Chapter 508 - 399: Vampire Count Camille
Chapter 508: Chapter 399: Vampire Count Camille
Immediately after, a dense, dark swarm of creatures burst forth from the shadows.
Blood Bats!
Hundreds of fist-sized Blood Bats converged into a black torrent, sweeping toward them with a foul, bloody stench.
These Blood Bats were the most common servants and cannon fodder used by Vampires.
While individually weak, they were numerous, fearless in the face of death, and incredibly difficult to deal with.
The Knights unleashed their Fighting Spirit and began hacking away at the Blood Bats.
Soon, all the Blood Bats had been slaughtered.
Just as the Knights thought the crisis was over...
SWISH! SWISH! SWISH!
Dozens of dark figures emerged from the shadows.
Vampires!
A faint black mist shrouded the bodies of these Vampires.
Their faces were twisted into savage and cruel smiles.
The battle erupted in an instant.
The Knights of the Moonlight Knight Order immediately charged forward, clashing with the Vampires.
These Vampires were clearly the elite of the Crimson Bloodline, far stronger than the ones they had encountered at the logging camp.
Every single one of them possessed the strength of at least a Tier Two Knight.
Furthermore, their physical conditioning far surpassed that of Human Knights of the same tier.
Their Power, speed, and reflexes were all terrifyingly high.
For a moment, even the elite Moonlight Knight Order was locked in a difficult battle.
Knights were constantly being wounded by the Vampires’ sharp claws, blood flowing freely from their injuries.
Raylo’s brow furrowed.
He did not make a move.
He knew this was still just the appetizer.
The real heavy hitter was still waiting for him further in.
’I can’t waste too much energy and Fighting Spirit here.’
His gaze shifted to the Earth Dragon Knights at the rear of the formation.
"Alex!"
"Here, my lord!"
"Have the Earth Dragon Knights form three-man squads and advance!"
"Yes, my lord!"
Alex immediately issued the order.
Ten Earth Dragon Knights advanced.
The Earth Dragon Knights were Black Stone Territory’s heavy cavalry unit.
When mounted on their Earth Dragons, they were the most formidable of Heavy Knights.
But even on foot, with their Heavy Armor and Two-Handed Greatswords, they were reapers on the battlefield.
The ten Earth Dragon Knights advanced, holding back the Vampires’ assault inside the mine tunnel and forcing them back into the darkness, step by step.
After leaving a dozen corpses behind, the Vampires fled into the depths of the darkness.
"Keep moving forward!"
Raylo commanded.
The party stepped over the Vampire corpses and continued deeper into the mine.
The further they went, the wider the mine tunnels became.
Caverns of various sizes had been carved out of the walls.
Some of the caverns were filled with piles of excavated ore.
Others emanated a nauseating, coppery stench. They seemed to be prisons used to hold "blood stock."
Raylo paid the caverns no mind. His objective was clear: find the Vampire Count.
Just then, two screams of agony suddenly echoed from up ahead.
They were the screams of Knights!
The color drained from Raylo’s face.
The scene ahead opened into a massive cavern, like a subterranean palace.
The cavern’s ceiling was embedded with hundreds of luminous Crystal Stones, illuminating the entire space.
In the center of the cavern was a Blood Pool, filled with viscous, dark-red blood that was constantly bubbling.
Evidently, the Crimson Bloodline organization had been operating within this Silver Mine for quite some time.
Surrounding the Blood Pool stood over a hundred Vampires dressed in black, formal aristocratic attire.
And before the Blood Pool, a handsome young man with a sinister air was holding a glass of fresh blood, watching them with great interest.
He wore a magnificent black tailcoat, and a playful smile graced his pale face.
The terrifying pressure of a Domain Level Powerhouse radiated from him without restraint.
Clearly, he was the Count of the Crimson Bloodline.
And at his feet lay the bodies of two men in the Armor of the Moonlight Knight Order.
Their throats had been torn open by claws, and blood pooled on the ground.
"Welcome to my palace, humans."
The Vampire Count set down his glass and slowly rose to his feet.
"I’ve prepared a grand banquet especially to welcome you."
As soon as he finished speaking...
"Heh heh heh..."
A series of hair-raising, strange laughs echoed from all around the cavern.
Immediately after, hundreds of dark figures shot out from the cavern’s shadows and from behind the Blood Pool, completely surrounding Raylo and his men.
The atmosphere in the cavern instantly grew taut to the breaking point.
"My lord, we’re surrounded," Ed said from beside him.
He had already drawn his Long Sword, his Fighting Spirit surging around him, ready to leap into battle at a moment’s notice.
"There are too many of them, and the terrain is against us."
Alex also moved closer, his voice equally grim.
They were currently positioned at the cavern’s entrance, in a long, narrow passageway.
The enemy, however, occupied the entire open cavern and could attack them from all sides.
"Heh heh heh..."
The surrounding Vampires let out piercing, strange laughs. Their crimson eyes filled with bloodthirsty greed as they stepped out of the shadows, tightening the encirclement.
The Knights stood back-to-back, gripping their weapons tightly, fine beads of sweat forming on their brows.
"Don’t be so tense, my guests."
The Vampire Count savored the fear on their faces as if he were watching a magnificent play.
He swirled the stem glass in his hand, the dark-red liquid within sloshing gently.
"My name is Camille, a Count of the Crimson Bloodline. It is your honor to die at my hands."
"And now, as a reward for your courage in trespassing upon my domain, I shall grant you... eternal death."
The moment he finished speaking, the surrounding Vampires let out excited roars and prepared to pounce.
"Wait a moment."
Just then, Raylo’s calm voice broke the tense, sword-drawn atmosphere.
Everyone’s gaze fell upon him.
Count Camille watched him with great interest, seemingly curious to hear what this human leader had to say before his death.
"A Count, are you?" Raylo said mockingly.
"I admit, you’ve put on quite a show. The venue is well-chosen, too. It really fits the style of a sewer rat like you."
Camille’s expression darkened slightly.
"However, you seem to have misunderstood one thing," Raylo said.
"Oh? And what is that?" Camille asked.
"You think this is your home ground?"
Sun, who was on Raylo’s shoulder, leaped lightly into the air and dispelled its Transformation Magic.
ROAR!
A clear, resonant dragon’s cry exploded throughout the entire cavern!
A golden light erupted from its body, like a sun rising in the darkness, instantly illuminating the entire cavern as if it were day.
The dazzling radiance made all the Vampires scream in pain as they instinctively shielded their eyes with their hands.
The light faded.
A behemoth over a hundred meters long appeared before everyone.
Its entire body was covered in scales that looked as if they were forged from Gold, each one shimmering with a sun-like brilliance.
Its form was majestic and elegant, yet it exuded a sense of explosive Power.
A pair of enormous Dragon Wings were folded at its sides, and a solar radiance seemed to flow across their membranes.
Its massive draconic head was held high, a pair of golden dragon eyes looking down dispassionately at the insignificant Vampires below.
The Golden Dragon, Sun!
"A dragon... It’s a dragon! A Golden Dragon!"
"My heavens! How is this possible!"
Shrieks filled with terror and dread echoed throughout the cavern.
The smile on Count Camille’s face froze.
He never would have imagined that this human army was hiding a real Giant Dragon!
And it was a Golden Dragon, a creature that was the natural enemy of all beings of darkness like them!
"Now, do you still find this amusing?"
Raylo’s icy voice rang in Camille’s ears like a death knell.
ROAR!
Sun roared again, its unique Domain instantly unfurling!
Solar Furnace!
