Chapter 110: Arrival

While Regis and Killian were conversing, Pandora had her hand up her chin while looking through the window of the carriage.

The beautiful landscape outside caught her attention.

The way the birds flew in the sky, the trees swayed by the wind, and just how amazing the world was overall.

She couldn’t imagine how her life would’ve looked if Regis hadn’t found her.

Glancing at the young boy with white hair and blood-red eyes beside her, a certain light flashed in Pandora’s eyes.

"But I’m curious." At this moment, Regis seems to be curious about something.

Killian responded, "About what?"

"We witnessed earlier just how much you loved chasing skirts, so..."

"What the hell!? Why so straightforward!?"

Killian suddenly coughed wildly due to Regis’s words.

"Well, I’m afraid that you’ll dodge it again."

"Okay, stop that now before I give in to the urge of hitting you." Regis used all his strength to avoid drawing his sword.

After a moment, he asked, "Can you tell us about our mission now?"

"Eh? Haven’t I told you that earlier?"

"No, because you’re clearly busy flirting with your Rebecca."

"Urk..." Killian coughed slightly before assuming a serious expression, "Well, the mission we accepted had something to do with the rattled monsters in one of the nearby villages."

"Oh? Monsters, huh?"

Regis’s eyes lit up in interest as he slightly leaned forward.

Killian nodded as he took the flyer of the mission from one of their bags, "Let’s see..."

He then unfolded the flyer and read it out loud, "Hmmm... So it says here that the villagers at the Brunali Village, a village located at the northwest of the Corelli Fortress, had reported sightings of a 3 meter tall monster in the nearby Ikalo Jungle."

"That big? Maybe it’s an orc of some kind?" Regis guessed as he tapped his chin with his index finger.

Killian nodded in agreement, "Mhm. Besides that, Rebecca told me that a villager was able to stumble upon the den of the monster."

"Ho?" Regis raised his brow as he heard the name "Rebecca" again.

"Ehem. Ehem. Can we focus, please?"

Regis smirked and raised his hands, "Alright, alright~"

"Anyways, then it means that we’ll be looking for that villager, right?"

"Yes."

"But can I ask a question?"

"What is it?"

Killian was on high alert, worrying about what kind of abnormal question would Regis ask.

Fortunately, it didn’t seem to be the case as Regis asked, "About the reward... What’s the reward for completing the mission?"

Putting down the flyer, Killian raised all 10 of his fingers.

"Ten silver coins? It’s not high but it’s oka-"

Regis didn’t continue speaking as he saw Killian adamantly shaking his head.

"Then 100 copper coins? Isn’t that to lo-"

Again, Killian shook his head.

"Don’t tell me it’s 10 copper coins? That’s just too lo-"

Just as he was about to shake his head again, Regis had a fed up expression on his face as he said, "Another shake of your head and I’ll really draw my sword."

"Please just answer me like how a normal person would."

"Hmph, you’re no fun!"

Killian answered with a pout, "It’s 10 gold coins."

"What!? Isn’t that too high!?"

"I know right!" Killian smiled smugly, "Isn’t it a steal? In fact, Rebecca told me that she specifically hid it under the other flyers because she was waiting for me, teehee~"

Upon hearing his words, a frown appeared on Regis’s face, "That’s strange... it means that there’s something more to this mission than what meets the eye."

"I’ve thought about that too." Killian nodded in agreement, "But I still went with it because the difficulty said that it’s for novice adventurers."

"I think that it’s safe for us. After all, we’re way stronger than novice adventurers!"

Seeing his confidence, Regis agreed.

’Right, there shouldn’t be any accidents and even if there is, we can just deal with it...’

The two of them then proceeded to talk more about the mission they had accepted. After all, a little more preparation wouldn’t hurt.

Meanwhile, Pandora watched as the landscape gradually changed.

Since the journey was estimated to be 4 hours long, they decided to go all the way and not camp on the road.

This proved to be the right decision as they arrived at Brunali Village about half an hour after the sun had set.

"We’re here!"

Hearing the driver’s shout, the three got out of the carriage.

Killian gave a few more silver coins to the driver and said, "Here. So you can stay the night. Travelling in the dark is dangerous, after all."

"Thank you, Sir!" The driver bowed in gratitude before leaving.

At this moment, Regis walked beside him and asked, "Was that really necessary?"

Regis felt that it was a waste since Killian had already paid the driver handsomely before they took off.

After all, he remembered the time when he paid the driver who brought them to the Orpheus Manor.

However, Killian only laughed, "Don’t worry about it, it’s just extra change."

"Extra change...?"

Regis’s face blanked out as he repeated what Killian said.

’As expected of a rich kid...!’

"Oh! Are you the adventurers that took our request?" An elderly voice was heard.

Regis, Pandora, and Killian all turned their heads and saw an elderly man who had a hunchback and a bald head.

He had a smile on his face as he used his cane to approach them slowly.

"By the way, I’m the mayor of the Brunali Village. You can just call me Old Warod!"

The elderly man introduced himself as he caressed his white beard.

"You young adventurers must be tired from your journey. Come! I’ll lead you to the village’s inn so you can rest for the night."

The three briefly glanced at each other before following behind Old Warod.
