Global Game: I Have Portable Store
Chapter 905 - 257: The Slowly Spinning World
In the battle with the Blazing White Demon.
Su Changxing sensed a sudden explosive growth in his faith, probably a qualitative change triggered by a quantitative one, reaching a certain critical point.
He gained a deeper understanding, a more profound mastery, and proficient use of faith.
He was quite puzzled about what Weilian and others had done to cause such a breakthrough in faith.
He was like an idle company boss who didn’t manage much, and people below generated income on their own, with the company’s profits growing annually.
Or perhaps like a parent who doesn’t pay much attention to their child, plays cards all day, but the child’s grades are excellent, always topping the class, feeling a bit helpless amid inexplicable happiness.
The growth in faith also brought about more changes; the blue sheen in the Pocket Galaxy completely disappeared, seemingly with enough support of faith, the whole world began to slowly spin, gradually breaking free from a static state.
His faith flowed into the Pocket Galaxy like a stream, not consumed but stored in a different place, yet it was enough to kickstart the world.
It seemed this world was missing some substance, something fundamental that a world should have, and faith happened to serve as a substitute.
...
The falling coin hit the ground again, making a crisp sound as it rolled off the cliff, disappearing with the black wind.
Takka looked at the city in the distance shrouded in smoke, fell into silence, with his large, skinny left hand still holding an old camera:
"Failed?"
Countless times he prayed to the God, but ultimately, it was in vain; they abandoned the God, and the God abandoned them.
This is a world rich with magic, inhabited by numerous powerful mages, to the extent of being able to destroy the heavens and the earth, yet somehow ended up in such a predicary state.
Two Verdant Demons chased again from behind, their heads like an octopus, yet ran on the ground like dogs, at a very high speed.
He raised the Magic Staff at his waist with his left hand, muttered spells, the ground cracked, and tons of lava surged towards the two Verdant Demons.
This is Seven-Ring Magic, a spell that can only be cast by a Great Mage, Earth-Splitting Fire, with tremendous destructive power, capable of destroying half a city.
Yet the two Verdant Demons made it through the surging magma effortlessly, receiving no significant damage, only having some of their fur burnt and rolled into charcoal.
This kind of demon is a mage’s nemesis with high Magic Resistance; ordinary magic can hardly harm it, instead it absorbs it, converting into its own energy.
It seemed this demon was born specifically for them; even the mightiest mage would be chased and consumed bit by bit in such an endless pursuit.
In the third era of the new magic age, the Demon Race emerged in this world, its origin unknown, each possessing high magic resistance, naturally a mage’s nemesis.
Before his eyes, the Verdant Demon was particularly so.
Moreover, the Demon Race possessed strong physiques unmatchable by humans; even the most ordinary Armored Demon could fight against ten human soldiers.
At the continuous assault of the Demon Race, the far eastern Golden Empire was the first to collapse, with three hundred thousand troops holding ground outside the Imperial City, fighting to the death, no retreat, until the last man died.
The kingdom was destroyed, the Emperor’s body hung upon a tall banner for six months, until it turned into a mummy.
Alongside, the self-proclaimed strongest human mage Gandalf the Idealist perished, who claimed powers comparable to a Divine Spirit.
Due to the existence of strong mages, people abandoned the belief in Divine Spirits, wondering why one needs to believe in Gods when humans can become Gods.
This, perhaps, is punishment.
Thinking this, Takka, although in utmost despair, did not give up fighting, as mages, possessing the strongest will, even in death they would not submit.
Chanting intricate spells.
A huge Magic Array appeared beneath Takka’s feet, white light flashing, then he vanished on the spot.
The two Verdant Demons seemed no stranger to this, turning heads and running down the mountain; during battles with mages, the longest duration they experienced wasn’t fighting, but chasing.
This spell allows long-distance teleportation, but it’s highly consuming, and won’t be used unless absolutely necessary.
...
As this world began to spin, Su Changxing could see detailed snapshots of the world, only parts, the human occupied sections, while the other parts were shrouded in thick fog, presumably territories occupied by monsters.
This was truly another world under an apocalypse, paused at the brink of its descent.
This world was the Pocket Galaxy, the Pocket Galaxy essentially was this world.
As the world began to rotate, Su Changxing’s control power over the Pocket Galaxy increased once more, probably capable of directly influencing matters within this world.
At this moment.
The Blazing White Demon had already lost its original form, transformed into wild flames, entwining around Su Changxing.
Gusts of burning sensation flowing through him.
Su Changxing’s left eye flickered with white light, simultaneously stirring the data stream in the Pocket Galaxy, radiating a part of the world’s rules from within, enveloping them.
Strong pulling forces spread around like chains, firmly entwining the Blazing White Demon, then dragging it into Pocket Galaxy abruptly.
The true size of such Calamity Level Demon in reality was enormous, suppressed within this space; upon entering the Pocket Galaxy, it continued self-expanding, forming into a flame demon several hundred meters long, blazing white flames raging in the sky, dazzling like a sun.
Simultaneously.
Kata arrived at the foot of Viduo City, looked up at the sky, seeing the appearance of something akin to a second sun, his gaze more solemn: "An unseen kind of Demon Race, considerably powerful."
This Demon Race appeared right above Viduo City, seemingly intent on attacking Viduo City.
Just tens of meters outside Viduo City, massive armies of Demon Race were continuously rushing here, sight couldn’t reach an end.
Like locusts, they burned all villages, towns along their path, leaving behind a sea of corpses, some humans confined as slaves.
Everyone in Viduo City knew they couldn’t hold them off; the fall of the city was inevitable, only time would tell how long they could stand, surrender useless, these were Demon Race, surrender equaled a death sentence.
Thus, they could only fight to the bitter end, until the last person fell, which, at best, could be considered the finest conclusion.
The Blazing White Demon, dragged into Pocket Galaxy by Su Changxing, became immobile, locked tight by the World Power, its body squeezed inch by inch.
Su Changxing wasn’t in a rush to kill the Blazing White Demon; a living demon was more valuable than a dead one, naturally the prime material for ascension.
