Along the way, they saw many quaint, antique-style buildings, making them feel as if they had traveled back in time.

Upon arriving in the ancient town, the first thing that caught their eye was an old stone bridge. The bridge spanned a clear, small river, its water flowing slowly and creating gentle ripples. Li Xiao and Huang Pengfei stood on the bridge, gazing at the distant scenery, and couldn’t help but exclaim, "It’s so beautiful! This is just like a traditional ink wash painting."

They strolled along the stone-paved path by the river, admiring the ancient buildings on both banks. These structures were remarkably well-preserved, with their white walls, black tiles, and artfully staggered layouts. Red lanterns hung at the entrances of some buildings, adding a festive touch. As they walked, they came to a small square where many people were taking photos. Huang Pengfei also took out his phone and started snapping away at the beautiful scenery. He said to Li Xiao, "This place is perfect for pictures. Every shot is beautiful, no matter how you take it." Li Xiao nodded. "You’re right, the scenery here is truly stunning. Let’s go explore those old buildings first. Who knows, we might find something interesting."

The two entered an old building that housed a small museum showcasing the history and culture of the ancient town. They discussed their impressions as they walked through the exhibits. After touring the museum, they continued their stroll through the ancient town. Before long, they arrived at the edge of a lake. Li Xiao and Huang Pengfei sat on a bench by the lake, taking in the beautiful scenery. Huang Pengfei sighed with feeling, "It’s so peaceful here. It really calms you down." Li Xiao said, "It does. After enjoying the lakeside scenery, they went to visit some of the ancient town’s other famous sights, like the old opera stage and the temple. On the ancient stage, they could almost picture performers of old putting on operas; in the temple, they felt the solemnity and sanctity of Buddhism.

Before they knew it, it was noon, and their stomachs had started to rumble. They decided to try some of the local cuisine. Following their guide, they found a local restaurant. The restaurant had a very elegant atmosphere, and the staff was warm and welcoming. They ordered a few local specialties, such as Dongpo Pork, West Lake Vinegar Fish, and Beggar’s Chicken. The dishes arrived shortly. Looking at the feast for the senses, the two eagerly picked up their chopsticks and began to eat.

"Wow, this Dongpo Pork is incredible! It’s rich but not greasy, and it just melts in your mouth," Huang Pengfei exclaimed as he ate. Li Xiao nodded in agreement. "The West Lake Vinegar Fish is great too. The fish is tender, and the flavor is sweet and sour." They chatted about the food as they savored each bite. By the end of the meal, both were thoroughly satisfied.

After lunch, they went to watch a local folk performance. The show was held in a square in the ancient town and had attracted a large crowd of tourists. The performance was quite varied, featuring dragon and lion dances, acrobatics, and traditional opera. The performers were brilliant, earning round after round of applause from the audience. Li Xiao and Huang Pengfei were also captivated by the amazing show, constantly taking pictures to remember it.

After the folk performance, they went to buy some local specialties. The ancient town was full of small shops selling all sorts of specialty goods, such as silk, tea, and pastries. They entered a silk shop where the dazzling array of silks was almost overwhelming. Huang Pengfei picked up a bolt of silk and examined it closely, saying, "This silk is really beautiful, and the quality is excellent." Li Xiao nodded in agreement. "It is. Silk is one of Jiangnan’s specialties, and the quality here is exceptionally high." They selected a few silk items as souvenirs from their trip.

After buying their souvenirs, they wandered around the ancient town for a while longer. As the sun began to set, the town was bathed in a golden afterglow, making it look exceptionally beautiful. Li Xiao and Huang Pengfei stood on a bridge, gazing at the distant view, their hearts filled with emotion. Huang Pengfei said, "Today was so much fun. The scenery is beautiful, the food is delicious, and the folk performance was incredible." Li Xiao replied, "It was. We gained a lot from this trip. We’re off to a new place tomorrow. I can’t wait!"
