Heir of Synthesis: The World Mage
Chapter 407: The Ruthless Character
Priam turned toward Sallya, Daraen, and Inigo. The three had been born in that incredible place, but had been summarily expelled while they were still young due to their ’lack of talent.’ Now, their dream of returning was finally becoming a reality.
However, they found themselves stunned and intimidated by Priam’s overwhelming and completely unfiltered attitude.
"You three, come here and give this bastard a good slap in the face," Priam ordered, his voice icy.
The three widened their eyes. Slap the face of a member responsible for enforcing the laws of the inner sect?! Would he really dare go that far?!
"Did you lose your balls? You risk your lives on the battlefield by my side, and now you don’t even have the guts to do this?" Priam cursed, staring at them seriously.
He stretched out his hand and lifted the fallen man by the collar, turning him toward the three.
Hearing the provocation, Daraen was the first to react. She gritted her teeth, planted her foot firmly, and charged forward without looking back.
*SLAP!*
Without the slightest hesitation, she delivered a resounding slap right across the man’s face. The sound echoed loudly through the air.
The impact was so brutal that Daraen’s hand immediately went numb, with a reddish swelling appearing on her skin.
"You’re courting death!" the other three roared furiously. They hadn’t even tried to stop her approach out of sheer disbelief; they never would have imagined that mere newcomers would have the audacity to humiliate one of them like that.
However, the millisecond they moved to retaliate...
The space around them rippled.
Dandara appeared in front of them like a blurred streak.
*CRACK!*
In the blink of an eye, she planted both feet against one of the Sages’ chests. The shockwave from the impact tore through the air, cracking the man’s ribs and launching him like a projectile out of the flying ship.
Without losing her momentum, Dandara used her own momentum to spin her body through the air in a perfect arc. Her legs rotated with elegance, combined with explosive brute force.
Her heel cut through the air like a blade and slammed brutally into the second man’s jaw.
*CRACK!*
The dry sound of teeth breaking echoed as the man was sent flying sideways, violently rolling across the deck, unconscious before he even hit the ground.
The third was the lucky one. His eyes widened in sheer terror as he frantically retreated, cold sweat running down his forehead.
"HOW DARE YOU!"
The three who could still move desperately regained their composure, gathering in the air and quickly drawing their gleaming weapons.
Dandara merely stared at them, wearing a cold, bloodthirsty smile.
"STOP!"
Suddenly, a thunderous shout cut through the skies. A group of middle-aged figures wearing robes bearing the symbol of the Inner Elders appeared, flying at an astonishing speed.
The middle-aged man leading the group laid eyes on Priam and froze in midair, shock evident on his face. "You..."
Before he could even formulate a question, he connected the dots: Priam was there to officially register with the inner sect.
Priam didn’t know that Elder, but the Elder certainly knew Priam. There was no one in the sect’s upper echelons who didn’t know his face and wasn’t aware of his terrifying status.
However... ordinary inner disciples and low-ranking law supervisors had no idea.
During the journey, Priam had heard from members of his faction that Mishnar had left a few words for him.
Priam still hadn’t been publicly announced as the sect’s Principal Disciple. This was a strategic decision made by the Sect Leader himself, and the reason was obvious:
There was only one Principal Disciple per generation. Normally, this title was contested through bloody and fierce battles between the sect’s greatest geniuses for decades. However, Priam had cut in line and taken the throne directly.
Countless geniuses and factions had been fighting for that position for years and would never passively accept his appointment. Therefore, the Sect Leader had decided to hold off on the announcement for a while, allowing Priam to grow stronger and familiarize himself with the inner sect before facing the open storms.
Upon learning this, Priam didn’t care in the slightest.
He would receive all the privileges and resources of the position even if the public still didn’t know about his official title. So... why should he swallow the insult and let idiots get in his way?
Since he was the Principal Disciple, he would act like one and do whatever he pleased. The upper echelons could deal with the consequences and clean up after him.
With the Elders’ arrival, the three Sages put away their weapons with impeccable discipline. The fourth one, who was injured, also got to his feet after swallowing some pills. They quickly moved behind Priam in a threatening manner.
The Elder landed and looked over the scene. He had already deduced most of what had happened, but the formalities of his position required him to ask. "What happened here?"
"Well..." Priam began to speak.
However, before he could, one of the four stepped forward, cutting Priam off with desperation and anger:
"Elder! This guy is ignorant, rude, and irrational! He disobeyed our direct patrol orders and disturbed the sacred flock of the Spiritual Guardian Pixies!"
Upon hearing that, the Elder’s face twisted into an ironically bitter smile.
As expected, those four idiots had absolutely no idea of the terrifying aberration standing before them. Even without knowing Priam’s secret title, anyone with half a brain who had followed the results of the Celestial Event would know that trying to act arrogantly in front of that young man was the direct equivalent of committing suicide.
