Chapter 405: Riven and Kiera Working Together.
Chapter 405: Riven and Kiera Working Together.
While the Slave Trade Guild and their allies were targeting the Crimson Arc Guild, likewise, they were being targeted by the Crimson Arc Guild.
While deadly destruction was going on in the northern street, on the eastern street, two groups confronted each other in a narrow alley.
The atmosphere was equally tense.
"Where are you going?" Riven asked in a low, dangerous voice.
His broad sword rested casually on his shoulder while his massive shield remained firmly in his left hand.
His calm expression carried overwhelming confidence.
Hmm?
Halting in their tracks, Nahlia widened her eyes in disbelief.
’How are they here?’
’What is Oswald doing?’
She screamed inwardly.
This was not their plan.
Oswald was the vanguard while she was the follow up.
They expected the Crimson Arc Guild to have a few supporters in the town, and her group was to crush those while also making sure the Crimson Arc Guild did not escape.
Everything had been carefully planned beforehand.
But now...
Looking at Riven, she knew something must have happened or Oswald might have betrayed them.
Her thoughts rapidly raced.
Countless possibilities flashed through her mind.
She shook her head, rejecting the notion of Oswald betraying them.
’Whatever it is... I must inform the captain immediately,’ she thought grimly.
Unfortunately...
She first had to survive this battle first.
Riven sneered, and his men moved, covering all the escape paths Nahlia and her party might use. Each member quickly occupied strategic positions.
The formation completely sealed the narrow alley.
Nahlia was a Level 36 Warrior, and beside her was another Level 35 Hunter. Both of them were considered experts among ordinary awakeners.
Riven merely glanced at the Level 35 Hunter but did not speak.
Of course, he knew this Hunter.
He was from the Silver Crest Guild.
Even with their warning, the Silver Crest Guild still chose to side with the Slave Trade Guild. Thus, finding one of their members inside the Slave Trade Guild’s party was not surprising.
Instead...
It merely strengthened Riven’s resolve.
"Attack!" Riven shouted and dashed forward.
Although he was a Tank, he never fought like one. He was more of a vanguard and his fighting style had always been aggressive.
Rather than waiting for enemies to attack, he preferred overwhelming them from the very beginning.
"Attack!" Nahlia also shouted.
Bang! Bang!
Riven deflected the first wave of attacks with his massive shield and responded with his massive broadsword.
Clang!
Nahlia’s hands trembled, and she staggered backward when their two swords collided.
Her expression turned ugly.
Shock was written all over her face. She had expected Riven to become stronger after advancing.
She had never imagined the difference would become this enormous.
Worst of all...
Spiderweb cracks appeared across her sword.
How could this be?
This was a Peak Iron Grade weapon.
Yet it had nearly shattered after a single exchange.
Her heart immediately sank.
Ahhhhh!
Before she could recover from her shock, a miserable scream echoed from her side.
Creasing her brows, she turned sharply to see what was happening.
The Hunter was covered in blood. Fresh wounds covered both of his arms.
His leather armor had already been torn in several places.
’What?’
Kiera grinned savagely, licking her lips as she rushed forward to finish the Hunter. Her enormous axe rested comfortably in her palm.
Every step she took radiated overwhelming pressure.
"Noooo!"
Against a Level 35 Berserker, the Silver Crest Guild Hunter was scared to his core.
When did Berserkers become this terrifying?
He had fought Berserkers before.
None of them had ever pressured him this much.
This...
He wanted nothing more than to get away from the savage woman.
Unfortunately... There was no escaping.
Every member of the Slave Trade Guild was fighting desperately to keep their lives. No one could spare even a second to rescue him.
"Help!" he screamed, but no one seemed to hear him.
Bang!
Kiera’s axe blurred together with the surrounding air before appearing before his chest in the blink of an eye.
The heavy axe crashed directly into him.
The terrifying force instantly shattered his defensive stance and the sound of bones crushing into pieces echoed in everyone’s ears.
Crack!
Ahhhh!
The Hunter was sent flying, crashing into the alley wall. The wall behind him cracked from the tremendous impact.
A deep gash appeared across his chest.
His internal organs spilled onto the ground. Blood rapidly spread beneath his body.
He only breathed once... Then he stopped breathing.
Dead.
"So weak!" Kiera muttered, her voice laced with disappointment.
She slowly lowered her axe before turning her eyes sharply, searching for her next opponent. Her craving for a satisfying battle had yet to be quenched.
The excitement flowing through her veins had only just begun. Her eyes locked onto Nahlia, and her grin deepened.
"It is you..."
She rushed forward, raising her axe above her head.
At Riven’s side, after the first exchange, Nahlia did not dare meet Riven’s attacks head on any longer.
She had already experienced the terrifying strength hidden within his body. One direct clash had nearly destroyed her weapon.
Another would most likely cost her life.
Using the high agility of a Warrior, she evaded his attacks while looking for a chance to counterattack.
She darted around the battlefield with astonishing speed. Her feet barely touched the ground as she continuously searched for an opening.
Unfortunately...
Riven did not gave her the slightest opportunity.
Just as she rolled to the side, using the alley wall as a shield, her instincts screamed of danger.
Bang!
Without hesitation, she leaped to the side, avoiding the danger by a hair’s breadth. The ground trembled, and spiderweb cracks appeared across the muddy ground.
What!
Before she could recover her breath, she saw Riven’s massive shield slamming into her face. The enormous shield completely filled her vision.
There was no room left to dodge.
Argh!
She staggered backward, her nose breaking as blood spilled like a broken pipe. Several teeth flew from her mouth and her vision blurred instantly.
Dizzy and confused.
Stars spun before her eyes.
However, her sense of danger did not reduce but instead increased. Her battle experience forced her body to react before her mind could think.
Hastily, she raised her weapon in defense.
Bang!
Kiera’s massive axe slammed into her sword, shattering it into pieces.
The broken fragments flew through the air.
Nahlia stumbled backward.
The tremendous impact tore open her palm, exposing portions of her white bones. Fresh blood dripped continuously onto the broken street.
Her fingers trembled uncontrollably.
Swish!
Riven’s broadsword appeared before her eyes, slashing across her chest.
Everything happened too quickly. The perfect coordination between the two left her with no room to escape.
Ahhhhh!
Against the attack, her armor was nothing but a thin sheet of paper.
A ghastly deep gash appeared across her chest. Her ribs shattered into fragments and blood gushed out from her mouth and every major orifice.
Her body staggered weakly.
The strength within her rapidly disappeared.
Slowly, she raised her head as she breathed her last.
Her eyes remained fixed upon Riven.
Never in her wildest dreams did she ever think she would fall into the hands of the Crimson Arc Guild.
The weakest guild.
