Chapter 533 - 507: Tier Seven Equipment

Chapter 533: Chapter 507: Tier Seven Equipment

Lin Qi looked curiously at the two metal boxes. One looked like a storage case, the other like a long, rectangular box.

Lin Qi first placed his palm on the black box.

"BEEP!"

A red light scanned across it. Once the verification passed, it instantly turned green, and the box opened automatically.

Its contents were revealed: a suit of Black Gold Battle Armor that gleamed with a metallic luster.

The entire suit of armor was polished, each piece glinting with a cold light.

Golden lines were inlaid across its black surface, giving it an air of nobility.

Lin Qi took off his special black and gold long robe, revealing the form-fitting Tier Six Combat Suit underneath.

As he put on the Battle Armor, his entire frame appeared much more imposing.

The Battle Armor on his body felt like it weighed at least 1,000 kilograms. It hindered his movements slightly, but not by much.

It didn’t feel that heavy to wear. After all, Blue Star didn’t have triple gravity.

Upon seeing him, Dean Liu smiled and remarked with admiration:

"Not bad, very sharp!"

"Reminds me of myself in my younger days!"

"This suit of Black Gold Armor was tailor-made for you!"

"It’s made from an Epsilon alloy, giving it astonishing defensive power. It can effectively—"

His teacher, Mu Hong, also nodded in satisfaction.

"BEEP!"

Next, Lin Qi opened the other black box.

As the box opened, a Black Great Spear radiating a commanding presence appeared in his line of sight.

Bright golden patterns were carved along its shaft, and the sharp tip glinted with a deadly light.

Lin Qi slowly lifted the great spear out, feeling its weight.

Dean Liu began his explanation:

"This is a Tier Seven Long Spear, custom-made according to your height and your Awakened Special Ability."

"I know you’re incredibly strong, so I specifically had them increase the great spear’s weight to 1,500 kilograms!"

"In addition to being sharper, a Tier Seven Long Spear can also amplify Gang Power, increasing the might of your techniques!"

"The Long Spear is forged from over a dozen types of precious metals. Otherwise, it wouldn’t be worth 250 million Xia Country Coins!"

HUMMMMM!!

Lin Qi nodded and casually channeled his Power into the Long Spear.

The spear’s shaft trembled with a hum. He then circulated his Gang Power and infused it into the weapon.

Instantly, the special materials within the Long Spear activated, and his Gang Power surged as if it had taken a potent supplement.

It spread rapidly, blanketing the spear’s shaft and even extending beyond it.

Lin Qi’s eyes lit up. ’This effect is incredible!’

His Golden Emperor Spear Gang was already powerful enough, and now it had become even stronger.

"Take some time to get used to them."

A moment later, Dean Liu and his teacher, Mu Hong, departed.

Wearing his Black Gold Armor and carrying his luggage, Lin Qi went to the Martial Arts Room.

This Martial Arts Room was half the size of the one in his grand villa at Star Residence, at only two hundred square meters.

However, it was more than enough for his cultivation.

WHOOSH!! WHOOSH!!

SWISH!! SWISH!!

The spear tip cut through the air. He unleashed his Golden Spear Gang, which shot out and exploded against the alloy wall, kicking up fierce gusts of wind.

Lin Qi nodded. ’The power really has increased!’

He could feel that while the Battle Armor barely hindered his movements, its defensive capabilities had increased by several levels.

Against the impact from a Calamity Beast’s massive body, the Battle Armor would be enough to block the majority of the force.

His defenses were layered: he had the Battle Armor on the outside, the Combat Suit underneath it, and a Defense Vest as well.

On the surface, his Gang Power and his very skin could also nullify damage.

So, even if he were to take a direct hit, his powerful defenses meant he likely wouldn’t be seriously injured unless he was struck several times in a row.

Without the triple gravity, Lin Qi felt much lighter, and every step was as buoyant as if he were walking on springs.

After cultivating for two hours, he sat cross-legged on a soft mat in the Martial Arts Room, took out his phone, and opened the House of War app to order some food.

He entered the ordering module and selected "Nutritional Meals."

Nutritional meals of various levels instantly populated the screen before him: Levels 1 through 6.

’Just as I thought, no Level 7 nutritional meals,’

Lin Qi thought. But then, his gaze narrowed.

