Chapter 1080: Chapter 77:

"No, I simply don’t have the time or obligation to raise this child. Baby, don’t blame me, don’t you still have a brother? He will take care of you," Sun Yan whispered, looking at the baby only a few months old.

The sight of the sleeping child made Sun Yan feel a bit unwilling. Such an innocent, adorable child, abandoned by his own mother at such a young age.

"Your mother is worse than a beast, to be so heartless as to abandon you. I hope you find happiness in the future." Just the thought of that woman made Sun Yan grind her teeth with hatred. Sun Yan hadn’t even married yet dared to have Nana, so she naturally despised and loathed those who abandoned their children.

At this moment, a sudden doorbell pulled Sun Yan back into reality. When she checked the video intercom, it turned out Gwen had returned.

After opening the door, Gwen saw her mother holding a child and quickly asked, "Mom, whose child is this? So cute."

Sun Yan forced a smile, saying nothing more. Gwen noticed something was off about her mother’s expression, so she asked, "Mom, is this the brother you had outside?"

When Sun Yan heard what Gwen said, her expression immediately changed, "Where did you hear that? Where did you learn such things? You’re so young, how do you know about these things?"

Seeing her mother angry, Gwen didn’t dare say much. She didn’t even know where she went wrong.

Looking at the innocent Gwen, Sun Yan’s expression softened slightly and she said, "Don’t watch too many soap operas, and don’t talk about this outside. This is your brother, but he’s not mom’s child, just like you and your brother."

Gwen didn’t understand much of this, but her mother’s angry demeanor was still fresh in her mind. She dared not ask more, merely nodded to show her opinion, though still curiously looking at the baby in Sun Yan’s arms.

"Alright, quickly put down your backpack, wash your hands, and then you can come see the baby. Otherwise, be careful your germs will make the baby sick." Knowing the relationship between Gwen and Go Biqing, Sun Yan knew she couldn’t stop Gwen from liking the child.

Gwen happily put down her backpack, washed her hands, then came over to touch the baby’s smooth face and asked, "What’s his name?"

Sun Yan only then remembered she didn’t know the name, so she picked up the letter to look closely and found the name on the back of a photo, "His name is Gao Yulong."

Gwen didn’t know much else, but she certainly knew the child shared the same last name as her, so he must be her brother.

"Don’t speak loudly, your brother just fell asleep. Don’t wake him up, be good," Sun Yan quickly said, seeing Gwen’s reaction.

Gwen immediately clapped her hand over her mouth. Seeing her daughter’s adorable expression, some of Sun Yan’s irritability eased a bit.

"Nana, mom doesn’t have time; who do you think will take care of this baby?" Sun Yan seemed to jokingly ask.

Gwen didn’t hesitate for a moment and said, "Of course, it’s us! I want to be with my brother, in the future, I’ll love him just like brother loves me."

Sun Yan felt joy and sorrow in her heart. Joy at Gwen’s kindness, sorrow that Gwen’s dream might never be realized, because she never planned to raise this child herself. After all, this child had nothing to do with her and was in fact indirectly the reason she and Go Biqing’s father broke up.

Gwen spent the whole afternoon with the baby, growing more fond of him with each glance. Sun Yan, on the other hand, grew increasingly worried. This wasn’t going to work, the sooner the child was sent away, the better, otherwise, Gwen would truly become too attached.

Realizing this, Sun Yan immediately said, "Nana, take care of your brother while I’m out for a bit. I’ll be back soon, and don’t carry him or you might accidentally drop him."

Gwen was so delighted watching the baby that she didn’t care about Sun Yan’s actions.

After Sun Yan went out, she came back in about half an hour. The baby was still asleep, but Sun Yan seemed particularly drained, gritting her teeth as if she was muttering something. She had surely gone to find Gao Yulong’s biological mother.

"Mom, I’m hungry, the baby must need to eat too, right?" Gwen suddenly said.

After Sun Yan finished making the meal and they had eaten, she took out the powdered milk from the package. Perhaps it was because Gwen’s voice woke him or maybe he was just hungry, but the baby finally started to cry loudly.

Luckily, there was a bottle of milk there. From the looks of it, this wasn’t cow’s milk. There were traces of blood in the milk, it could only be breast milk.

"Nana, it’s time for English study." Sun Yan realized this wasn’t a solution and said so. Reluctantly, Gwen returned to her room. Sun Yan then took the baby’s things and quickly left, driving straight to Tianheng Company. Sun Yan had learned from Gwen that Go Biqing worked here, and had food and accommodation.

Sun Yan called Go Biqing, who didn’t know why she was looking for him. When he came out and saw Sun Yan holding a baby and carrying stuff, he was even more puzzled.

"This child is called Gao Yulong, he is your brother." Once inside the room, Sun Yan said this directly as her first sentence.

Go Biqing was dumbstruck. What was this? How all of a sudden he had a brother, and only a few months old at that? It was terrifying.

"How is that possible," Go Biqing said in disbelief.

Sun Yan sighed and said, "Have you wondered why I haven’t mentioned marrying your father in the past half-year? And why I’ve hardly interacted with your father at all?"

Go Biqing, who was still thinking about the child, heard Sun Yan suddenly bring up something seemingly unrelated and asked, "What’s that got to do with anything?"

Sun Yan looked at Gao Yulong complexly, then said, "Let me explain. This all started in October last year when I happened to discover your father had another woman outside. That’s when I broke up with your father. Her name is Zhang Jingjing, she’s a minor actress and probably seduced your father. Anyway, your father didn’t want to part with her, so I decided to end it with him, and I never mentioned marriage again. This child is Zhang Jingjing and your father’s. Today, when I wasn’t home, Zhang Jingjing suddenly showed up pretending to be Nana’s aunt, left the child, and took off. By the time I got to her place, she had vanished without a trace and I couldn’t find her."
