Chapter 428: Chapter 13: The Journey Continues (Part 2)
"Wow, this scenery is absolutely beautiful," Huang Pengfei said excitedly, looking out the window.
Li Xiao was also moved by the beautiful view. He said softly, "Every part of Cangshan has its own unique charm."
After reaching the summit, they strolled along a mountain path. The wildflowers by the roadside swayed in the breeze, as if welcoming their arrival.
"Look at these flowers, they’re so pretty," Huang Pengfei said, pointing to the wildflowers.
Li Xiao said, "Dali has an excellent natural environment. These wildflowers add a lot of color to Cangshan."
On the mountain, they also found some ancient Buddhist and Taoist temples. Although these buildings had weathered the passage of time, they still retained their simple and solemn air.
"These temples have such a sense of history," Huang Pengfei said as he walked into one, feeling its tranquility.
Li Xiao explained, "Dali has a long history and a rich culture. These temples are an important part of it."
After touring Cangshan, they arrived at the shore of Erhai Lake. This time, they chose to rent a small boat and cruise on the lake.
"The water in Erhai Lake is so clear," Huang Pengfei said, dipping his hand into the water and feeling its cool touch.
Li Xiao said, "Erhai Lake is the pearl of Dali. Its beauty is intoxicating."
From the boat, they admired the lake and the mountains, and even saw some water birds playing on the surface.
"Old Li, this place is so beautiful, I don’t want to leave," Huang Pengfei said with emotion.
Li Xiao smiled and said, "That’s right, Dali has that kind of charm. But there are still many places we haven’t been."
After spending some time on Erhai Lake, they came to a small village by the shore. The people in the village lived a leisurely life that was truly enviable.
"Life here is so relaxing," Huang Pengfei said, watching the villagers.
Li Xiao nodded. "Rural life in Dali is full of peace and beauty. It lets you feel the true essence of life."
In the village, they sampled local delicacies like Posu Baba flaky pastries and Ersi rice noodles.
"These Posu Baba pastries are still as delicious as ever," Huang Pengfei said, praising them as he ate.
Li Xiao also nodded in agreement. "The Ersi rice noodles are also very chewy. They’re delicious with all the different seasonings."
After their meal, they went to watch a folk performance of the Bai Clan. The performance venue was filled with spectators. On stage, performers dressed in the traditional attire of the Bai Clan performed songs, dances, acrobatics, and other acts.
"These performances are incredible. They’ve helped us better understand the culture of the Bai Clan," Huang Pengfei said, clapping.
Li Xiao was also deeply captivated by the performance. He said emotionally, "Folk performances are an important way to understand a place’s culture. By watching them, we can feel the passion and wisdom of the Bai people."
After the performance, they went to the streets of Dali to buy local specialties. There was tie-dye, silver jewelry, Pu’er Tea, and more.
"Old Li, look at this tie-dye cloth. It’s so beautiful. We could buy some to take back as gifts for friends," Huang Pengfei said, picking up a piece of cloth.
Li Xiao looked at it and said, "Good idea. Tie-dye is a traditional craft of the Bai Clan. It’s very distinctive."
They selected some local products and put them in their backpacks.
"All right, our second tour of Dali is over," Li Xiao said.
Huang Pengfei was a little reluctant. "It’s over already? I haven’t had enough fun yet."
Li Xiao smiled. "It’s okay, there are still many places we haven’t been. Where should we go next?"
Huang Pengfei thought for a moment and said, "Why don’t we go to Sanya? Last time we were there, we didn’t get to go to Yalong Bay Tropical Paradise Forest Park."
"Sounds good. Let’s head to Sanya," Li Xiao said.
Full of excitement, Li Xiao and Huang Pengfei made their way to sunny Sanya. The seaside city was always brimming with energy and charm.
"Old Li, we’re back in Sanya! It feels as scorching hot as ever," Huang Pengfei said with a laugh, wiping away his sweat.
Li Xiao smiled and nodded. "Yeah, Sanya’s warmth is hard to resist. Come on, let’s hurry to Yalong Bay Tropical Paradise Forest Park."