The Sage continued spewing accusations, painting Priam as an unforgivable criminal whose sins demanded his immediate expulsion or summary execution on the spot.
The Elder merely let out a heavy snort, pretending to maintain official gravity. Of course, Priam had committed no crime whatsoever by peacefully interacting with the creatures.
As for the rest... as long as he didn’t violate the fundamental rules and had at least some reason behind his actions, the Principal Disciple had free rein to do exactly as he pleased.
So, as soon as the man finished his barrage of accusations, the Elder turned his gaze toward Priam.
Priam casually waved his hand. "Dandara, you explain it. It’s better that way... because if some idiot interrupts me while I’m talking, I might not be able to hold myself back and end up killing him on the spot."
Hearing the veiled threat, the four became even more furious. However, before they could protest, the Elder silenced them with a sharp, icy glare.
Dandara stepped forward and explained everything that had happened. When he heard that one of the Pixies had voluntarily approached Priam and asked him to play with her, the Elder froze in place, visibly shocked.
Those beasts were the sect’s greatest auspicious symbols. Even the Sect Leader himself was completely ignored by them... and a Pixie had wanted to play with him?
"This matter is extremely serious. I need to report it to the higher-ups immediately," the Elder said, trying to regain his composure. "However, Priam... you’ve only just set foot in the inner sect. In fact, you haven’t even completed your registration yet, and you’ve already started accumulating enemies. That’s not good for your development."
His words sounded like a formal reprimand, but the Elder’s eyes were silently begging: Please stop causing trouble!
Priam smiled inwardly, but kept his tone cold and detached as he replied:
"I train and study as hard as possible so I can live life to the fullest. Some random bastard tries to intimidate me, and I’m supposed to back down? Doing that would be the same as slapping myself in the face. If it weren’t for my good mood today—and the fact that this entire area is under surveillance—this world would have gained four new ghosts waiting in line for reincarnation."
To Priam, whenever extras showed their fangs at him, they were nothing but clowns. He didn’t have a shred of patience for this kind of provocation.
Dandara’s eyes shone with admiration. At the same time, nearly all the soldiers from his faction clenched their fists, overwhelmed by an indescribable wave of excitement.
The Elder sighed and slowly nodded. "I understand the situation. They indeed made a grave mistake, but your reaction was also a bit extreme. I don’t want to judge such a minor matter... so go introduce yourself!"
It was obvious to everyone that the Elder was deliberately sweeping the incident under the rug, sending Priam away as quickly as possible.
"Perfect. I hope I have a calm and peaceful stay..." Priam nodded with a faint smirk. "Or maybe the opposite would be fun too. Either way... it’s all the same to me. What matters is having fun."
Priam knew very well that in a place dominated by geniuses and brutally competitive, conflicts were inevitable. The more you tried to avoid trouble, the more it piled up.
That was why he had no intention of being courteous to anyone. He would invade the inner sect with the most imposing and domineering attitude possible. That was the fastest and most efficient way to establish himself there. He had no time to waste on bureaucracy.
As they watched Priam’s flying ship disappear into the distance, the four law disciples gritted their teeth in bewilderment.
"Elder, why are you being so biased in their favor?! You’re just going to let them get away with it that easily?!"
"Watch your words! What do you mean by biased?" the Elder roared, staring at the idiot with pure irritation. "Are you blind or stupid?! If we hadn’t arrived in time, you’d be lucky if you walked away from here alive! You don’t even know who he is, and you still have the nerve to cause trouble?!"
Another Elder from the group snorted disdainfully. "We just saved your lives, and we still have to listen to accusations of favoritism? We should’ve waited another ten minutes before intervening."
All the Elders were deeply disgusted by the arrogant attitude of those guards. According to the report, Priam had done absolutely nothing to provoke the creatures—the Pixie herself had approached him of her own free will.
And yet, these idiots wanted to punish and intimidate him? According to the sect’s unspoken rules, if Priam had killed them on the spot, nothing would have happened to him. It would have been treated as nothing more than an act of insubordination against a superior.
At that moment, the leader of the Elders looked at the four with a solemn gaze.
"Young men, I’ll give you some golden advice. Don’t devote your time solely to training and fighting. Strengthen your minds and perception as well. Anyone with even the slightest bit of ability would be able to sense that none of you would survive a single move from this Priam. Don’t be foolish enough to throw yourselves blindly against the tip of a spear. There are monsters in this world that you simply have no right to provoke."
The four froze, swallowing hard. They were at the absolute peak of the same Rank as Priam, several levels above him. How could they not even survive a single attack?!
The Elder shook his head, staring at the figure of Priam’s ship disappearing over the horizon.
"There’s far more in front of your eyes than your insignificant vision can see. The world is filled with hidden monsters and unpredictable variables. And now that a ruthless character like this has just set foot on this land... the inner sect is about to be turned upside down."
