Gravity Mage with Level-Up System
Chapter 2212: Meeting Duncan
Magic City Territory
I had left Crystal city a few minutes earlier. Now, I continue to fly over the satellite cities.
I didn’t try to hide my presence. I was doing this to see who would try to attack me. I was also not using the space layer to shorten the distance.
Swoosh!
Like a shooting star, my body rocketed forward. As I flew over the cities, I could sense a powerful presence inside each one.
Those people never averted their gazes until I left their sight. I thought I had crossed at least ten cities already.
Just then, my senses picked up something. It was the mana presence of a familiar Magic Lord. I slowed my speed.
There was a city ahead of me, and the presence was coming from that place. The presence was not deliberate.
There was the presence of other Supreme Wizards and Magic Lords in the city. As I got closer, the familiar presence of the Magic Lord could be felt.
Thud!
I landed on the ground and started walking up to the city gate. There were compound walls around the city, and a huge signboard welcomed people to Willow City.
I spotted flying cabs coming in and going out of the city. I raised my head and observed the cars.
There were a few wizards like me who had landed outside the city gate. I didn’t know why, but I thought it was important to check out the familiar presence.
I had a clue about this person, but I wondered what he was doing here instead of coming to see me earlier.
Next, I started toward the gate. As I got closer, I saw someone waiting for me. The person was an Elder of Willow City.
"Magic Lord Vincent, welcome to our city," the middle-aged Elder said.
I was not surprised to hear that.
"I’m going to take a short break here before leaving," I said to him.
The Elder smiled and said, "You are most welcome to our city."
"You can continue with your duties. There is no need to give me special treatment," I said to him.
Hearing that, the Elder nodded. After going inside the city, he left with his people. I could see passersby looking at me.
I didn’t wait and left the place. They saw a person vanish before their eyes, understanding that person must be a powerful wizard.
So, they didn’t linger there any longer. The Elder and the officials didn’t want a crowd to gather.
They knew the name of Magic Lord Vincent was quite popular. If the news about him visiting Willow City became widely known, more and more people would come to the city.
Swoosh!
On the other hand, I flew over the roads and buildings, following the clues. My body moved so fast that no one could see me.
Next, I entered a narrow alley. I got closer to the Magic Lord’s presence. Soon, I arrived before him. Upon seeing him, my eyes gleamed with a twinkle.
"It’s you," I said with a smile.
Swoosh!
The next second, I brought the Magic Lord inside the system space. The middle-aged man appeared before me. The person was none other than Magic Lord Duncan.
"Master Vincent," Duncan uttered. But he was internally shaken to the core. He felt a powerful Magic Lord presence coming from Master Vincent.
He was a Magic Lord himself, but he didn’t know why he felt suppressed in the Master’s presence. He knew it was not his imagination.
He also knew it wasn’t the work of the crimson curse binding his mana core. He wasn’t feeling anything from the mana core.
So, he knew it was entirely related to Master Vincent. It was the power of a Magic Lord.
Duncan then collected his thoughts. He looked at Master Vincent with deep reverence, thinking it would be a matter of time before Master Vincent became a Forbidden Wizard.
If he became an Elder Level Powerhouse one day, he wouldn’t be surprised either.
"I knew the familiar presence was you," I said. "Have you returned from the mission?"
"I returned from the mission earlier. After I returned, I heard the news of your breakthrough," Duncan replied.
"I wanted to meet you right away, but you had already left for the crystal city. I didn’t want to go to the crystal city either. Everyone’s eyes were locked on the city."
Hearing that, I felt his words were true. Then my attention shifted to the intel details. I had ordered Duncan to collect inside information as well as important intelligence.
"Have you collected the intel?" I asked.
Duncan’s expression shifted. He knew about the order. He nodded his head and began to explain.
"The Wizard Tower Wizards have started engaging in private battles against the Covenant Wizards, but those wizards are not the core members."
"We found out the wizards were captives. They were forced to fight for the Covenant under an oath," Duncan said to me.
I listened, standing cross-armed. I was not surprised about the captives; I had already come across them before.
"Now, the Wizard Tower elders have been given orders to find the core members of the Covenant. Then we will know more about the enemy," Duncan said.
Hearing that, I thought the Mage Union knew everything. Yet they were being quiet for some reason. Even I knew a lot more about the Covenant Organization than these people.
"Alright, is there anything else?" I asked.
Magic Lord Duncan nodded.
"Master Vincent, it’s about you. Your breakthrough has caused trouble for the Black Tower. The Elders have decided not to take action against you.
"But there are wizards who are unwilling to accept this. They might try to deal with you indirectly," Duncan said.
Hearing that, I smiled. I had heard this same warning before.
Earlier, they had tried direct methods to eliminate me, but they had failed. Now, they were going to use indirect methods. They would fail this time as well.
"Don’t worry, I’ll protect myself," I said to him.
Next, I took out the few storage bracelets I had taken from the captives outside. I handed them over to Magic Lord Duncan.
Duncan was taken aback. He didn’t know what they were.
"These are the magic resources for your share. I have given some to the others as well," I said to him.
A look of understanding dawned on Duncan’s face. He then accepted the storage bracelets.
