Chapter 507 - 399: Vampire Count Camille
Chapter 507: Chapter 399: Vampire Count Camille
Alex immediately dispatched ten of his most elite Earth Dragon Knights. They mounted their menacing steeds and charged toward the logging camp.
The thunderous sound of ten Earth Dragons’ heavy steps echoed through the valley.
Before long, they had charged up to the entrance of the logging camp.
However, the logging camp remained deathly silent, showing no response.
The courtyard was deserted.
The doors and windows of the cabins were shut tight.
The entire scene was eerie.
Just as Alex was about to order his Knights to enter and search the cabins, chaos erupted!
WHOOSH! WHOOSH! WHOOSH!
Dozens of dark figures suddenly burst forth from the rooftops and shadows of the cabins, completely without warning.
Vampires!
Each Vampire had a deathly pale face, sharp fangs, and eyes that glinted with bloodthirsty red light.
They were astonishingly fast, like streaks of black Lightning, and pounced on the Earth Dragon Knights in an instant.
"Ambush! Formation!"
Alex reacted in a flash, thrusting his Long Spear forward with a furious roar.
The Earth Dragon Knights were all battle-hardened elites. They immediately tightened their formation, using their Earth Dragons’ massive bodies as mobile Barriers to form a small, back-to-back defensive circle.
CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!
The Vampires’ sharp claws struck the Knights’ Armor and Weapons, producing a series of metallic clashes.
These Vampires were far from weak; most of them possessed the strength of a Tier Two Knight.
Watching this scene unfold, Ed showed not a hint of panic.
He simply gazed coldly at the distant battlefield and slowly raised his right hand.
"Moonlight Knight Order!"
"Charge!"
As he swung his right hand down decisively...
"Kill!"
Nearly two hundred Moonlight Knights surged down the hillside like a flash flood.
The torrent of steel they formed crashed directly toward the small logging camp.
The Vampires besieging the small squad of Earth Dragon Knights in the logging camp clearly hadn’t expected a large force to be lying in ambush.
They all froze for a moment at the thunderous sound of hooves.
In that brief moment of hesitation, the vanguard of the Moonlight Knight Order was already upon them.
SHLUK! SHLUK! SHLUK!
The sharp Knight’s Lances easily pierced through the Vampires’ bodies.
The Vampires, who had held the absolute advantage just moments before, proved as fragile as paper before the elite Moonlight Knight Order.
Their resistance was feeble and powerless.
In less than ten minutes, the dozens of Vampires in the logging camp had been completely slaughtered.
Under the sunlight, their corpses rapidly dissolved into wisps of black smoke and dissipated into the air.
"Sweep the battlefield!"
Ed commanded.
The Knights immediately dismounted and began to inspect the cabins.
Raylo, riding Baofeng, slowly descended into the logging camp’s courtyard.
He surveyed the wreckage-strewn ground, his brow furrowed.
’These must just be small fry.’
’The Domain Level Vampire Count isn’t here.’
’It seems this place really is just a decoy, an outpost meant to throw us off.’
’The main Vampire force must have gone into the Secret Silver Ore mine.’
Soon enough, the Knights searching the cabins made a discovery.
"My Lord! We’ve found something!"
a Knight shouted from inside the largest cabin.
Raylo went inside.
A massive bearskin rug was spread across the cabin floor.
When the Knight pulled the rug aside, a pitch-black entrance leading underground appeared before everyone.
"Looks like this is the place,"
Raylo said, looking at the entrance.
Ed stepped forward and asked for orders.
"My Lord, should I take some men down?"
Raylo glanced at the pitch-black tunnel and said,
"I’ll go down with you."
Then, he looked at Kado beside him.
"Kado, you and your men will stand guard outside."
"Rest assured, My Lord!"
Then, he turned to Ed and Alex.
"Ed, pick twenty Elite Knights to clear the way."
"Alex, you lead the main body of Knights and provide support from behind."
Raylo knew that the Domain Level Vampire Count was very likely hiding deep within the mine.
"Yes, My Lord!"
they all responded in unison.
The inside of the mine was much more spacious than they had imagined.
The walls were embedded with glowing Fluorescent Stones, casting a faint blue light that made the entire mine flicker between brightness and shadow.
The mine was filled with puddles of water and loose rock.
The Knights all gripped their Weapons tightly, cautiously scanning their surroundings.
The party advanced in silence.
Aside from their own footsteps and breathing, not another sound could be heard in the mine.
This deathly silence was more oppressive than any battle cry.
They had advanced several hundred meters.
The tunnel ahead began to widen.
Discarded pickaxes and carts were scattered everywhere.
Clearly, they had entered the mining area of the Silver Mine.
Just then, Ed, who was at the head of the group, suddenly stopped and raised his right hand.
The party behind him stopped at once, everyone holding their breath.
"Something’s coming."
Ed said in a low voice.
The words had barely left his mouth.
"SQUEAK SQUEAK SQUEAK!"
A shrill, rat-like squeaking came from a dark corner up ahead.
