Chapter 471 (Massage Chair Extra - )

Liam remained silent for a long moment before raising his head to look James squarely in the eye.

"Mr. James, I understand what you mean, however, I cannot sacrifice my sister’s happiness for my own future, if only one person can be adopted, I hope it is Anna."

Anna gripped Liam’s hand even tighter, crying out, "Brother, no! I can’t live without you!"

"Hurry up, I will give you the time it takes an incense stick to burn to think it over, if time runs out, I won’t adopt either of you!" the wealthy man pressed.

At those words, both their faces grew even paler, they knew this was a difficult choice, a cruel reality laid bare before them, Liam held Anna’s hand tightly, as if trying to pour every last drop of his courage into her.

"Anna, listen to me." His voice trembled slightly, but the firmness beneath it was unmistakable.

"You must go to Mr. James’s house, there will be good food and warm clothes, you can go to school like other children, I cannot be selfish and only think about my own future."

Anna shook her head desperately, tears sliding down like pearls from a broken string. "Brother, I don’t want to! Without you, I don’t want anything!"

Liam took a deep breath and forced his voice sterner. "Anna, why are you being so ignorant! Do you know how long I have hoped you could live a good life? Now that there’s an opportunity, how can you give it up?"

Anna was frightened, she had never seen her brother treat her so strictly, but she knew he was doing it for her own good, she bit her lip hard, trying not to cry out loud.

"Brother..." Her voice choked with sobs.

"I... I’m afraid that if I go there, I’ll never see you again..."

Those words sliced through Liam’s heart like a knife, but he hardened his resolve. "Anna, you must believe in your Brother, I will come look for you, no matter how hard it is, I will find you, study hard and live well, once Brother makes money, I’ll come pick you up."

Looking at the determined gaze burning in his eyes, Anna was still afraid, but she gradually understood, she nodded, tears sliding down once more. "Brother, I promise you, I will be obedient, you absolutely must come find me."

Liam hugged her tightly, as if wanting to merge her into his very body. "Anna, remember, no matter what happens, I will always love you and always protect you."

Then he let go and pushed her gently toward James.

Anna looked back, eyes full of reluctance and dependence, but she choked back her tears and walked toward James.

Without warning, Anna whipped around and ran straight back.

"Brother, I’m sorry! I still can’t do it, I can’t bear to let you suffer outside all alone, I’m not afraid of hardship."

"I’ll stay with Brother, when Brother is tired, I can at least give you a hug!"

Her tiny body clung desperately to Liam, holding on as if the world itself were trying to tear them apart.

Watching this, a surge of complicated emotions welled up in James’s heart, he had never witnessed a sibling bond this deep, the genuine feeling between them moved him and forced him to reconsider.

He walked over, crouched down, and spoke gently. "Anna, Liam, your bond touches me deeply, but life isn’t only about emotion, there are also responsibilities and choices, Liam wants you to live a better life, that is his love and responsibility, and you, Anna, giving up a better opportunity for your brother, that is equally love and responsibility."

Anna lifted her tear-streaked face. "Mr. James, I know my brother is doing it for my own good, but I can’t abandon him alone, we are family, we have to be together."

Liam grasped Anna’s hand with unwavering resolve. "Mr. James, my sister and I are willing to work hard together. No matter how bitter or exhausting, we can endure it. Please give us a chance to grow together."

James looked at the siblings, he understood that the bond between them could not be severed. Separating them would only bring more pain. He took a deep breath and made his decision.

"Alright, I agree." A smile spread across his face.

"I will adopt both of you, but remember, this opportunity did not come easily, cherish it, study hard, and become useful people."

Liam and Anna broke into tears of joy, hugging each other tightly, as if wanting to freeze this moment inside their hearts forever.

"Thank you, Mr. James! Thank you!" they said in unison.

James smiled and extended his hand. "From today onward, you are my children, I will treat you exactly as my own flesh and blood."

Liam and Anna held tightly onto his hand, eyes brimming with gratitude.

Holding their small hands, Adam felt extremely satisfied.

Their affection for one another was incredibly sincere, most importantly, the little boy had drive and ambition.

When he thought there could only be one spot, he hadn’t hesitated to give the opportunity to his sister, and when he noticed the moved expression on Adam’s face, he was brave enough to seize the moment and ask to be adopted together.

The first trial was passed.

But there were much harder trials yet to come.

The corners of Adam’s mouth curled up.

The moment James brought Liam and Anna back to his manor, the two children’s eyes went wide, the magnificent estate looked like a glittering, dreamlike castle, towering pavilions, exquisite carvings, spacious courtyards, everything felt novel and spectacular.

"Wow, Brother, this place is so big and pretty!" Anna held Liam’s hand, looking around with excitement.

Liam couldn’t help but marvel. "Yeah, Anna, we’ve never seen a place like this."

James smiled. "This is your home now, you’ll live here and have better living and studying conditions."

"Really? We can live here?" Anna’s eyes went round, unable to believe her ears.

"Of course, Anna." James gently stroked her head.

"This is your home, you’re going to live a happy life."

James led them inside, and everything left them overwhelmed, the opulent living hall, the spacious bedrooms, the exquisite dining room, and two rows of servants lined up on either side, bowing deeply.

"Welcome home, Young Master, Young Miss!"

The two little ones instantly stiffened up, standing frozen in place at a loss for what to do, their small faces not knowing where to look.
