‘Useful or not, I’ll take it for now. I might need it later. Even if I can’t use it myself, I can always trade it with others for useful materials.’

The Undead Fortress barreled through the forest, carving out a wide path.

The Tribe scouts observing from a distance were stunned.

It went in. It really went in.

But why hadn’t any Void Creatures attacked the Undead Fortress?

There was no sign of a fight at all.

They could only watch helplessly as the massive Undead Fortress forged ahead.

‘Something’s not right. Could the Void Creatures in the forest have vanished?’

The scouts hesitated, debating whether to follow.

If it were anywhere else, the scouts would have given up, but this was the forest region of the Void Land.

Was there any Tribe that hadn’t coveted the forest?

The forest meant resources—from food and minerals to the ubiquitous trees, all of it was exceptionally valuable.

Unfortunately, the massive number of Void Creatures dwelling within the forest meant the Tribes didn’t dare get too close.

The forests of the Void Land had never been developed; the Tribes could only occupy the grasslands.

Now, the Undead had given them a glimmer of hope.

‘If the Undead can pass through, does that mean we have a chance, too?’

The mere thought was exhilarating.

It was too late to send someone back for instructions. The Undead Fortress was moving quickly and had already ventured deep into the forest in a short time.

Even if they did go back for orders, the scouts knew what their superiors would think.

They would definitely be ordered to follow and investigate!

‘No need to overthink it. In the face of such enormous potential gains, the lives of scouts like us are worthless. If we die, we die.’

After much hesitation, the scouts gritted their teeth. ‘Fortune favors the bold, while the timid starve. Let’s risk it!’

‘If the Void Creatures are truly gone from the forest, bringing that news back would earn a reward big enough to live on for the rest of our lives. We’d never have to take risks again.’

Figures darted out from all directions, rushing toward the Undead Fortress, which was still faintly visible ahead.

They had to hurry and get a little closer to the Undead Fortress.

Before, they had kept their distance, afraid of startling the Undead and provoking a fight.

But now, they needed to get closer. If they really ran into Void Creatures, perhaps the Undead Fortress could provide some cover, giving them a chance to escape.

All the scouts were thinking along the same lines.

The moment they entered the forest, everything changed.

The Void Creatures didn’t attack the Undead Fortress because they sensed the aura of a Void Lord emanating from it.

The Undead Fortress was protected by a Lord, so they couldn’t attack it. But the scouts trailing behind had no such protection.

So why wouldn’t they attack?

‘The nerve of these little pests, brazenly entering the forest!’

‘Did you think we’d just let you walk all over us?!’

Swarms of Void Creatures appeared, a dense, teeming mass charging toward the pursuing scouts.

“Void Creatures!”

“Dammit, why are there so many bugs?”

“Help me! Ah—”

“Retreat, retreat!”

Under the Void Creatures’ assault, the scouts instantly fell into a panic.

Only then did they understand: the Undead must have used some unknown method to prevent the Void Creatures from attacking.

But this realization came too late. Escape was now impossible.

The Void Creatures were already strong, and this time, the scouts had actively entered the forest, provoking a retaliatory attack from an astonishingly large number of them.

Li Ziyu stood atop the main tower, looking back. It seemed a battle had broken out over there.

‘What’s going on? Who are the Void Creatures fighting?’

He scratched his head, looking puzzled.

‘It doesn’t matter who they’re fighting. I don’t know any of them anyway.’ He was just indulging a moment of idle curiosity before dismissing it from his mind.

Only after entering the forest region did Li Ziyu realize just how vast it was.

His fortress, dozens of meters tall, was inconspicuous amidst the towering ancient trees that were commonly over a hundred meters high.

The farther he advanced, the more giant trees there were.

These trees were too thick, so Li Ziyu had the Fortress try to avoid them, but for the most part, it still maintained a straight course.

After traveling for three straight days, they still hadn’t broken out of the forest, which was starting to give Li Ziyu a headache.

“Bebuta, just how big is this forest?”

Li Ziyu asked Bebuta, who was beside him, his gaze sweeping over the endless green.

The forest was a much better experience than the Wasteland or the grasslands. At least the scenery was beautiful, with all sorts of trees, exotic flowers and plants, and various creatures. Every day brought a new surprise.

In three days, Bebuta had fully recovered, looking as if he had never been in a battle at all.

“I don’t know.”

Bebuta shook his head matter-of-factly.

‘The size of the forest?’

‘Why would a Void Lord like me care about something like that?’

“Halt our advance,” Bebuta said suddenly.

Li Ziyu frowned slightly, ordered the Fortress to a stop, and looked at Bebuta in confusion.

‘Is there a Void Energy Crystal Ore Vein nearby?’

“Any farther and we’ll be in another Lord’s territory. We need to communicate with them before we can continue.”

Seeing the perplexed look on Li Ziyu’s face, Bebuta explained.

Bebuta was not the only Void Lord in the Void Land. There were several others in the forest; otherwise, there wouldn’t be so many Void Creatures here.

Li Ziyu sucked in a sharp breath.

‘Damn it, why didn’t you say something so important sooner!’

‘We almost had a serious problem.’

Bebuta’s aura was effective against other Void Creatures, but in the eyes of a Void Lord of the same Level, wouldn’t it be a blatant provocation?
