."
"Please wait and see."
The Hyperdimensional Corps had only one selection requirement.
Loyalty.
Absolute loyalty directed solely toward Caelum.
Not the federation.
As long as someone was loyal to Caelum, nothing else mattered.
Even a disabled person could be restored to perfect health through genetic modification.
Likewise, eastern or western ancestry made no difference.
The soldiers who disappeared after the award ceremony had not met with misfortune.
They had simply been secretly selected to join the Hyperdimensional Corps.
From that day onward, they became part of the hidden power of Aquora’s civilization.
Ivy was the opposite.
She had been chosen for Moment’s plan.
She would remain a public figure and had no need to erase her identity or live under another name.
Ivy entered an elevator.
Inside the silent chamber, she felt nervous, but curiosity and confusion outweighed her fear.
The elevator continued descending as though it would travel straight into the planet’s core.
A long time later, the doors opened.
The sight before her left Ivy frozen in place.
Robots moved busily throughout the underground base.
Before her stood an enormous spacecraft, its vast sections slowly closing and joining together.
"What is going on here?"
She never would have imagined it.
Newhaven truly had a spaceship.