When they arrived at the park entrance, they were immediately drawn in by the lush greenery. Walking into the park felt like entering a kingdom of tropical plants.
"Wow, the plants here are so dense," Huang Pengfei marveled, looking at the tall trees and various exotic flowers and grasses around them.
Li Xiao said, "Yalong Bay Tropical Paradise Forest Park is rich in natural resources. There’s a wide variety of plants here, many of which are rare species."
They strolled along the mountain path, soaking in the atmosphere of nature. Along the way, they saw many cute little animals, such as squirrels and small birds.
"Look at that squirrel, it’s so cute," Huang Pengfei said, pointing to a squirrel leaping through the trees.
Li Xiao smiled. "The ecosystem here is very healthy, so these little animals live quite freely."
They came to the park’s observation deck, which offered a panoramic view of the entire Yalong Bay. The blue sea, white sandy beaches, and green forests formed a beautiful picture.
"This view is just too beautiful," Huang Pengfei was so stunned by the scene before him that he was at a loss for words.
Li Xiao was also moved by the spectacular scenery. He said softly, "The miraculous work of nature is truly breathtaking."
After spending some time in the park, they went to a seaside restaurant. The fresh and delicious seafood allowed them to have a real feast.
"This seafood is absolutely delicious," Huang Pengfei said, eating a crab, unable to stop praising it.
Li Xiao also nodded in agreement. "Sanya’s seafood is famously delicious. Every time I come, I have to—"
Li Xiao also tried a bite of the braised lamb and couldn’t stop praising it. "This lamb is cooked so flavorfully, with no gamey taste at all."
After lunch, they went to see another folk performance. The venue was an ancient stage, where performers in traditional costumes performed folk songs, dances, and operas from the Jiangnan Water Village. Li Xiao and Huang Pengfei watched with great interest, occasionally applauding and cheering for the actors’ brilliant performances.
"That performance was truly fantastic. It gave us a real feel for the cultural charm of the Jiangnan Water Village," Li Xiao said.
"Yeah, these traditional cultures are really worth preserving and promoting," Huang Pengfei said.
After the performance, they browsed the local specialty shops. The stores were filled with all kinds of Wuzhen specialties, like Wuzhen "Aunt and Sister-in-law" cakes, Sanbai wine, and blue calico cloth. Li Xiao and Huang Pengfei picked out some specialties to bring back as gifts for family and friends.
"These local products are all very unique. I’m sure they’ll love them," Li Xiao said.
"Mhm, this trip has been really meaningful. We didn’t just see beautiful scenery, but also tasted delicious food, watched folk performances, and bought local specialties," Huang Pengfei said.
After a day of exploring Wuzhen, Li Xiao and Huang Pengfei were a bit tired, but their hearts were filled with joy and satisfaction.
Leaving the picturesque Wuzhen behind, Li Xiao and Huang Pengfei set off on their journey to Yunnan Lijiang. Along the way, both were full of anticipation for their destination.
"Li Xiao, I heard Lijiang is gorgeous. It has an Ancient City and a snow mountain," Huang Pengfei said excitedly.
Li Xiao responded with a smile, "That’s right. Lijiang is a captivating place. The scenery there will make us never want to leave."
After a long journey, they finally arrived in Lijiang. The moment they stepped out of the station, they were greeted by fresh air and warm sunlight. In the distance, Yulong Snow Mountain stood majestically, its peak capped with white snow, like a magnificent scroll painting.
"Wow, is that Yulong Snow Mountain? It’s so spectacular!" Huang Pengfei exclaimed, pointing at the snowy peak.
Li Xiao nodded. "Come on, let’s go check out Lijiang Ancient City first."
They arrived at Lijiang Ancient City, where the old city walls, stone-paved roads, and wooden buildings made them feel as if they had traveled back in time. The Ancient City was bustling with activity. The streets were lined with all sorts of specialty shops selling handicrafts, local snacks, and ethnic clothing.
"Hey, Li Xiao, look at this handicraft. It’s so exquisite!" Huang Pengfei said, picking up a wood carving.
