The officer’s expression changed upon hearing these words, as the various signs at the scene all indicated that this wasn’t a normal murder case; it involved Extraordinary powers. Even the roof had been blown off, yet no one sensed any commotion.

"We received orders from the Earl to surround this place. By the time we arrived, the Earl was already dead."

"The steward said there were a few people who forcibly entered the Earl’s Mansion; it should be them who did this."

Annabella’s face remained unchanged as she calmly said, "According to the prediction we received, the Earl had already been corrupted by the Divine Spirit."

The officer’s face changed drastically; they also had similar suspicions earlier but didn’t dare to speak out, "This..."

Annabella continued with a firm attitude, "Everyone present must undergo our inspection to ensure no other people are corrupted by the Evil God. This concerns the city’s safety; please cooperate."

The Earl’s death was certainly a major event. As per the norm, the whole city should be capturing the assassins. Yet, the matter was overly complex and seemed to involve an Evil God, so they had to report it and wait for orders from the King.

...

"The entire city is locked down now, and no ships are allowed to enter or leave, meaning we might have to stay here for some time," Sean reported after he just gathered news from outside, looking bewildered:

"I don’t know exactly what happened, it seems something went wrong at the Earl’s Mansion. Could the Earl have been killed? It’s quite dramatic that such a thing happened just as we arrived."

"I thought this city would be peaceful."

Su Changxing didn’t tell Sean about the Earl’s matter and thought, "Oh well, it’s not important. We should be able to leave here by noon."

Sean glanced at Jin and tentatively asked, "How are we leaving?"

Su Changxing noticed Sean’s intentions and laughed, "Of course, we’re leaving by rowing. Did you expect a ship to come and pick us up?"

During this time, he could feel gazes from the void sweeping over him, undisguised, filled with blatant malice.

This confrontation seemed to cause subtle changes in many things, at least letting those so-called Gods understand that in this world, it’s not easy to kill him.

In this promotion, he also gained another achievement, laying the foundation for Tier Four. He only needs to accumulate Faith to complete this process.

...

The roar of the Demon Elephant was deafening, shaking the castle walls along with it. Its massive form slowly and shakily approached the wall, and the Legion Magic fell on it like a breeze, causing little damage.

The Demon Elephant has powerful Life Force and high Magic Resistance, being a large war machine enough to destroy the walls built by humans in war.

Linda also threw a fireball at the nearest Demon Elephant; the white flames could pierce through defenses and destroy the Golem’s flesh, but were not lethal.

She threw more than a dozen blazing fireballs in succession to finally bring down that Demon Elephant. Its huge body slowly fell, causing a loud crash, crushing many nearby demons into pulp.

Yet meanwhile.

Linda also felt a trace of fatigue; casting magic consumes Magic Power as well as Spirit. With the blessing of Faith, she could certainly gain massive Magic Power, but human Spiritual Power is ultimately limited, unable to maintain prolonged high-intensity magic output.

Just as she was about to seek help from the God, the God seemed to have foreseen her intention.

A white light flashed before her eyes.

She learned a special magic, "This shouldn’t be called magic; it should be called Divine Art."

She reacted belatedly and then ran along the castle wall towards the Mage Legion’s position.

"Saintess, where are we going?" Dale hurriedly followed to ask while opening a Magic Shield to block the throwing objects flying up from below.

Linda’s face showed excitement as she said enthusiastically, "The God has given a revelation; I already know how to win this war!"

Dale was stunned for a moment, eyes wide open, "Really?"

Linda affirmed, "Of course it’s true. This isn’t just about this war; perhaps we have ways to deal with the Demon Race army in the future."

At this moment, a cry came from the horizon; a shadow rushed towards them from the side at extreme Speed.

The Speed was fast and very covert, leaving everyone unresponsive, except Lauren, who was the first to meet it with a sword, standing in front of the Saintess: "Protect the Saintess!"

Lauren was sent flying more than ten meters, landing on the edge of the castle wall, almost falling off, but managed to gain time, preventing Linda from being hit immediately.

It was a Black Feathered Birdman, holding dual blades, hidden in the clouds, having eyed Linda, the powerful Mage, and just then seized the opportunity to launch an attack.

The Birdman’s movements were exceptionally swift; with one missed strike, he attacked Linda again.

But by then, Linda had already reacted, and a blazing white fireball sent him flying.

More Black Feathered Birdmen rushed towards their position, too numerous for the Mage Legion to intercept swiftly.

"Saintess, you go first, I’ll hold them back!" Dale shouted, waving the Magic Staff, forming a hurricane in mid-air, blowing the approaching Birdmen away.

Linda nodded, turned, and ran towards the Mage Legion’s position. With the blessing of Magic, her Speed was also exceptionally swift, quickly running across most of the castle wall.
