Global Survival: I Have Endless Skeletons

Chapter 404: Unforgettable Twins

Chapter 404: Unforgettable Twins

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

The arrows streaked through the battlefield like lightning.

The Slave Trade Guild Spell Caster barely managed to raise a barrier before the arrows struck.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The translucent barrier cracked heavily.

The Spell Caster staggered backward with blood trickling from the corner of his mouth.

At the same time, the twins raised their staff once more.

Neither of them remained idle.

"Flame Lance!"

"Gale Burst!"

The blazing spear and compressed wind collided together before rushing toward the enemy group. The combined spell twisted into a violent spiral of fire and wind.

Seeing another terrifying attack approaching, the Slave Trade Guild members quickly scattered.

Boom!

The explosion engulfed the middle of the street.

Broken stones flew everywhere.

Dust rose into the sky.

Several Slave Trade Guild fighters were sent tumbling across the ground. Although none of them suffered fatal injuries, many had fresh burns and deep cuts covering their bodies.

Ahhh! Ahhh! Ahhh!

Screams and cries of pain permeated the air.

Shifting their focus, the twins confronted the Level 36 Lancer without hesitation.

Attack after attack rained down on the Lancer.

Every spell was precisely timed.

Every attack forced the Lancer into defensive position.

Even though the Lancer was more powerful than them, with their powerful long-range attacks, he was being suppressed continuously.

His robe was burnt, and a deep cut appeared on his face. Several strands of his hair had also been scorched away.

His face contorted into deep rage. If not for his high agility, he would have already been taken down.

This alone made him feel deeply embarrassed.

A mere pair of Level 35 Mages had actually forced him into such a miserable state..

The humiliation made his expression increasingly uglier.

’You just wait.’

He moved swiftly, dodging round after round of deadly strikes as he rushed toward the twins. The distance between them rapidly shortened.

He knew allowing the Mages to continue attacking from afar would only make his situation worse.

Thus, he had to force them into close combat.

Just as the twins prepared to launch another round of area effect attacks, a figure appeared behind the male twin.

An assassin.

The gleaming dagger in his hand thrust directly toward the male twin’s neck.

Before the assassin could react, dozens of wind blades were already before him.

’H-How?’

His pupils contracted violently.

The female twin had never stopped paying attention to the battlefield. She had been waiting for this exact moment.

Swish! Swish! Swish!

The wind blades completely sealed every direction of escape. The assassin hastily twisted his body, still, several blades grazed across his shoulder and chest.

Fresh blood splattered onto the ground.

His robe was instantly shredded into pieces.

Before he could stabilize himself, the male twin turned around calmly.

"Fire Burst."

Boom!

The assassin was blasted into pieces, his burnt and shredded body scattering everywhere. The smell of burnt flesh permeated the air.

Fragments of charred flesh rained onto the broken street.

Black smoke slowly rose into the sky.

For a brief moment, everyone on the battlefield froze.

The Lancer was stunned.

His eyes widened in disbelief.

He could not understand how the twins were able to detect their best assassin. Even against higher level awakeners, he had never been caught.

His assassination techniques were renowned within the Slave Trade Guild. Countless powerful opponents had died without ever realizing he was there.

But now...

Everything had ended within a single exchange.

Unknown to him, assassins might be quiet and able to blend with the shadows, making their presence almost impossible to detect.

But there was one fatal flaw.

Most of their movements affected the surroundings.

Especially, they changed the direction of the air.

No matter how subtle the movement was, the surrounding wind would always fluctuate ever so slightly.

Against an ordinary Mage, such a tiny disturbance meant nothing.

Against a powerful Wind Mage, however, the slightest change in wind direction was enough of a warning.

The wind itself became her eyes.

Therefore, the only thing waiting for the assassin was nothing but death.

His sneak attack had already failed from the beginning.

Looking at the Lancer, the twins sneered and raised their staffs.

Their expressions remained calm. It was as if killing the assassin had been nothing more than an ordinary task.

"Wind Storm!"

"Flame Tide!"

Instantly, a powerful Wind Storm appeared at the center of the battleground, and surrounding it was a dreadful Flame Tide.

The violent winds spiraled continuously.

Towering flames surged forward like an unstoppable tidal wave. The two elements blended perfectly with each other.

Instead of weakening one another, they amplified each other’s destructive power.

The flames burned even hotter under the compressed winds.

The raging winds became even sharper after being infused with blazing fire. The battlefield was instantly swallowed by a sea of crimson flames and violent gales.

"Fuck!" the Lancer cursed when he saw the terrifying incoming attack.

Without hesitation, he rushed for cover.

Not only him, but the Slave Trade Guild Spell Caster also had the blood drained from his face. For a brief moment, he forgot to cast his spell.

’I need to get out of here.’ He cried inwardly.

"Protect us!" a Warrior screamed toward the Spell Caster.

However, the Spell Caster ignored him. He cast a translucent shield around himself and retreated with all his might.

Against two crazy Mages, he was not ready to throw away his life.

His survival instinct completely overwhelmed his sense of responsibility.

Whoosh!

Boom! Boom!

Those unfortunate enough to be caught by the two attacks were shredded into pieces.

Some were swallowed by the blazing flames.

Others were torn apart by countless razor sharp wind blades. Everything along the path of the attacks was blasted into rubble.

Walls collapsed.

Wooden stalls exploded into splinters.

The previous street turned into ruins.

Those that were hiding inside the houses could not believe their rotten luck.

Many of them sustained various degrees of injuries.

"This is crazy!" a voice screamed.

However, the twins did not spare them a single glance as they locked their eyes on the Lancer, who was covered in blood and bruises.

He barely managed to evade the attack.

Even then, his situation was not looking any good.

His robe had been almost completely burned away.

Several deep wounds covered his body.

Fresh blood continuously dripped onto the broken ground.

Using his spear to support himself while rising to his feet, the Lancer’s face was drained of color, fear etched across it.

"This bastard..." he whispered.
