Chapter 1066 - 63
Chapter 1066: Chapter 63
Murong Qing was evidently still immersed in her own world, and Go Biqing’s sudden call woke her up. As they both raised their heads, neither expected their faces to be so close.
At this moment, Go Biqing turned his head towards Murong Qing, and as she lifted hers, they found themselves staring at each other face-to-face, their faces less than ten centimeters apart. Go Biqing could smell the faint fragrance on Murong Qing’s body, and Murong Qing could also detect the strange scent on Go Biqing.
At this point, Go Biqing saw in Murong Qing’s eyes the same expression he had caught a glimpse of when he suddenly looked up while eating earlier. This discovery left Go Biqing unsure of what to say; now he was at least fifty percent certain that Murong Qing was interested in him.
But currently, he could say he had nothing at all, and in his heart, he still held feelings for Zhou Jiaying. Go Biqing felt it necessary to carefully reevaluate his relationship with Murong Qing. Maybe they were truly getting too close, and maintaining a bit of distance might actually be better for both of them.
After returning to the company in the evening, Go Biqing considered that tomorrow would be his first day at work. After taking the employee manual and his task list, Go Biqing carefully reviewed what he was supposed to do, then glanced at the employee manual before going to sleep, since he would have to start work very early in the morning.
Early the next morning, before six o’clock, Go Biqing got up. Fortunately, he had set the alarm on his phone, or else he would surely have been late.
Though there were only a few employees on duty in the building right now, and nobody paid attention to Go Biqing. Even if they knew him, they wouldn’t be in the mood to bother with someone doing odd jobs.
Go Biqing first picked up the newspaper from the entrance and distributed it to the offices as required, of course by slipping it through gaps under the doors.
Then he had to check the coffee in the break room, and next was turning off all the company’s air conditioners, opening windows to ventilate, and only turning the air conditioners back on when the employees officially started work.
In any case, the tasks Go Biqing did were truly menial jobs, nothing heavy or hard, yet very tedious. It was not until almost eight-thirty that Go Biqing finally finished his duties and opened the company’s main switch for the air conditioners; only then could he have breakfast and take a break.
By now he had already opened the company’s main doors and walked to a breakfast stall to have what he considered the most delicious breakfast, as it was perfectly timely—he was starving after working for half the day.
While Go Biqing was eating breakfast, his phone suddenly rang. Seeing that it was Murong Qing again, Go Biqing felt a bit reluctant to answer; yesterday he had already decided to keep some distance from Murong Qing.
Watching the phone ringing non-stop, Go Biqing finally answered it, because regardless of anything, Murong Qing was his friend and had helped him a lot, so it would be rude to suddenly ignore someone’s call.
After answering the call, Go Biqing realized he shouldn’t have, because Murong Qing was already at the company’s entrance, and she had brought breakfast with her.
At this point, Go Biqing could only smile bitterly. Luckily, he was starving, and hadn’t had enough to eat, so there was no choice but to go over.
When Go Biqing arrived at the company entrance, from a distance he saw a girl standing in the breeze in a pink dress, holding some lunch boxes—it was clear they contained food. When the girl saw Go Biqing, her face naturally displayed a gentle smile, blending with the morning sunlight, causing Go Biqing’s heart to flutter involuntarily.
"I happened to pass by here today. Have you had breakfast? Let’s eat together." Murong Qing said eagerly as she started walking over before Go Biqing could even get to her.
With such a request, what could Go Biqing say? He certainly couldn’t say he was full and didn’t want to eat.
"Alright, okay." Seeing Go Biqing agree so easily, Murong Qing kept smiling, but her glance made Go Biqing a bit more nervous, as he was increasingly certain Murong Qing might indeed be interested in him.
After finding a place to sit, Murong Qing opened the lid of the lunch box. Go Biqing looked inside and saw it was a bowl of porridge. Yet, as soon as he smelled it, he knew it must be from a place he used to frequent, where he could never forget the taste of their porridge—it was genuinely very good, with several branches now open across H City. Coincidentally, Go Biqing knew the nearest branch was at least four to five kilometers away from Tianheng Company, indicating that Murong Qing had put some effort into this breakfast.
After finishing the porridge, Murong Qing asked, "How’s the taste? You should remember the porridge from this place; you treated me to it once before."
Upon hearing Murong Qing say this, Go Biqing carefully recalled and finally remembered—it was from over a year ago. He had accidentally bought an extra serving and happened to bump into Murong Qing. At that time, they were already ordinary friends.
Speaking of how Go Biqing and Murong Qing first met, it was rather interesting—it was during Murong Qing’s first days at school, and Go Biqing was among the senior students welcoming newcomers. Right then, a few guys spotted such a beautiful girl and naturally vied for a chance to get closer to her, except for Go Biqing who stayed put, assisting a plain-looking girl with her registration. Although he stole a few glances at Murong Qing, he didn’t approach; eventually, when Go Biqing finished helping the girl in front of him, Murong Qing directly approached Go Biqing herself, and that was how they came to know each other.
