Chapter 395: Make A Bowl

Lu Ye frowned hard when he heard the woman ask him whether or not he wanted to try the thing that was bubbling in the pot. He had never seen the thing that was moving up and down in the pot before. However, the smell that was coming from the pot was really good. He sniffed the scent that was coming from the bubbling liquid and could not help but ask, "This...is this thing even edible?"

"Of course, it is edible!" Ruan Chanchan hurriedly nodded and agreed. She knew that the mer was interested in the instant noodles and immediately started to sing praises of her creation. "My dear young master, I promise that you might have never seen something like this before. A dish so delicious that you will come to taste it again and again once you have taken a bite of it. If you don’t believe me, then you can take a bite of the samples. It is completely free! You can taste it as you like."

As she spoke, she pointed to the small bowls that she had made with the help of leaves.

When Lu Ye heard that there were samples that were free to eat, his eyes widened. He had never seen an operation like this before. "They are free? You are not going to charge me any money for tasting them?"

"Of course not." Ruan Chanchan agreed without any hesitation. She knew that the instant noodles were something that the beast people had never seen; since that was the case, if she did not give them free samples, then there was no chance that these instant noodles would fail before even getting a chance to become a hit.

Lu Ye’s brain started to function quite swiftly. He looked at the samples in front of him and thought about it carefully. He did not trust Ruan Chanchan, since the woman was from the big bear tribe. So, it was better for him to try this instant noodles thing first. Anyway, their tribe were known for their medical skills, and he could always deal with a little poison swiftly.

With that thought in his head, he raised his head and arrogantly said, "Alright, pack some for me."

Seeing his arrogance, Ruan Zeqiu was quite upset. Who was this mer looking down at? But before he could lose his temper with him, Ruan Chanchan reached out and pinched the mer on the waist. She was worried that the mer would end up saying something he should not and ruin a good deal. Unlike the rest of the members, she had been keeping an eye on the things around them. She noticed how everyone parted to make way for this mer and no one said a thing, even when he broke through the lines.

Either this mer was someone powerful, or he had a lot of money.

She had no idea what kind of authority this mer had, but it had to be quite a major one because these people were treating him with quite some courtesy. At least they were showing him more courtesy than they were showing to her and her tribe’s people.

Upon being reminded, Ruan Zeqiu immediately flashed a smile to the mer and then handed him the small bowl of samples. It was a cone-shaped bowl with only a single bite of the instant noodles in it, but even so, Ruan Zeqiu felt like they were making a loss. However, this was an idea that came from the mind of his brilliant sister, and even though he felt that there was something wrong, he could only purse his lips and listen to his sister.

He just hoped that his sister’s plans would come to fruition, or else they would be mocked by the entire tribe, and the elders would definitely give them a hard time!

Lu Ye took the small bowl. When he saw the amount of the sample, he was not happy. Totem warriors ate a lot of food, and this small piece, called a sample, was not enough to fill even the gap between his teeth. But when he thought about how this thing was free, he decided to ignore the pitiful amount that was handed to him. Instead, he poured the contents of the bowl into his mouth.

Gotcha!

When Ruan Chanchan saw that Lu Ye had eaten the sample, she could not help but cheer up. It seemed like the plan that she came up with was finally going to come into fruition. She, however, suppressed a smile as she was worried that Lu Ye would notice something amiss and cause trouble for her. From the looks of it, this mer was quite arrogant. If he saw her laughing, who knows how he would react? So she might as well act carefully.

But what Ruan Chanchan did not know was that Lu Ye was too focused on chewing the food in his mouth to care about her. At that moment, he did not know what to say or think. As far as he knew, this was the first time he had ever eaten something so good! He had no idea what this thing called ’instant noodles’ was, but it tasted divine.

He chewed twice before swallowing it down and asked Ruan Chanchan, "Did you say that you are selling these instant noodles?"

"Yes!" Ruan Chanchan responded at once, almost rubbing her hands inwardly. Here it comes! She was finally going to make the first pot of gold. She was someone who had worked in supermarkets and all kinds of odd jobs; she knew when a customer was hooked and when he or she was going to make a purchase.

Even though Lu Ye pretended to suppress his excitement, she could see that he wanted to eat the instant noodles very much. Of course he did! Because there was no way anyone could resist the charm and temptation of instant noodles!

Sure enough!

As soon as he finished speaking, Lu Ye cleared his throat and said, "Then make a bowl for me."
