That night, Ting Mo tossed and turned in bed.

Xiao Xiao asked her what was wrong.

"I feel so nervous," Ting Mo said. "I don’t know what happened, but I can’t sleep."

So that was it.

Xiao Xiao was getting sleepy too. She had been observing Ting Mo for a while, and the young girl’s reaction seemed perfectly normal. "You’re still young. You’ll understand later. Being a reporter means navigating through all kinds of storms."

"Does this happen to you often, Sister Xiao Xiao?"

"I wouldn’t say often," Xiao Xiao replied, recalling her past experiences. "But maybe once every year or two."

"Oh, I see."

Ting Mo pretended to chat a bit more before saying she needed to use the restroom. Xiao Xiao turned on the light for her. Ting Mo got up, rubbing her eyes as if still half-asleep, and walked to the bathroom. She went inside.

Her fingers flew across her device, bringing up a small screen on her terminal. She immediately found the private messaging channel with Jiang Qiuqiu, whom she had just added that afternoon, and sent out all the messages she had drafted earlier in bed.

Along with the sent messages came the FLUSH of the toilet.

On her quick way back to bed, Ting Mo thought, "This terminal is great and all, but when the virtual projection screen isn’t open, the display is just too small. You practically have to press your eyes against it just to find an ID."

Meanwhile.

Jiang Qiuqiu and Qian Xingxing were not asleep yet.

It was supposed to be a good time to rest and recharge, but right before eight o’clock, Little President Qian received a video call from Wanxing. She was currently stationed on the Federation Star, monitoring New Star alongside Meimei and a few shareholders. Why would she be calling at this hour?

A bit bewildered, Qian Xingxing answered the call.

The first thing she said was, "Get Juju. Let’s start a group video call."

"Huh?"

They started the group video call. Qiuqiu had been napping. Having just been woken up, she was a bit groggy.

"What’s wrong?" she asked.

"Something happened," Wanxing’s voice was serious. "Is Qiuqiu here?"

"Qiuqiu was sleeping. She just woke up. What is it?" Qian Xingxing replied.

"Let Qiuqiu wake up completely first."

Hearing that there was an urgent matter, Jiang Qiuqiu kept her eyes closed and rested for a brief moment. After drinking some water, she finally felt a bit more alert.

"We suspect that Juju is being targeted."

"Targeted?"

"You’re on the Q3 Star, so you probably haven’t been keeping a close eye on the Star Network." The internet changed in the blink of an eye. Since Juju wasn’t currently streaming, the PR department hadn’t been monitoring things around the clock either. Everyone had originally assumed that a charity clinic would be completely fine.

That was until this afternoon. After wrapping up a strategic planning meeting, Wanxing, maintaining her habit of surfing the web, decided to check out Juju’s fan circle and Q3’s columns to relax.

But as it turned out—

"Juju’s charity clinic sparked public speculation regarding the administrator of the Q3 Planet.

"There have also been discussions about taxes, the healthcare system, minimum labor standards, and a few other things.

"This afternoon, a hashtag criticizing the administrator’s incompetence surged onto today’s trending list. A lot of our fans even joined the discussion."

Wanxing recounted the ups and downs of the afternoon’s online storm. "We originally thought the heat would gradually die down once the administrator came forward to make a statement. After all, although the Star Network claims to be a platform for free speech, discussions about government administrators are naturally suppressed in popularity.

"However, by evening, when I went back online, I found that they hadn’t responded, but the hashtag had completely vanished.

"Then, inside the Q3 columns, several threads regarding Qiuqiu disappeared."

Of course, this wasn’t the main reason Wanxing had hurriedly initiated the group video call. The crux of the matter was something else entirely. "This hashtag was originally started by a netizen’s analytical post," she said.

"Originally, public attention had shifted from the post itself to the administrator’s incompetence. Today, once the criticisms against the administrator disappeared, the original post blew up again.

"But the direction of its popularity has changed. Many of the top comments underneath it have changed as well.

"The keywords have all shifted to derogatory terms like ’show-off,’ ’girlishness,’ and ’individual heroism.’ I suspect... our charity clinic might have unwittingly stepped on someone’s toes."

As soon as she finished speaking, Qiuqiu’s terminal began to BEEP.

A continuous stream of messages was coming through. After taking a single glance, Qiuqiu’s gaze sharpened, and she sat up a little straighter. She then forwarded the contents of the text messages into the group chat.

"What is this? Who sent these?!" Qian Xingxing asked.

"It’s the Federation News reporter who interviewed me this afternoon," Qiuqiu said in a low voice.
