Chapter 756: Chapter 519: The Secret of the Nine-headed Demon Serpent and the Divine Artifact "Heart of Serenity

"Master Delin."

Raylo returned to his senses and gave Mage Delin a slight nod.

"I was just wondering what the world will be like after tomorrow."

Raylo said softly, gazing out the window at the deep night sky.

Mage Delin followed his gaze and fell silent for a moment as well.

"Regardless of the outcome..."

He began slowly.

"We must face it."

"Aside from the World Destruction Level seniors who spend their years traveling and exploring Beyond the Heavens, we are practically the most powerful beings in this world."

"We are this world’s last line of defense."

Deeply moved, Raylo said,

"With great Power comes great responsibility. Mage Delin, you and the Legends present here are the backbone of humanity..."

Mage Delin turned his head.

"’With great Power comes great responsibility?’"

Mage Delin looked at Raylo and sighed with admiration.

"Raylo, I never expected someone so young to have such insight. You’ve truly surprised me."

"Did you know?"

"Before today, it had been over a century since the twelve of us old-timers had gathered together like this."

"We each have our own research, our own... Domain to be proud of."

"We grew accustomed to solitude, to exploring the truths of this world in our own ways."

"But today, you brought us all together again."

A complex light flickered in Mage Delin’s eyes.

"You’ve shown us a threat... one more important, more urgent, than any of our individual research."

"You also helped us rediscover the most fundamental responsibility of being a ’Mage’—a duty we had long since forgotten, buried in dusty old tomes."

"So, in a way, we should... thank you."

Mage Delin’s words sent a warm current through Raylo’s heart.

He had never expected Master Delin to say something like this to him.

"Master, you’re too kind."

Raylo shook his head with a wry smile.

"I was just... trying to save my own skin."

"I never thought I’d cause such a world-shaking commotion!"

Mage Delin chuckled and clapped Raylo on the shoulder.

"Just to save your own skin, you dared to provoke a Catastrophe Level Angel of Death and even scheme against that Swamp Tyrant."

"You’ve got more nerve than anyone I know, kid."

Mage Delin added with a chuckle,

"I have a feeling the Nine-headed Demon Serpent is hiding a great secret..."

"You can’t advance to the World Destruction Level just by hibernating. Its slumber of a thousand years is merely a facade. In truth, it has been using this ’secret’ to slowly climb the steps toward the World Destruction Level all this time."

Mage Delin stared out at the night, only snapping back to reality after a long moment.

"If we make it back from this alive,"

"I’ll give you a gift to help you advance to the Catastrophe Level."

Mage Delin’s words made Raylo’s heart skip a beat.

"Thank you for your generous offer, Master!"

Raylo said solemnly, suppressing his excitement.

"Don’t be so quick to thank me."

Mage Delin waved his hand.

"The premise is that we make it back alive."

With that, he stood up, raised his wine glass, and addressed everyone present in a clear voice.

"Everyone, the night grows late."

"Rest and gather your strength. Prepare to welcome... the dawn."

And with that, the banquet concluded.

The Legendary Mages left the banquet hall one by one.

They said nothing more.

But in their resolute backs, Raylo could see it... a kind of solemn bravery, a willingness to face death without fear.
