Earlier that same afternoon, while Jude was bringing the Managing Director of Pinnacle Real Estate to his knees, Director Arthur Vance was experiencing a vastly different reality across the city...

Inside the velvet-lined fitting room of a hyper-exclusive tailor in the financial district, Director Vance was being measured for a new bespoke tuxedo.

He stood with his shoulders squared and his chin held remarkably high.

His newfound arrogance was justified, anchored by Jude Lawson’s string of corporate miracles.

First, Jude had eradicated the Pierce syndicate, publicly humiliating Maxwell Pierce and dismantling his legacy.

Then, Jude had secured the Nanshan District tax credit, instantly generating hundreds of millions in real estate liquidity.

But the true crown jewel was what had occurred this very morning on the trading floor...

Jude hadn’t just beaten the Pentagon’s elite red teams; he had counter-hacked the Department of Defense and extorted the federal government into signing exclusive, multi-billion-dollar cybersecurity contracts.

Director Vance smiled to himself in the tailor’s mirror. The federal contracts alone guaranteed the studio’s dominance for the next decade.

Vance’s primary ambition was simple: permanently integrate Apex Media and Lawson Capital into a single monopoly.

He believed that President Harper was the key to this integration...

As long as Harper remained at Jude’s side, acting as his elite proxy and managing his vast resources, Vance’s legacy as a board member would be untouchable.

"The fit is exceptional, Arthur," a smooth voice noted from the doorway.

Vance turned to see a group of older, distinguished legacy Wall Street barons entering the boutique.

They were former rivals from the now-defunct Sterling and Vanguard camps, men who had previously laughed at Apex Media’s financial struggles.

"I’m dressing for the upcoming quarterly integration gala," Vance replied, stepping off the tailor’s pedestal.

One of the barons, a former Sterling loyalist, offered a forced smile. "We heard the rumors on the trading floor this morning, Arthur. Is it true? Did Lawson actually secure a federal contract, or is your PR department just trying to inflate your stock price before the quarter ends?"

The lingering skepticism was driven entirely by envy.

He paused for a brief moment, straightened his tie, and took a deep breath before answering their questions.

Director Vance let out a laugh. "A single federal contract? Please. You gentlemen are operating on incredibly outdated intelligence."

Vance stepped closer. "Mr. Lawson didn’t just secure a contract. His proprietary Aegis system breached the Pentagon’s mainframe in fourteen seconds. The Department of Defense, the Department of Energy, and the Federal Reserve have all capitulated. They signed exclusive, ten-year licensing agreements before noon."

The group of Wall Street barons froze, their eyes widening in shock.

"The entire federal cyber-grid?" one of them whispered, the color draining from his face. "That... that is billions in guaranteed liquidity. That’s impossible."

Vance basked in their horror reveling in the power trip. "It is possible when you operate at Mr. Lawson’s level. In fact, he is currently utilizing that liquidity to expand his footprint."

Vance leaned in, dropping another devastating bombshell. "I received a ping from the municipal registry an hour ago. Mr. Lawson just acquired the Obsidian Tower in the Sunstone District. He bought the entire ninety-story skyscraper in cash, bypassing the mortgage syndicates entirely."

"He bought the Obsidian Tower... in cash?" the Sterling loyalist stammered.

"Gentlemen, it has been a pleasure, but I must excuse myself," Vance said, his chest puffed out with immense pride. "I need to return to the Apex executive tower. I have a massive integration agreement to draft for President Harper and Mr. Lawson. We are reshaping the global market tonight."

Walking out of the boutique, Vance felt as if he were floating on air...

Apex Media was the undisputed king of Wall Street.

Hours later, the sun had fully set over the metropolis...

Director Vance was pacing the length of the conference table. The integration paperwork was fully drafted, sitting in a neat, perfect stack on the desk pad.

He had expected Jude and Harper to arrive hours ago to sign the merger.

Glancing at his gold Rolex, Vance finally lost his patience and reached for the secure landline in the center of the table. He dialed Harper’s direct encrypted channel.

"Harper?" Vance asked eagerly the moment the line connected. "Is Mr. Lawson en route? The legal team is standing by. We need to finalize the structural integration before the European markets open tomorrow morning."

There was a long pause on the other end of the line.

"I’m sorry, Arthur," Harper’s voice echoed quietly through the speaker. "Jude is not coming to the tower tonight. In fact, he is permanently relocating his operations."

Vance stopped pacing, his bushy eyebrows crashing together in confusion.

"Relocating?" Vance asked, his pulse beginning to race. "Why? Did Julian offend him again? I’ll fire the boy right now if I have to. We cannot afford to disrupt the integration!"

Harper hesitated, and Vance could hear the weight of her decision through the encrypted static.

"No, Arthur. Julian has nothing to do with it," Harper said, taking a slow breath. "It’s because Jude and I just formally severed our professional relationship. I officially terminated my employment contract with Lawson Capital tonight. The corporate partnership is dissolved."

"What?!" Director Vance felt a jolt strike his chest, as if a localized EMP had just detonated inside his heart.

"You... you terminated the contract?" Vance whispered, his vision swimming.

"Yes. Jude is establishing a new headquarters for Lawson Capital, entirely independent of Apex Media," Harper confirmed.

Director Vance’s knees buckled.

He dropped into his chair, the phone receiver slipping from his trembling fingers.

His grand visions of a global monopoly shattered.

His entire legacy, the glorious empire he had just spent the afternoon boasting about to his rivals, was built on the foundation of their partnership...

With Jude Lawson walking away from the studio, taking his federal contracts and multi-billion-dollar assets with him, Apex Media was instantly isolated.

Vance stared blankly at the stack of useless paperwork, unable to believe that his golden ticket was gone...
