Heir of Synthesis: The World Mage
Chapter 367: Exalted Legacies
Priam’s attack struck the Wyvern directly in the chest, instantly piercing through its scales and producing a terrifying crack. Fortunately, Priam hadn’t added any other kind of power besides his new bloodline.
If he had wanted to, the beast would have been reduced to a bloody mist without any difficulty. However, he carefully calculated the impact, leaving it barely clinging to life—just enough for Dandara to subdue it afterward.
The force of the collision sent the creature crashing into the ground, causing a colossal wave of earth to erupt all around it.
The attack had landed perfectly. Priam couldn’t help but feel satisfied and excited.
Suddenly, the Wyvern began to rise from the ground again.
Priam snorted, sensing the Essence of Creation flowing through the beast’s body.
This was another application of the Essence of Creation: protecting vital organs from certain death. Without knowing that Priam had no intention of killing it, the creature had resorted to its last resort.
However, this was a one-time trump card, as it consumed a colossal amount of Essence of Creation.
High-level Sages were extremely difficult to kill precisely because they possessed this ability to save their own lives once.
*Sky-Rending Wind!*
Priam unleashed his wind attack. Although it was a weak technique for his current level, it was still sharp and precise.
A relentless blade of wind descended upon the Wyvern, aiming directly at one of its wings.
*BOOOM!*
The wave of energy struck the monster head-on, sending it crashing back to the ground and raising a dense cloud of dust.
Priam didn’t waste any time and swiftly descended to the ground.
Reaching the fallen target, he began manifesting Soul Poison Runes and driving them directly into the Wyvern’s battered body.
Within seconds, he injected a dozen poisonous runes before stopping.
Everything fell silent.
Dandara emerged through the dust, stopping beside Priam.
When she arrived, Priam turned toward her with a slight smile.
"All set. Now, establish the contract."
"Will it be okay?" Dandara hesitated. If she tried to form the contract and the beast resisted, the backlash could cause dangerous damage to its soul. In its weakened state, there was a risk that the beast could die from the impact.
"Don’t worry. If it fails, I can control the backlash on its soul so it won’t kill it," Priam said confidently. His Vanculari race specialized in this. Although he hadn’t practiced soul power extensively, he possessed excellent control over it, and with the System’s support, the process was perfectly safe.
Dandara nodded and, with extreme care, shaped the contract rune as she approached the fallen creature.
The Wyvern’s massive body trembled, and its eyes rolled around as if it were trapped in a nightmare. Its soul was in complete chaos—a peculiar form of torture caused by the poison.
As expected, the beast instinctively tried to resist several times. But...
Surprisingly, it never actually broke the connection, allowing the contract to be established.
It couldn’t really be said that the beast had willingly accepted the contract in such a chaotic state. Most likely, its dazed mind hadn’t been able to recognize the nature of the ritual. Besides, since it detected no hostility from Dandara, it allowed the connection to be sealed.
"Very good... now she’s my contract beast!" Dandara’s voice trembled slightly.
She felt as if she were living in a dream. She was now in control of a legendary beast—something absolutely unbelievable to her.
The smile that appeared on her face sent a wave of warmth through Priam’s soul. The desire to make that smile last forever had already taken root deep within him, with no turning back.
"She? Hmmm..." Only now did Priam realize that the Wyvern was female.
Although its primary element was fire—something of a Yang nature—its flames were bizarre, carrying an unusual fusion of Yin. They weren’t purely Yin flames like Flaris’s, but they contained a much higher concentration than normal, giving them an extremely corrosive effect.
Priam took a deep breath and released Mirra.
The little girl came running over and began healing the Wyvern, helping to control the soul toxin that had accumulated inside its body.
Dandara also helped, attempting to communicate with it mentally to comfort it.
The Wyvern finally stopped trembling an hour later. She slowly got back on her feet, still extremely weakened.
Her scales were shattered, her body was covered in blood, and her left wing had almost been torn completely from her torso.
"Seriously, why didn’t you surrender earlier? Now we’re all stuck in this situation..." Dandara said in an understanding tone. Then she continued aloud, "You’re with me now, and Boss will take good care of you. But you need to be a good girl and listen to me."
Priam heard that and narrowed his eyes. At that moment, the Wyvern’s gigantic body began to glow intensely, changing its form.
Then... a little humanoid girl with red skin and long crimson hair emerged from the light. She looked no more than ten years old, and her amber eyes locked onto Priam with a resentful gleam.
Dandara smiled slightly. "Her name is Lulani, and she was born on this planet about six years ago."
Hearing that, Priam’s eyes changed.
"Hehe... she said she’s the daughter of two disciples of this planet’s Leader. That’s why she was born and nurtured with as many resources as possible. By the time she was three, she had already become a Sage. That’s inconceivable for humanoids, but for Primordial Chaos Beasts with such an ancient bloodline, it’s possible as long as no resources are spared," Dandara explained further. But when she looked at Priam and Mirra, she sighed with a hint of sadness.
The reason was obvious. Priam had deliberately limited Mirra’s growth as much as possible, making her behave like a child and encouraging her to relax, while also teaching her how to behave and be a proper person. That little Wyvern, on the other hand... had been forced to grow physically as quickly as possible.
At only one year old, she already had an adult body and had been abandoned on the planet to survive and train on her own. The nature of Primordial Chaos Beasts was extremely brutal.
Lulani had lived up to expectations and reached a terrifying level of power. The problem... was that she had become a completely irrational and savage creature, with no understanding whatsoever of right and wrong.
In fact... she didn’t even know how to speak. Dandara could only communicate directly with her mind, understanding what she wanted to say without the need for words.
Even Mirra, when she looked into that girl’s insane and savage eyes, felt a tightness in her chest. Her eyes trembled; it was like looking at a reflection of herself, if Priam hadn’t rescued her from her own race.
"You’ll have time to teach her everything," Priam said with a sigh. Then he turned around and took several pills from his spatial ring. "Take these pills to stabilize your soul better."
Although Mirra could easily heal the physical injuries, the damage caused by the soul toxin wasn’t so easy to purge.
Fortunately, Priam had kept some pills for emergencies like this. They weren’t rare or expensive items, but the constitution of a Primordial Chaos Beast was absurdly powerful, and its recovery abilities were astonishing.
Priam chose to spend some time there so Lulani could recover. After all... why the hell would such a powerful being be wandering around this particular region?
Priam and Dandara had been sent to the planet at random. However, the entire planet was filled with inheritances and teachings for the natives to study—it wasn’t just a place with natural treasures.
After two hours, Dandara began communicating mentally with the young Wyvern again, asking her several questions.
Until suddenly, her eyes lit up, and she turned toward Priam.
"Boss! She said that a few kilometers from here, there’s one of the planet’s seven Exalted Legacies! She lives in this region precisely because she has spent her entire life studying that inheritance. It was thanks to it that she reached her current level of power!"
Priam nodded, excited. They had finally found what they needed most: information.
