"What are you talking about?" Ren Yuanyang was exasperated. "I’m not hallucinating, and I didn’t eat any poison mushrooms! It’s probably because my Mental Energy is special. I can communicate with small animals."

Ren Yuanyang repeated the explanation he’d just come up with.

Qin Haonan froze again, then exclaimed, "Chief, your Mental Energy is incredible! If we raise other animals in the future, couldn’t we form an animal army? With jackals, wolves, tigers, and leopards all fighting for us, we’d be unstoppable!"

"It’s a nice dream, but the reality is harsh. Not only can we not find any animals right now, but my Mental Energy isn’t strong enough to communicate with larger ones yet."

"We can find animals gradually, and your Mental Energy can be improved over time. As long as it’s enough for now, that’s what counts!" Qin Haonan was optimistic. He then asked again, "Chief, did you let all these Evolutionary white mice out as part of a plan?"

After their conversation, Qin Haonan looked at the little white mouse before him and found it looking more adorable than ever.

Just then, Si Youqin hurried over from a distance.

"Minister Qin, we’re spotting these white mice in a lot of places. They’re too fast for us to catch!"

Her voice was filled with worry, but Qin Haonan just smiled. "No need to catch them. Just tell everyone else not to panic. You can consider them the base’s pets."

"What? But they could damage the plants!" Si Youqin exclaimed in surprise.

"Don’t worry," Qin Haonan replied. "The base will feed them at set times and in designated spots. We’ll also give them things to gnaw on."

"Okay! I’ll go tell them right away!" Si Youqin turned and left.

He found Lin Mu and his group and told them not to hunt the white mice, giving them the same explanation: the mice were the base’s pets.

Ren Yuanyang didn’t tell Lin Mu’s group that the mice had patrol duties, so they naturally assumed they were just pets.
