Chapter 286: Chapter 231: Mine 2

"So what’s our plan, Bena?" another team member asked.

"We’ll split into teams, each with a clear mission and objective," Bena began, assigning tasks. "Team One is responsible for communicating with the ’Oasis Shelter’; they need our clean water source. Team Two is responsible for contacting the ’Iron Fortress’; they’re very interested in our high-efficiency energy converters."

Bena continued, "Our third team is responsible for preparing the trade goods, ensuring our specialty products are in optimal condition. Team Four is in charge of security. We need to guarantee safety during the trade."

"Captain, what if something unexpected happens during the trade?" someone asked.

"Our strength lies in our preparation and teamwork," Bena replied. "Even if the unexpected happens, we must be able to respond swiftly. Our security team needs to be ready to handle any sudden developments."

After assigning the tasks, Bena once again stressed the importance of the mission and encouraged everyone to give it their all.

"I know this won’t be an easy path, but our unity and wisdom will be our greatest weapons. Let’s face this challenge together, for the future of the shelter and for the future of us all."

A round of enthusiastic applause filled the conference room, everyone inspired by Bena’s words.

At Bena’s command, the team began their tense and orderly preparations. They knew the journey to the trading post would be full of unknowns and danger, so they had to be completely prepared.

"Check your equipment and make sure all your tools and weapons are in optimal condition," Bena said to the team. "We don’t know what we’ll encounter on the road, so we must be ready to handle any situation."

The team members moved quickly, checking their weapons to ensure every bullet was properly loaded and every knife was razor-sharp. At the same time, they also inspected their gear, including communication devices, navigation tools, and first-aid kits.

"Our water and food supplies must be ample as well," Bena added. "Resources are scarce in the wasteland; we can’t rely on resupplying along the way."

The team’s logistics expert began taking inventory of their supplies, preparing enough food and fresh water to ensure the group wouldn’t be affected by hunger and thirst during the long trek.

"Bena, our vehicles are ready," a team member reported. "All of them have been inspected and fueled, ready for our journey across the wasteland."

Bena nodded, satisfied with the team’s efficiency. "Good. We’re leaving immediately."

On Bena’s command, the team embarked on their journey to the trading post. They rode in specially modified vehicles, capable of navigating the various terrains of the wasteland, from rugged mountain roads to muddy marshes.

Throughout the journey, Bena remained constantly vigilant, knowing that the mutated creatures and hostile raiders of the wasteland were potential threats.

"Everyone stay alert and be ready to deal with any mutated creatures that might appear," Bena said to the team over the radio. "Our vehicles are equipped with defensive measures, but the best defense is to avoid a fight."

The team traveled across the wasteland for several days. They encountered a few small groups of mutated creatures but successfully avoided direct conflict through nimble evasion and strategic maneuvering.

"Bena, something’s not right up ahead," the scout reported. "Looks like a group of raiders is active nearby."

Bena frowned, knowing that an encounter with raiders would likely lead to a conflict. "Avoid them if you can. Our objective is to trade, not to fight. We’ll only counterattack if they attack first."

The team carefully skirted the raiders’ area of activity and continued onward. When they made camp at night, they were extra cautious, making sure the campsite was concealed to avoid drawing unnecessary attention.

A few days later, the team finally approached the trading post. It was a relatively safe, neutral zone where many trading teams from various shelters conducted their business.

"Everyone, get ready. We’re about to start trading," Bena instructed. "Remember our objectives and don’t get distracted by anything else."

The trade specialists on the team began communicating with representatives from the different shelters, showcasing their own shelter’s specialty products and explaining their value and applications in detail.

"Your specialty products are very rare. We’re willing to trade our medical supplies and power equipment for them," a representative from one shelter said.

"Our food supplies are also tight, but we can trade some rare mechanical parts for your clean water," another representative offered.

Throughout the process, Bena and his team demonstrated superb negotiation skills and teamwork. They not only succeeded in trading for much-needed supplies but also established friendly relationships with the other shelters.

With the trades completed, Bena led his team on the return journey. They brought back a bountiful haul, their hearts filled with a sense of accomplishment and hope.

When they returned to the shelter, they were given a hero’s welcome. Their success had not only brought valuable resources to the shelter but had also given its residents hope and confidence.

Bena stood at a high point in the shelter, gazing at the land they had protected with their sweat and wisdom, his heart filled with emotion. He knew that as long as they remained united, there was no difficulty they couldn’t overcome.

"Careful, everyone. We’re about to begin trading," Bena reminded the team. "Stay vigilant and follow the plan."

The first team communicated with the representatives from the Oasis Shelter. They presented samples of their clean water and explained its advantages in detail.

"Your water is remarkably pure, precisely what we need," said the representative from the Oasis Shelter. "We are willing to exchange our medical supplies for it."

The second team traded with the representatives from the ’Iron Fortress.’ They displayed a model of the high-efficiency energy converter and explained its operating principles.

"This type of energy converter is precisely the technology we need," the representative from the ’Iron Fortress’ declared. "We are willing to trade our weapons and defensive equipment for it."

The specialty products prepared by the third team also earned the approval of the other shelter representatives. They exchanged their goods for food, tools, and other necessities.

Under Bena’s command, the trading went very smoothly. Each team acted according to the plan, ensuring the fairness and security of the transactions.

With the trading complete, Bena and his team returned to the shelter with their fruitful results. They had exchanged their specialty products for a large quantity of desperately needed supplies, providing strong support for the shelter’s development.

When Bena and his team returned to the shelter, Ye Yun and all the residents were proud of and grateful for their efforts and success.

"Every one of you is the pride of this shelter," Ye Yun said to everyone at the celebration. "It is your bravery and wisdom that have made our home stronger."

The shelter’s residents gathered together, celebrating the success of the trade. They sang and danced, sharing the joy of victory and looking toward a brighter future.

Ye Yun stood at a high point, looking out over the entire shelter. He knew that as the shelter’s power continued to grow, they would need more resources and more space to support future progress. He started preparing the next expansion plan to accommodate the growing population and resource demands.

Meanwhile, in the shelter’s laboratory, the research team was studying and developing the newly acquired materials. They hoped to discover more knowledge and technology from them, providing powerful support for the shelter’s development.

Bena and his team would continue to guard this light, forever.

In this dangerous Wasteland World, their shelter was like a beacon of light, illuminating the path forward and giving people courage and strength.

And Bena and his team would continue to lead everyone to meet new challenges and create an even more glorious future.
