Goblin Dependency
Chapter 1273: "Bottleneck?
Chapter 1273: Chapter 625: “Bottleneck?
“Hiss… Gah…”
A scrawny and battered goblin struggled to fall to the ground, wailing weakly.
As one of the second batch of goblin grunts rushing towards the human intruder, it had been lying here for several minutes.
The good news was that, thanks to its slightly slower reaction than other goblins, it lagged slightly in its attack, and did not get shredded into unrecognizable pieces of flesh like its colleagues by the sharp storm, only grazed slightly by a few stray gusts.
But the bad news was, even though the storm had residual waves of power gradually diminishing after the phantom Black Wolf had moved away, it dealt a fatal blow to its fragile, thin body.
Both its lower legs were completely broken, one twisted with bones protruding, the other completely severed from the knee down; its chest and abdomen were slashed open, exposing bloody intestines inside.
Its entire body was covered with countless small wounds, some deep, some shallow, bleeding profusely.
Clearly, this goblin, lucky yet unfortunate, had entered the countdown of its life.
Eyes moved away from the green-skinned goblin on the ground in front, doomed to death.
Frogon’s expression remained as usual, like unyielding ice from highlands, with no fluctuations.
Yet, in the shadow cast by high arched brows, frost-blue eyes flickered with an indescribable complex light.
He scanned the battlefield ahead.
The goblin camp, originally surrounded by a crude fence and built from shabby tents and crooked wooden huts, had now turned into a ruinous mess.
As if ravaged by some sort of large storm.
Fence posts rooted from the ground were uprooted, patched-up tents shredded into tatters, wooden huts dismantled in an instant, with planks in varied lengths flying high into the sky…
And those green-skinned goblins who originally lived and trained in the camp, Frogon couldn’t even find a single one with a whole body and ability to move.
The ones in the best condition were only like the severely injured goblin ahead, painfully struggling with weakening cries.
Most of the rest had already turned into nourishing blood and flesh for the land, seemingly stirred up by some blade.
Even though before the battle began, he had already anticipated the potential fate of these hundred goblins.
But when Frogon stood on the hill, witnessing the dark wolf shadow wrapped in a storm raising a blood rain in the camp, he couldn’t help but feel slightly dazed.
Originally anticipated, the two Bear Goblins that should have provided significant obstruction to Xia Nan’s battle, necessitating focused effort to deal with, did not even survive two rounds after engaging Xia Nan.
One was instantly beheaded by the combination of “Teeth Hunting” and “Vortex Slash” skill when the battle just began, without even having the chance to attack;
The other one, arriving late, was seemingly controlled forcefully in place by some casting skill of Xia Nan, which he was unaware of, losing half its skull.
As for the last one, Frogon initially believed it would pose a considerable threat to Xia Nan, maybe even requiring him to intervene, the highly challenging Level 5 Earth Goblin lieutenant…
His mind involuntarily recalled the glimpse of the black-haired adventurer’s attack rhythm switching bizarrely between slow and fast, alongside the suspected arc sword light of Force Field Energy damage.
Frogon’s gaze couldn’t help but turn to the center of the field.
The tall and sharp figure stood there.
The wolf howls gradually faded, the phantom beast shadow cloaking the body turned into fragmented black winds surrounding him.
The gray-black straight sword, of absolute high quality, hung slantingly, stained with blood, and the deep silver metal armor on the surface emitted a crimson glow.
Below him were goblin corpses, completely devoid of life, fragmented and unbearable.
“Woo…Hoo…”
Beside him, Winter Wolf Fenney’s excited low growl brought Frogon’s attention back to reality.
Led along with the other.
Looming ahead was Xia Nan, whose face appeared calm, yet whose eyes flickered with a strange repression and delight.
A glance at the corpses at Xia Nan’s feet.
Frogon paused, as if pondering what to say.
He finally spoke slowly:
“The ‘Teeth Hunting’ you used just now… is it the one I taught?”
…
…
If considering from the standpoint of real combat power and overall capability, the gap between Xia Nan and the elite Earth Goblin beheaded by him wasn’t actually as vast as reflected in the battle.
After all, being a highly challenging Level 5, professionally trained demon, Xia Nan’s professional level, after all, is only Level 4.
The overwhelmingly crushing situation presented in the battle was mainly due to Xia Nan’s inherently aggressive combat style and his unique combat skill system that distinguishes him from most adventurers.
Gak Blood Spear can be said to be caught completely off guard.
Not even having the time for direct contact, it was already under the influence of “Night Mother’s Gaze”.
Though not directly plunged into Fear, abandoning weapons to flee, its mindset was nonetheless shaken.
After the battle began, with Xia Nan not holding back, the offensives under “Stacked Waves” became increasingly fierce, leaving Earth Goblins no time to think about tactics, having to defend passively.
At last, under the combat formation of “Hunting Arc,” it revealed a flaw, caught by Xia Nan for a full-force move of “Vortex Slash” + “Gravity Etching” + “Heavy Tide” to take away.