[Level 7 Disaster Beast Flesh and Blood]

[Level 8 Disaster Beast Flesh and Blood]

[Level 9 Disaster Beast Flesh and Blood]

Lin Qi’s eyes lit up. They were actually selling Level 7, Level 8, and even Level 9 Disaster Beast Flesh and Blood. He quickly tapped on the listings.

[Item: Level 7 Disaster Beast Flesh and Blood]

[Price: 1,000 kg / 10 Merit Points]

...

[Item: Level 8 Disaster Beast Flesh and Blood]

[Price: 1,000 kg / 1,000 Merit Points]

...

[Item: Level 9 Disaster Beast Flesh and Blood]

[Price: 1,000 kg / 10,000 Merit Points]

...

Merit Points?

Lin Qi was baffled. Logically, based on the exchange rate between Xia Country Coins and Merit Points...

This was absurdly cheap.

Then again, he recalled that the overall situation had been worsening recently, with High-Level Calamity Beasts emerging one after another.

The price of Disaster Beast Flesh and Blood had likely dropped as a result.

So, he attempted to purchase the Level 7 Disaster Beast Flesh and Blood.

[Mr. Lin Qi, your Merit Point balance is zero. As you are an SSS-level genius, you are eligible for our ’Enjoy Now, Pay Later’ service (monthly billing), with a credit limit of 1,000 Merit Points!]

Lin Qi nodded. He hadn’t expected a benefit like this.

’Enjoy Now, Pay Later’ was basically buying on credit, with repayment due in one month.

A credit line of 1,000 Merit Points was enough to buy exactly 1,000 kilograms of Level 8 Disaster Beast Flesh and Blood.

Lin Qi quickly placed the order and filled in his room number.

[BEEP!]

[You have purchased 1,000 kg of Level 8 Disaster Beast Flesh and Blood. The items will be delivered to your door within 30 minutes!]

Lin Qi read the notification and sighed in admiration. ’As expected of a War Base, delivery in 30 minutes.’

’Let’s see how to earn Merit Points!’

Lin Qi looked up the information on Merit Points, which was quickly projected in front of him.

[First-Level Calamity Beast: 0.01–0.05 Merit Points]

[Second-Level Calamity Beast: 0.05–0.1 Merit Points]

[Third-Level Calamity Beast: 0.1–0.5 Merit Points]

...

When Lin Qi saw the rewards for Low-Level Calamity Beasts, he was taken aback. Hunting a First-Level Calamity Beast only yielded 0.01 Merit Points. ’That’s pitifully low.’

When converted into its monetary equivalent, the amount was pathetic.

He read on and suddenly understood. This was the post-tax amount.

The taxes levied on Martial Artists were particularly steep. This revenue was used for things like weapon repairs and base maintenance.

Even many of the benefits at the Martial Arts Universities were funded by the country.

This was especially true for the three top universities.

’Just think about me,’ he mused. ’I’ve already received billions in subsidies for being a genius.’

That was all subsidized by the state.

In addition to the Martial Arts University subsidies, there were also various pensions for the families of the fallen, which also amounted to a huge sum of money.

Thinking about it that way, it all made sense. He continued reading, skipping directly to the section on High-Level Calamity Beasts.

[Seventh-Level Calamity Beast: 1,000–10,000 Merit Points]

[Eighth-Level Calamity Beast: 10,000–100,000 Merit Points]

[Ninth-Level Calamity Beast: 1,000,000+ Merit Points]

...

After reading through the list, Lin Qi noted that a Seventh-Level Calamity Beast started at 1,000 Merit Points. A Level 8 was ten times that, and a Level 9 was a staggering one hundred times the Level 8 reward.

Considering their massive sizes, however, it was understandable.

In the end, Lin Qi came to a single conclusion.

He had to kill High-Level Calamity Beasts. That was where the real Merit Points were.

It would be truly difficult for a Low-level Martial Artist to afford the flesh and blood of a Seventh-Level Calamity Beast.

Next, Lin Qi looked at the [Redeem] module.

There were many treasures here that weren’t available on the Red Dome House.

They were all on the House of War, and they had to be purchased with Merit Points.

’As for my Water of Life, I’ll still have to ask Dean Liu to help me get it,’ he thought.
