"You can still fight~"

A low whisper sounded.

Adis opened his eyes amidst death and saw the presence standing in the shadows, majestic and bright, seemingly surrounded by stars.

At the moment the Pope was pinched to death, a large rift opened in the faith of the Housheng Sect, like a dam breaking open, and the flood outside poured in. This flood was the faith of the All Beings Sect, occupying most of the Southern Continent, with a vast number of followers.

Adis died, but was resurrected by the God, standing up again in faith, his broken body restored, and powerful strength swirling through every strand of flesh and blood.

"Hmm?"

A cold snort echoed.

Adis’s body exploded again, flesh and bone scattered on the floor, the high platform, the wooden pillars, the corpses.

The crack in mid-air widened, and a massive monster like a long-haired ape emerged from it, missing an arm, with black blood pouring down like rain, eroding large and small pits in the street and crushing heads into bloody pulp or corroding them into a pile of broken bones.

Such a terrifying monster only made people feel invincible.

Yet, the church army of the Housheng Sect still organized and resisted. Their willpower was stronger than the average army, fearless in the face of life and death.

Over a hundred firearms aimed at the monster’s body and fired, but the bullets only created barely noticeable small wounds on its enormous form.

The surrounding space was filled with countless dense black cracks, as if the space here was about to shatter.

No one knew what was behind the shattered space. Was it another world, or something else?

The seemingly aware monster took two steps forward and slapped into the crowd of believers, dozens crushed and turned into meat patties, causing the ground to shake violently, affecting everyone in the Municipal Square, with visible cracks appearing in the ground and whole slabs of hard stone bricks splitting apart.

As large numbers of believers died, the faith gathered by the Housheng Sect began to disintegrate, becoming fragmented, like shattered glass, no longer holding together.

"Hmph."

Another cold snort resounded.

The gorilla-like monster’s other arm was also severed by flames, falling to the ground and spanning the entire street.

This was a High-Level World with a strong self-protection capability, whose rules could restrict Gods, deterring them from directly intervening.

Even the most powerful Demon would find only a dead end here.

The harder it was to obtain something, the sweeter and more delicious it was. The benefits gained after acquiring it were even greater.

This world has been coveted by many Divine Spirits, constantly competing with each other, over a period of thousands of years, witnessing the rise and fall of several empires, until today.

What else could the Divine Spirits compete for but faith? And the faith in this world was so special that even Divine Spirits would go mad for it, seeking any means to intervene.

Adis rose anew in black flames, stood up from the ground, and with the protection of the Divine Spirit, he was invincible, able to rise again no matter how many times he fell.

He picked up the signal gun that had fallen to the ground and fired it into the sky. The signal flare, flashing red, soared into the sky, visible throughout Hero City.

At the same time.

The gorilla-like monster had been severed into seven or eight pieces, lying on the ground, its flesh constantly wriggling.

The arriving church army surrounded them, looking at Adis with hesitation, not daring to approach, firing their firearms continuously instead.

Adis, his body pierced by over a hundred bullets, stood unwaveringly as if unscathed.

"The sinful should be judged, repent!" He boldly declared towards the followers wearing the Black Iron Masks.

Then.

With empty hands, he charged forward, sharp nails like blades, slashing through the crowd. Shortly after, his head was cut off by a Housheng Sect follower with a long knife, yet he stood back up after a few seconds and continued fighting.

The flowing blood made him stronger, noticeably increasing his power and speed with the ongoing battle.

Facing such an unkillable monster, the church army showed signs of disarray, their faith seemingly shaken by this series of events.

At this moment.

Antusen finally arrived with his men, looking battered, his chest fabric torn and continuously seeping blood.

"What is this?"

He looked at the absurd scene in the square, disbelief on his face, thinking they had only come to assassinate the Pope, not anticipating such a city-wide upheaval in Hero City.

Seeing Adis besieged by a group of church soldiers, he unwillingly went to help, firing firearms from afar, using cover along the half-destroyed street.

They were too few in number to have direct combat ability, forced to employ such hit-and-run tactics.

As the signal flare flashed, several artillery shells fell on the east city wall, shattering the eastern city gates, sending debris flying, and causing many guarding soldiers to fall from the crumbling walls.

"It has come to this after all." Nobu sighed, looking at the signal flare flashing red in the sky.

Yifa led the Temple Knight Order in a frontal assault on Hero City, charging through the breached eastern gates, with the defending forces quickly falling back, retreating down the street inside the city.

No one expected the All Beings Church to launch a mad assault on Hero City, seemingly disregarding the Empire entirely.

Following the breach in the eastern gate, cannon fire began to sound from the other directions, as believers in white church robes poured in.

"Surrender and you won’t be killed!"

"Surrender and you won’t be killed!"

Believers on horseback galloped along the streets, shouting all the way, their voices turning hoarse but ceaseless.

All the civilians trembled in their homes, still unclear about what exactly had happened, only knowing that a sudden war had engulfed the city, gunfire and cannon shots resounding everywhere.

The All Beings Sect had mastered the latest technology from Maelon, with conveniently propelled artillery of unimaginable range and power, easily breaching the tall city gates of Hero City.

Hero City was an extraordinarily unique place, embodying the Empire’s faith, a spiritual pillar of the old Empire era.

For any God, such a place was immensely precious, capable of unleashing unimaginable faith.

The stronger the spirit and the firmer the will, the more faith they could provide. A nation with a strong conviction could provide even more faith.

Humans might seem weak and insignificant, yet in truth, they were difficult to tame, having too many thoughts and desires, with tremendous energy within their small souls.

This might be why humans could gradually dominate this era, possessing unimaginable value, even when domesticated, they remained the finest livestock.

Pandas might go extinct, but pigs, cattle, and sheep likely wouldn’t, because humans needed to eat them, willingly nurturing them rather than exterminating them.

Titan Humans went extinct because they were too powerful, like lions and tigers, posing a threat to the existence of Divine Spirits.

Among Divine Spirits, there likely wouldn’t be a Titan Human Protection Association...
