Global Shelter Game
Chapter 287 - 232: Energy Crisis
Chapter 287: Chapter 232: Energy Crisis
The mission screen appeared before Ye Yun again.
New Mission 20: Energy Crisis
Mission Description: As the shelter develops rapidly, energy consumption is steadily increasing. The traditional power supply can no longer meet demand. New energy sources must be found to solve the imminent energy crisis.
Mission Objective: Within 90 days, explore and develop new energy supply solutions to ensure the shelter’s energy security.
Mission Reward: Successful completion of the mission will award 1x Random Orange Blueprint, 200x Purple Components, and Unknown Tech Data. These rewards will aid the shelter’s technological R&D and the optimization of its energy infrastructure.
New Mission 21: Cultural Exchange
Mission Description: The shelter’s cultural life needs to be richer and more varied. Engaging in cultural exchange with other shelters can foster mutual understanding and enhance the shelter’s cultural soft power.
Mission Objective: Within 60 days, establish cultural exchange relationships with at least two other shelters and organize at least one cultural event.
Mission Reward: Successful completion of the mission will award 4x Random Blue Blueprints, 800x White Components, and Cultural Artifacts. These rewards will enrich the shelter’s cultural life and enhance the community’s cultural influence.
New Mission 22: Security Upgrade
Mission Description: As the shelter expands, security issues are becoming increasingly prominent. The shelter’s security system requires a comprehensive upgrade to counter increasingly complex security threats.
Mission Objective: Within 75 days, complete the upgrade of the shelter’s security system, including but not limited to its surveillance systems, defensive installations, and emergency response mechanisms.
Mission Reward: Completing the security upgrade mission will award 5x Random Green Blueprints, 100x Basic Energy Modules, and 500x White Components. These rewards will help enhance the shelter’s defensive capabilities and energy efficiency.
Ye Yun reviewed the new missions, understanding the importance of each one to the shelter.
He immediately summoned Lin Hao, Zhou Mei, Leo, and Bena to discuss how to delegate the new tasks and ensure each one would be executed effectively for the shelter’s safety and development.
"Lin Hao, the energy crisis in New Mission 20 requires your expertise," Ye Yun said to Lin Hao first. "We need you to lead the exploration and development of new energy sources to secure the shelter’s power supply."
Lin Hao nodded seriously. "I’ll assemble the research team immediately to analyze the energy situation in the wastelands and find viable new energy solutions."
Ye Yun turned to Zhou Mei and Leo. "The cultural exchange in New Mission 21 is crucial for enhancing the shelter’s cultural influence. You two will be in charge of establishing contact with other shelters and organizing cultural exchange events."
Zhou Mei and Leo acknowledged their assignment and promised, "We’ll use every channel available to establish contact with other shelters. We’ll plan and execute cultural exchange activities to boost the shelter’s cultural soft power."
Finally, Ye Yun looked to Bena. "The security upgrade for New Mission 22 will require your organizational skills. Ensuring our security systems are in optimal condition at all times is the foundation of our survival and development."
Bena replied with determination, "I will organize the engineering team and conduct a comprehensive upgrade of the shelter’s security systems. I guarantee that every aspect will be reinforced, leaving no doubt as to the shelter’s safety."
With their assignments from Ye Yun, the three teams began their respective tasks. Each team understood its responsibilities, ready to contribute their efforts to the shelter’s future.
Lin Hao stood before a control console in the lab, his eyes fixed on the energy analysis data displayed on the screen. His team members were busy with their own tasks; some were analyzing energy distribution in the wastelands, while others designed new energy development plans.
"Dr. Lin, our preliminary analysis shows that solar energy resources in the wastelands are abundant," a researcher reported to Lin Hao. "If we can improve solar power generation efficiency, it would be an excellent supplemental energy source."
Lin Hao nodded. "That’s a promising direction. We need to develop more efficient solar power generation technology, but we also have to consider the issue of energy storage to ensure a stable supply."
He turned to his team and said, "Solar energy is one of the most accessible energy sources we have right now. But to fully utilize it, we need to solve several key problems. First is increasing the conversion efficiency of our solar panels. Our current technology is nowhere near sufficient. We need a new type of material or design capable of capturing more sunlight and converting it into electricity."
A materials scientist, Dr. Zhang, responded, "Dr. Lin, we’re currently researching a new type of photovoltaic material. This material can absorb a broader range of the solar spectrum, including invisible light."
"Excellent, Dr. Zhang," Lin Hao said encouragingly. "Continue your research. We need to push past the limitations of existing materials. At the same time, we also need to consider how to store this energy. We need a stable power supply during sunless nights and on cloudy days."
A young engineer, Engineer Li, chimed in, "Dr. Lin, we’re developing a new type of battery storage system. It uses high-energy-density batteries that can store large amounts of electricity during peak solar generation and then release it steadily when needed."
Lin Hao nodded in approval. "Engineer Li, your work is crucial. We need to ensure this storage system is both safe and reliable, and that it can operate stably under all conditions."
Another researcher on the team, Xiaowang, raised a question. "Dr. Lin, should we also consider integrating smart technology into the solar power system? That would allow us to manage our energy more effectively and reduce waste."
