Global Game: I Have Portable Store
Chapter 1025 - 315: Factory (2)
In a century, the Wodan Empire has acted like a core driving the entire world.
The prosperity and strength of the Wodan Empire are things other countries can only look up to. Fortunately, Wodan has never had any intention of conquest, allowing the world to maintain relative peace.
Walking to a vendor displaying various random items, Su Changxing immediately noticed an inconspicuous piece of bone armor, about half the size of a palm, partially exposed among the clutter. It was a genuine skeleton rune, engraved with rune patterns and possessing magical power, but it was just a fragment.
Su Changxing had previously obtained an entire skeleton rune, which is still in the Pocket Galaxy. However, it doesn’t serve much purpose for him now, its only value being as a keepsake.
Su Changxing looked at the vendor wrapped tightly in a mask, picked up the fragment of the skeleton rune, and asked:
"How much is this?"
The vendor glanced at Su Changxing and said resolutely, "One hundred Lam, no haggling!"
Su Changxing smiled slightly, "Isn’t it a bit expensive? Your items are just some worthless junk, selling them at such high prices might mean no one would buy them."
One hundred Lam wasn’t considered expensive for a real skeleton rune, but for fake goods, it’s extraordinarily pricy. Almost everyone believes that such bone armor wouldn’t be genuine, at least not here.
The vendor continued, "How much I want to sell it for is my business, whether you buy it or not is yours, it’s a hundred and that’s that, no bargaining."
Su Changxing thought this person might know that this item is indeed a skeleton rune and decided not to fuss any further, he took out the money and said:
"A hundred Lam is a hundred Lam then, I’ll take this."
The vendor seemed surprised to see Su Changxing so decisively taking out one hundred Nanmu and handing it to him, then bowed deeply and said softly:
"Mage master, could you come inside, I have an important matter to discuss."
Of course, this item was meant to lure him.
Outside of Wodan, in Hell, even though mages are heretics, they aren’t strictly controlled, and their existence is covertly accepted.
Su Changxing put away the skeleton rune fragment in his hand and smiled, saying, "If there’s anything, just speak here, there’s no need to be so secretive."
The vendor was greatly shocked, considering how low-key they had been due to the illegality of mage identity, yet Su Changxing seemed utterly indifferent to these concerns.
It was obvious that quite a few glances were directed their way.
The vendor took two steps forward and said quietly, "I am selling these things for my boss, our factory has recently experienced supernatural events, many people have died because of it, and we need a mage to perform an exorcism. But finding a real mage is difficult, so we resorted to this way."
Darkness
Supernatural events?
Su Changxing displayed a hint of interest; in this world, it’s not easy for supernatural events to occur, since extraordinary power is suppressed, causing a commotion requires considerable strength,
"Just as I have nothing to do, let’s go take a look."
The vendor didn’t expect Su Changxing to be so easily persuaded and was prepared to offer substantial terms, quickly added:
"Our boss said that as long as the mage master can help with the exorcism, a significant reward can be provided."
Shen Jinxuan seriously asked, "Specifically, how much?"
The vendor considered for a moment and said, "Our boss said once the exorcism is completed, we’ll pay three thousand Lam, of course, if the mage master wishes to settle property here, that’s also possible."
This didn’t interest Su Changxing much, he urged, "Let’s go, let’s see the situation first, where is your factory located."
The vendor removed his mask, revealing a young face with rough, dark skin: "My name is Yeluo, the factory is by the seaside."
"From several weeks ago, people started dying in the factory for various reasons, and as a result, it completely shut down, all equipment was turned off, but people still hear the sound of engines at night."
At this point, Yeluo showed a look of fear.
Su Changxing asked, "Are there people inside the factory now?"
Yeluo shook his head, "No, it was sealed off weeks ago, no one is allowed inside, but some disappearances happened around it, unsure if it’s related to the factory."
Su Changxing nodded, "Haven’t you sought other mages before?"
Yeluo sighed, "It’s not easy to find one, master, you’re the first mage we’ve found, we’re too secluded here, probably not many mages are willing to come."
Su Changxing continued, "Isn’t there an All Beings Sect church here? Have you reached out to them?"
Yeluo nodded, "Of course we did, at the beginning, our boss contacted the church priest, but when he came over, he found nothing, saying everything was normal."
"Yet we all know something is definitely wrong in the factory, otherwise so many people wouldn’t die."
They traveled along a path lined with dense shrubs until they reached near the factory. The walls outside the factory were overgrown with algae, resembling a long-abandoned site.
Shen Jinxuan observed the scene and remarked, "This factory’s been here for a long time, the walls are covered in algae, and ivy."
Yeluo showed a bitter smile, "Not at all, it was built less than a year ago, and this is one of the factory’s supernatural events."
"It looks like a long-neglected deteriorated factory, but it was actually just established not long ago, causing our boss significant financial losses. However, that’s a minor issue. The main concern is the constant deaths, though few know about it, it has stirred substantial fear."
