Chapter 1067: Chapter 64
Actually, Murong Qing was annoyed with these guys at the time, including Go Biqing. Still, Go Biqing was the one who took a few extra glances at Murong Qing back then. Among these welcoming people, Murong Qing really couldn’t find anyone who caught her eye. Only Go Biqing seemed relatively honest to her, that’s why she approached Go Biqing. Later, they both worked in the student union, naturally having more opportunities to interact, and eventually became ordinary friends.
"Yeah, the taste is still great. Thanks for the breakfast," Go Biqing said gratefully. He didn’t admit that time he bought an extra portion because it was hot, and he was worried the porridge would go bad, so he casually asked Murong Qing.
Murong Qing seemed very pleased with Go Biqing’s response and said, "Really? If you like it, I’ll buy it for you again tomorrow."
When Go Biqing heard Murong Qing’s words, his heart skipped a beat. This was bad. He was planning to keep his distance, but accepting breakfast from someone could easily turn them into a couple. Yet Go Biqing really didn’t want to date right now; he felt involved in a relationship was quite luxurious.
"No need, you live so far away and have to get up early to buy it, no point," Go Biqing said, already suspecting Murong Qing truly had feelings for him, with at least eighty percent certainty. Otherwise, why would a girl randomly deliver breakfast and dinner to a guy?
Murong Qing heard Go Biqing’s refusal, her face showed no change, but her eyes seemed slightly dim, though it was fleeting, so Go Biqing didn’t notice.
"Oh, by the way, Tianheng Company seems pretty good. I’m planning to intern at this company too. I’ll need you to take care of me then. I’m stepping down from the student union president position this week, so I’ll have more time," Murong Qing said, seemingly unaffected by Go Biqing’s refusal.
"Alright, I’ll notify you when the company hires, how’s that? Anyway, your senior year tasks aren’t very heavy," Go Biqing said, yet he had no actual plan to inform Murong Qing when there’s news. If Murong Qing joined, working closely together could spark something. Considering her family background and looks, she’d have countless admirers, and during college, Go Biqing was careful to maintain distance, otherwise he’d have quite a few guys hating him.
Murong Qing seemed quite satisfied with Go Biqing’s response and said: "That’s more like it. I need to keep an eye on you, or what if you back off and don’t treat me to a meal."
Right now, Go Biqing doesn’t believe such words at all. He’s not a three-year-old child, so he smiled and said, "Don’t worry, I can’t escape, I’m off to work, you better head back. Otherwise, if someone sees, they’ll misunderstand our relationship, be careful of your reputation then."
Upon hearing Go Biqing’s joke, Murong Qing seems to ponder something, until Go Biqing entered the company, she muttered quietly, "That... would... be good."
Murong Qing was still lost in thought when the phone rang, it was a call from Zhou Jiaying.
"Qingqing, where are you? I’m free today, let’s go shopping," Zhou Jiaying casually said over the phone.
Murong Qing, without knowing what she was thinking, replied directly: "Sure, I’m in front of Tianheng Company."
"What? What are you doing in your dad’s company’s entrance? If you have family matters, forget it," Zhou Jiaying thought Murong Qing had family issues to handle.
Murong Qing finally snapped back to reality, quickly replying: "Nothing, nothing, but I might not have much time to hang out. I have things during lunch and dinner. Where are you? I’ll find you."
"I’m still at home, you know how chatterboxy my dad is. Come pick me up, he won’t let me drive, so frustrating, having a car but can’t use it," Zhou Jiaying sounded like a child mistreated by her parents, almost sobbing.
Murong Qing paid little heed to Zhou Jiaying’s words. She knew how much Zhou Jiaying was pampered at home, even her unrelated grandpa adored her excessively, more so than all her cousins combined.
As Murong Qing prepared to leave, someone suddenly called out to her—it was Li Mei. She saw Murong Qing yesterday and was genuinely shocked. Tianheng Company is a mid-sized enterprise, actually a subsidiary of Tianheng Group, but because it’s the chairman’s starting point, it holds sentimental value. Li Mei had met Murong Qing by chance before, and seeing the chairman’s daughter help a newly hired employee with moving was surprising. She felt it necessary to understand the relationship to avoid offending Go Biqing.
"Hello Miss, here to see Go Biqing?" Li Mei said with a smile, with a slight flattering tone, understandably.
Murong Qing, in contrast to her soft demeanor when sipping porridge with Go Biqing, felt harder to approach now.
"Yes, just remember not to speak carelessly, I’m interning in a few days. I want to join your company. Tell Uncle Wang this, anyway he manages Tianheng Company now. My friend just joined, assist him as needed, and don’t mention anything he doesn’t know," Murong Qing instructed simply.
Li Mei immediately agreed, viewing it as a better opportunity than joining the main company. She had deduced Murong Qing and Go Biqing’s relationship was likely not simple, assuming they were probably dating, she decided to genuinely assist Go Biqing. Impressing the Miss meant future success awaited.
After returning to the company, Go Biqing found himself surprisingly unburdened at work. Waking at dawn to complete simple tasks meant spending mornings in boredom, aside from occasional postcard deliveries, there seemed nothing else requiring his attention.
Moreover, a representative from the general affairs department visited, asking if anything was needed. Remembering what Li Mei mentioned earlier, Go Biqing made no requests. Nonetheless, they recorded and promised delivery of cabinets and chairs in a few days, leaving Go Biqing puzzled. He couldn’t discern if Li Mei lied or what happened, but considering, there seemed no reason for Li Mei to lie about this, which held no benefit for her. He concluded it was likely his luck that things went smoothly.
