Goblin Dependency
Chapter 1272 - 624: Suppressed Brutality, Decisive Overwhelming (Part 2)
The goblin squad leaders chose to directly resolve the source of the excrement.
Upon identifying any goblin that defecated inappropriately, they would be immediately smashed to death on the spot, with their corpse thrown into the cooking pot as dinner.
If the culprits were not found, they would randomly select a few from the nearby goblin squads to smash to death for public display, then throw those into the pot as dinner as well.
Over time, surprisingly, the goblins in the entire camp learned to control their defecation locations.
Of course, Gak Blood Spear reckoned it might also be because those who hadn’t learned became part of the excrement themselves.
There was no worry about the number of goblins in the camp.
If anything, the current count of over a hundred was already the result of intentionally controlling the numbers according to plans to reduce the chance of exposure by selecting the relatively excellent individuals and expelling or killing the inferior ones.
Regarding the reproduction capacity of Green-skinned Goblins, as a former commander of a large army, Earth Goblin Lieutenant Gak Blood Spear was more than clear.
Even the humans’ crops planted in the land can only mature once or twice a year, relying on favorable weather.
Yet Green-skinned Goblins can continuously sprout from the earth; losing a few hundred of them means nothing.
This is precisely why he had the confidence to abandon his original troops and venture alone across the border to establish a new force here.
Gak Blood Spear’s task was actually very simple.
In this area within the Sevia Kingdom’s border, he was to reorganize a goblin army that possessed a certain combat strength, capable of posing a threat to the kingdom’s soldiers.
Whether they would strike the Blood Castle from behind with the main forces once the army was formed, cut off the border soldiers’ supply lines, or continue deep into the inland to harass towns within the kingdom...was not for his rank to decide.
Even though Gak Blood Spear roughly guessed there were these few plans, he didn’t act rashly but instead followed the Great Goblin race’s war instincts, waiting very disciplined for orders from above.
"Boss Blood Spear, there’s a small human village southeast of the valley, should we..."
In the heart of the camp, in the cleanest and tidiest tent, a Bear Goblin with intelligent eyes and a physique as robust as a standing Bear Beast lay on the ground, suggesting to Gak Blood Spear who sat on the high chair covered with animal skin.
Humans...
Since sneaking past the border to arrive here, it had indeed been quite some time since Gak Blood Spear tasted the wonder of human blood.
With the other’s suggestion, he felt temped.
Sensing their leader’s hesitation, the Bear Goblin, covered in thick fur, couldn’t suppress its excitement at the humans’ presence and let out a low growl, continuing in goblin language:
"Howl... This small village hardly sees any merchant caravans, deep in the mountains where not even travelers pass. Even if we capture all the humans inside, it won’t matter."
Gak Blood Spear didn’t immediately reply.
In his fierce round eyes, bloodline instinctive thirst for bloodshed alternated with the rationality of ensuring mission safety.
The Earth Goblin Lieutenant looked at the subordinate prostrated below, slowly opened his mouth, just about to speak.
Suddenly, the "sgaa" bizarre cries from outside the tent, made by the Green-skinned Goblins, interrupted the two’s conversation.
"Damned, what trouble are these pests causing again!"
Interrupted at the critical moment, the Bear Goblin was far more angry than Gak Blood Spear.
"Boss Blood Spear, I’ll go out to take a look."
Already used to it.
Though they were carefully selected from countless goblins as individuals with relatively higher quality, following his rigorous selection process.
These Green-skinned Goblins invariably struggled to escape their chaotic and disorderly nature.
Though they might seem quite organized when training with goblin squad leaders, often just one stray fawn entering the camp could make dozens of goblins lose their minds in excitement.
Such incidents happened almost every five or six days.
Gak Blood Spear therefore didn’t pay much attention, allowing the Bear Goblin to leave the tent with an irritated roar.
But soon, he noticed something was amiss.
Even though the Bear Goblin, second in command in the entire force, had gone to quell the disturbance, the "sgaa" sounds from outside the tent showed no sign of stopping and only grew louder.
Unease arose within.
Gak Blood Spear instinctively stood up from the high chair, picked up the Fine Iron Spear forged by the Great Goblin Blacksmith of their tribe, from which his surname originated, and walked toward the tent’s entrance.
Ong——
A sudden, deep, long, wolf-like yet eerie wail resonated from outside, driving him to quicken his pace.
The attack hit too suddenly; the source of the Wolf Howl, this unknown assailant, moved incredibly fast.
From Gak Blood Spear realizing something was off, getting up from the chair, to quickening his steps upon hearing the Wolf Howl, and reaching the tent’s entrance.
All in a mere few seconds.
The first wave of assault had concluded.
As Gak Blood Spear cautiously lifted the tent’s curtain with his Fine Iron Spear.
What met his eyes was a terrifying Wolf Beast constructed from black Powerful Qi mixed with blood and shredded flesh, its mane waving.
As if caught in an invisible meat grinder, goblins couldn’t even approach as they were shredded into unrecognizable limbs and flesh by the air-raging, blade-like black fierce winds.
"Crash!"
The steaming, filthy blood poured down like rain.
Despite being relatively intact and standing stiffly outside, the Bear Goblin who had earlier suggested attacking the human village to Gak Blood Spear, had lost the physiological ability to roar.
Gurgle gurgle——
Scarlet blood spurted rhythmically from the neck’s severed end, driven by its still-throbbing heart, resembling a miniature fountain cast from flesh and blood.
The head supposed to catch this "fountain," however, had already vanished from above its neck.
Fallen between the staggered Wolf Teeth.
The Wolf Mouth opened and closed, allowing the Bear Goblin’s head to "roll" to the ground.
As if it sensed the gaze from the side.
The ghastly beast, composed of fierce winds, blood, and flesh scraps, slowly turned its head.
Like something out of the Abyss, devoid of emotional fluctuations despite reflecting a scene filled with death and brutality, the eerily calm, forest-pond-like black Wolf Eyes met the stiff Earth Goblin Lieutenant’s gaze.
Buzz——
A cold Fear erupted from deep within, gripping the heart tightly.
...
Indescribable extraordinary pressure and newfound penetrating fear obscured Gak Blood Spear’s memory.
The tactical thinking and Battle Skills learned from clan elder training were completely forgotten.
Like a soulless pale flesh, it could barely fight using muscle memory, no longer exploiting far superior intelligence and strategic thinking over Green-skinned Goblins.
"Ding! Ding! Ding!"
The spear tightly gripped in both hands defensively parried the descending blades as sparks splintered.
Gak Blood Spear could sense that the young adventurer before him, likely the Wolf Beast entity glimpsed momentarily, with his dark, tousled hair, wielded an increasing force and speed with each sword drop.
Yet faced with such tempestuous, torrential assaults, he had no chance of interruption, rendered a desperate lamb to slaughter, hopelessly defending.
And just peculiarly, when the sword’s force and speed hadn’t yet reached what he could endure as his limit, the fierce attacks suddenly ceased in mid course!
The severe contrast from extremely fast to slow left Gak Blood Spear’s brain dizzy, unable to stop a rising sense of nausea.
"Ding Pang!"
The spear in his hand was easily brushed aside.
A straight sword of grey-black trailing a cinnabar-red glow carved a perfect arc through the air.
In an instant, Force Field Energy erupted with a slash of the sword, elongating horizontally into a dazzling sword light, seamlessly slicing through the Earth Goblin’s neck.
"Zing hum."
The head spun away.
