Heir of Synthesis: The World Mage

Chapter 406: Unforgettable Reception

  • Next Chapter

Everyone watching the scene was stunned, staring at the beautiful Pixie in complete shock. They couldn’t believe what they had just heard, either.

The reason Priam had decided to step outside and see them was because of the spiritual fluctuation he had felt connecting with him moments earlier — it was as if those Pixies were greeting him.

As he looked at the girl with such delicate features that she looked like a porcelain doll — but whose body, covered in fur, created an openly beast-like contrast — Priam couldn’t help but give an awkward smile.

"Oh? Big bro doesn’t want to play with me?" she said in a clearly ambiguous tone.

In this savage world, there was no such thing as casual, friendly play or interactions between adults. A woman saying something like that would clearly sound like a peculiar way of asking someone out.

At those words, Priam felt as if a sharp blade were pointed directly at his back.

He didn’t even need to look behind him to know that Dandara’s piercing gaze was locked onto him at that exact moment.

The young girl seemed innocent, but her words and the intention in her eyes toward Priam carried something peculiar — which obviously didn’t please his girlfriend in the slightest.

Priam sighed inwardly. Dandara was still struggling with low self-esteem and didn’t feel completely secure by his side; perhaps because they hadn’t been together for very long.

"Sorry, but this big brother isn’t exactly a good person. You’ve judged me wrong, and I can’t play with you right now," Priam said, keeping a calm expression.

Priam didn’t consider himself a bad person, but saying he was evil would also be an exaggeration. Still, seeing such an adorable female figure inviting him to ’play’ in that way, anyone — even if they were single — would hesitate in that situation.

"The Goddess’s Blessing allows everyone of my race to judge people perfectly. We can see their karma. Big brother is a good person, I’m sure of it. I see a gray, almost white aura around you," she continued, looking Priam directly in the eyes.

"Why not play with me? I just woke up after sleeping for three hundred thousand years, and now I want to go outside and play. But my mother won’t let me leave this area," the Pixie pleaded, almost begging.

Priam was visibly surprised. "How old are you?"

"According to humanoid standards, eight hundred thousand years have already passed since I was born. But I spent most of that time sleeping, so I never had the chance to interact with other people. Actually, besides you, the others make me uncomfortable... I can’t play with them. So, how about playing with me?" The Pixie stared at Priam with large, expectant eyes. No one could possibly say no to an expression like that.

He was a little dazed. After all, he could barely comprehend what eight hundred thousand years of existence actually meant.

However, upon noticing the expectation in her eyes, he replied, "Alright. When I have some free time, my girlfriend and I will take you out to play. But we have some important matters to deal with today, so we can’t accompany you right now."

The Pixie immediately smiled, overflowing with excitement. To her, even if it took a hundred years, it would still be nothing more than the blink of an eye.

"Big brother, my name is Eudora!"

He nodded. "My name is Priam."

"I won’t bother you anymore! I’ll come find you again later!" she said with a smile.

Then, the Pixie flapped her enchanting white wings and shot into the sky.

After rejoining the flock, the other Pixies welcomed her with genuine joy, clearly happy for the young girl. They all cast one last curious glance at Priam from a distance and, together, took flight.

As they watched them disappear into the distance, the occupants of the flying ship felt as though they had just experienced a real dream.

*BUZZZZ*

At that exact moment, another Flying Ship cut across the sky, heading directly toward their vessel on a collision course.

Seeing the provocative maneuver, Dandara narrowed her eyes with restrained fury. However, just a few meters before impact, the airship suddenly slammed on the brakes and hovered in midair.

"You’ve got a lot of nerve ignoring my orders!" an arrogant voice roared.

Four figures jumped from the vessel and landed on the bow of their flying ship.

All of them radiated the pressure of Level 9 Sage Philosophers.

"Who are you?! Give me your name right now!" the group’s leader shouted, stepping forward and angrily pointing a finger straight at Priam’s face.

He was responsible for supervising and protecting the Pixies’ territory. Seeing a mere newcomer disobey his direct orders and even interact with the sacred creatures had dealt a serious blow to his pride.

Even though the Pixies had left unharmed, he had come fully intending to crush the insolent newcomer and settle the score.

"I’ll say it again: don’t point your finger in my face," Priam said, frowning. The guy’s attitude was unbelievably irritating.

Fearing an unnecessary conflict, another Sage stepped forward, trying to intervene. "Let me introduce us! We are—"

"Shut up! I didn’t give you permission to speak!" the first Sage roared, silencing his subordinate with absolute tyranny.

A third Sage from the group let out a mocking laugh as he looked at the ship. "This vessel... you’re the newly approved outer disciples, aren’t you?"

"A bunch of backwater newbies thinking they can act all arrogant?" the fourth man sneered. "Do you have any idea that the mortality rate in the inner sect is thousands of times higher than in the outer sect? Only the core disciples have an easy life around here. Trash like you doesn’t have the right to hold your heads high in this place. Otherwise, you’ll end up dead before you even realize what hit you."

The atmosphere inside the flying ship changed instantly.

The newly arrived disciples, who had been overflowing with excitement just moments ago, felt their joy suffocated by the petty provocation of this bunch. The anticipation in their eyes was replaced by blazing fury.

"What’s wrong, cat got your tongue?! Speak!" the leader shouted, losing what little patience he had left. With a brutal motion, he thrust his hand forward, aiming to grab Priam by the neck and humiliate him in front of everyone.

Seeing the man move against Priam, Shione, Flaris, and Lumiere didn’t even flinch—instead, they felt deep pity for the poor bastard. They were absolutely certain that something ’catastrophic’ was about to happen.

Dandara, on the other hand, flashed a radiant and wicked smile.

The very millisecond the man’s hand approached, Priam moved like a bolt of lightning.

His hand cut through the air... and the black branch manifested in a flash!

*POW!*

"FUCK YOU!"

*POW! POW! POW!*

*POW! POW! POW!*

He unleashed a terrifying barrage of strikes at a surreal speed, completely surpassing the Sage’s ability to react.

He didn’t even have time to think or activate his defenses. The brutal impact made his body fold in half, while his eyes nearly popped out of their sockets from the tearing pain.

The next instant, the man collapsed onto the deck of the airship like a dried-up shrimp, violently writhing around. His body was covered in deep black marks that burned with agonizing energy. The pain was so extreme that his throat locked up, preventing him from making even a single sound.

Priam’s abilities had evolved significantly. When his black branch struck a target, it now also injected a tiny amount of energy into their body, multiplying the victim’s agony. Of course, it still wasn’t enough to kill anyone with it.

The other three Sages stood frozen in pure horror. However, before they could even think about channeling their energy to react, a cold shiver ran down their spines.

*Clack! Clack! Clack!*

Dozens of gleaming weapons, overflowing with killing intent, emerged from the flying ship and were pointed directly at their heads.

They were surrounded, and the combined pressure of this faction locked the air around them in place.

The three Sages froze where they stood, cold sweat running down their faces.

"What... what do you think you’re doing?!" They would never have imagined that a bunch of newcomers would dare raise their weapons against veterans of the inner sect.

Priam merely snorted disdainfully and turned his back, the black branch disappearing between his fingers.

"Dandara!"

"Yes, Boss!" she replied, taking a firm step forward, her eyes sparkling with excitement.

Priam gazed at the vastness of the inner sect’s world before him. A nearly devilish smile curved his lips.

"Now that we’ve arrived here, there’s no point in acting modest. Let’s give them an unforgettable reception... Let’s cause a colossal uproar and carve our names into this inner sect once and for all!"
