Chapter 1031 - 318: Bright God

  • Next Chapter

Passing through countless spaces, a pair of eyes—eternal, shining like the stars—fixed on him.

Su Changxing knew that was a Divine Spirit, a real Divine Spirit, existing in some unknown time and space, gazing at him across the distant void. Its vast, majestic Power was plainly visible, like an invisible giant hand pressing hard against his forehead, forcing his head down.

Even so, there was no fear. He widened his eyes and stared straight back, locking onto the other, with the greatest courage a mortal can muster!

"Even if you’re a God, so what!"

He linked all the Faith of this world and gathered it at this point, concentrating more than half of the Faith from his Pocket Galaxy, forging a Longsword of ten-thousand-zhang radiance in this Darkness.

Amid countless drifting Bai Yu feathers, he resolutely launched a proactive assault on the God, swinging the Longsword in his hand. He didn’t think about gain or loss, didn’t think about outcome, didn’t think about victory or defeat—only the most reckless courage of a mortal.

It was like two stars colliding and exploding. Space violently shook and twisted; torrents of blood burst from the fleshy walls, while a thousand cries and laughs echoed from all around, as if ten thousand Ghost Souls had been startled awake.

In this exchange, he didn’t gain even the slightest advantage. Instead, he was utterly suppressed. Even though he possessed an immense amount of Faith, he struggled to use it efficiently—like an Ordinary People holding a pistol; even at close range, still hard to hit the target.

Divine Spirits are called Divine Spirits only because one can only look up at them, because all other living beings must look up at them.

Enlightenment flashed through his heart. His understanding of Power’s rules reached toward their essence, as if water flowing naturally into a channel. A promotion that should have taken at least half a month to complete was vaulted through in an instant.

This promotion was different from all before: a complete ascension, filling in the final gap, pushing the path of advancement to its extreme.

In a flash, in less than a millisecond, his life level underwent another great leap, racing toward the extreme, like a blazing sun burning furiously, then constantly tightening inward.

Fire and heat, light and brightness!

[Bright God: Not a God, yet knows what a God is, possessing many penetrating insights into Power and rules. You are drawing near to the Divine Spirit, able to drive almost all Power in the world and Magnification its might ten million times over.

True Half god: With enough Faith as support, you can infinitely strengthen your own Power until it rivals that of a Divine Spirit]

This Ability advanced on the foundation of "Concentrating," becoming so powerful it was astonishing. The boost it gave him was probably far greater than simply advancing to Tier Four.

Su Changxing once more condensed Faith and launched an attack, slowly squeezing the trigger. Innumerable Bai Yu feathers scattered, like tens of millions singing in chorus. A dazzling thread of light like dawn pierced through this pitch-black flesh-and-blood space, like a blade slicing it open, causing part of it to collapse and exposing the outer world.

Seeing this scene, even that Divine Spirit fell silent, having never expected Su Changxing to have grown so powerful—a complete surprise.

This was a Half god, but likewise a Half god whose strength was formidable, not to be underestimated.

Immediately after.

Lightning surged across the sky, and torrential rain poured down.

The Divine Spirit’s aura triggered the world’s backlash; the vast Divine Kingdom Space rapidly dissolved, dispersing like foam.

"I’m going to kill you!" Count Mel roared unwillingly, wanting to lunge forward, but under Jin’s sweeping fire, his body scattered yet again, falling to the floor. His semi-liquid body quickly withered, turning into something like limestone and solidifying on the bed.

The room was still the same room as before. Everything seemed unchanged, except for the gaping hole torn in the ceiling, through which the pitch-black sky could be seen.

That last strike from Su Changxing had forcibly pierced through the Divine Country projected by the Divine Spirit, impacting the real dimension.

"I shouldn’t have to pay for this, right?"

He chuckled and looked back, finding that Yeluo wasn’t dead. Only one arm and one leg had vanished, yet no blood flowed out, as if he had always been missing a leg and an arm.

Yeluo hadn’t been truly dragged into the Divine Country; he was merely affected by being nearby and almost died. Surviving at all counted as ridiculously lucky.

Jin, on the other hand, was completely fine. It seemed the Divine Country simply couldn’t affect her—she herself was a very special existence. It was like her Extraordinary resistance was maxed out; instead, ordinary methods could still pose some threat to her, but regular people’s strength was far inferior to hers.

This place had indeed been surrounded by guards. Su Changxing led Jin away Silent, without anyone noticing, as if vanishing into thin air.

Moments later, guards in blue military uniforms kicked the door open and rushed in.

As for Yeluo, he was left where he lay. Su Changxing couldn’t be bothered to care about what would become of him; after all, he wasn’t much of a good person.

Soon, Priests from the Church also arrived at the Earl’s Mansion with their people. By the time they got there, the guards had already discovered that the Count was dead, leaving behind a bizarre corpse.

"What are you doing here? Are you connected to whoever murdered the Count?" The officer saw these Church believers rush in and questioned them, though his attitude wasn’t overly harsh—after all, the All Beings Sect was spread throughout all of Wodan’s Church.

The female Priest, Annabella, stepped forward, her expression solemn as she said, "Our church just received a revelation from a Divine Spirit, saying an Evil God descended here, so we came specifically to investigate. The Count’s death should be related to the Evil God."
