"These documents could be a huge help to our research," Bena said excitedly.

As they prepared to leave, Bena suddenly spotted a strange device. It seemed related to some kind of technology mentioned in the ancient books they had found before.

"Everyone, come take a look at this! I think this could be a major discovery," Bena called out to his team.

The team members gathered around, carefully observing the device. After some discussion, they decided to try and activate it to see what would happen.

When they activated the device, a flash of light burst forth, and a holographic image appeared before them. The image was of an ancient scientist, speaking in a language they couldn’t understand.

"What do we do? We can’t understand a word he’s saying," a team member said anxiously.

"Don’t panic. Let’s record the image first and take it back for the research team to figure out," Bena said.

They quickly recorded the image, then left the underground space with the information, samples, and device they had collected.

After returning to the sanctuary, Bena immediately reported the mission’s status to Ye Yun.

"Ye Yun, we found a lot of important things in an underground space within the ruins. This could be a huge boost for our research," Bena said excitedly.

"Excellent. Good work, all of you. Take everything to the research team right away and have them begin their analysis as soon as possible," Ye Yun said.

The research team quickly threw themselves into studying these new discoveries. After a period of hard work, they finally extracted some useful information from the image. Combining it with their other findings, they gained a deeper understanding of the ancient technology.

As their mastery of this technology grew, the people of the sanctuary began to use it to improve their lives and strengthen their defenses. "Ye Yun, we’re ready. No matter what difficulties we face, we won’t back down," Bena declared on behalf of the team.

"Good. I have faith in you. Remember, you’re not just fighting for yourselves, but for every single person in the sanctuary," Ye Yun encouraged.

Carrying the hopes of their people, the patrol team embarked on their challenging journey. They followed a rugged mountain path. The scenery along the way was desolate, but the team’s hearts were filled with passion and determination.

After several days of arduous trekking, they finally reached their destination. It was a vast, barren plain. In the distance stood the dilapidated ruins of several buildings, as if silently recounting their former glory.

"Stay alert, everyone. There could be all sorts of unknown dangers lurking here," Bena reminded his team.

The team cautiously entered the ruined area and began their search. They discovered that the architectural style was different from anything they had seen before—grander and more complex. The walls were covered in mysterious symbols and patterns.

"These symbols seem to be conveying some kind of information, but it’s a shame we can’t read them," a team member said.

"Record them for now. We’ll have the research team study them when we get back," Bena said.

They ventured deeper into the ruins and, in a massive plaza, found another strange device. It resembled a huge energy core, encircled by glowing lines that flickered with a mysterious light.

"Could this be some kind of power source?" Bena guessed.

Just as they were about to approach and study it, a horde of mutated creatures suddenly swarmed out from all sides. These mutants were enormous and grotesque, letting out wave after wave of roars.

"Prepare for battle!" Bena quickly commanded.

The team immediately formed a battle formation and engaged in a fierce struggle with the mutants. The creatures’ attacks were exceptionally ferocious, but the patrol team members were fearless. Relying on their superb combat skills and seamless coordination, they gradually gained the upper hand.

In the midst of the battle, Bena noticed that the mutants seemed to be controlled by some kind of force; their movements followed a certain pattern. He immediately shared this discovery with the team, and they used this pattern to attack more effectively.

After a grueling fight, the patrol team finally managed to repel the mutated creatures. The team members all breathed a sigh of relief, but they knew that danger could return at any moment.

"Let’s study this device quickly, then get out of here as soon as possible," Bena said.

The team began to study the energy core device. They discovered it seemed to have some connection to the surrounding buildings and might be the power supply center for the entire ruin complex.

"If we can figure out how this thing works, it might be a huge help with the sanctuary’s energy problems," a team member said excitedly.

However, just as they were studying it more closely, the device suddenly emitted a powerful energy wave. A tremendous force sent the team members flying, and Bena was thrown to the ground as well.

"Is everyone okay?" Bena asked loudly, struggling to his feet.

The team members called back one by one, confirming they were mostly unharmed. But then, they noticed the surrounding environment had changed. Hidden passages and rooms were gradually appearing.

"What’s happening?" the team members asked, staring in amazement at the changes around them.

"Maybe that energy wave triggered some kind of mechanism. Let’s explore carefully and see if we can find anything new," Bena said.

They followed one of the new passages into a mysterious room. The room contained various ancient instruments and devices, as well as some book-like objects. But the material of these "books" was very peculiar—not paper, but thin sheets of some unknown metal.

"These must be important. We’re taking them back with us," Bena said.

The team carefully collected the items while continuing to survey the rest of the room. On one of the walls, they found a huge map marked with strange symbols and locations.

"Could this be a map of the region? It might be a great help for our future explorations," Bena said thoughtfully.

They recorded the map as well, then prepared to leave with the items they had collected. When they returned to the plaza, they found the energy core device had stopped running, and the surrounding light had dimmed.

"Looks like we’ve made quite a haul this time," Bena said with satisfaction, looking at the items his team members were holding.

With their bountiful harvest, the patrol team began the journey back to the sanctuary. They remained vigilant against potential dangers along the way and finally returned safely.

When Ye Yun heard they had returned, he immediately came to greet them.

"Bena, you’ve all been through a lot. From the looks of it, you must have made some significant finds," Ye Yun said with a smile.

"Ye Yun, look at these," Bena said, showing him the items they had brought back.

"Excellent! These things are incredibly important for our research. The research team will be thrilled," Ye Yun said excitedly.
