Chapter 116 — You Killed My Son!
When Vesey returned to the courtroom, she no longer had to sit in the chair in the middle.
This time, she could sit off to the side and wait until she was called to testify.
Today’s hearing concerned several vampire wizards.
Vesey had made them act somewhat frightened this time.
From time to time, they even begged the members of the Wizengamot.
"If we tell you more about Fudge, can we avoid going to Azkaban?"
Vesey deliberately looked puzzled, as though she couldn’t understand why they had suddenly become so well-behaved.
The wizard sitting beside her thoughtfully explained,
"Headmaster Dumbledore sent them to Azkaban yesterday to experience what it’s like."
Vesey smiled gratefully.
Of course, she already knew.
The moment she saw the vampire wizards today, she had learned what had happened.
She even knew that Snape had poisoned all of them.
Although they were still alive, within a month their bodies would gradually deteriorate before finally falling apart and dying.
Vesey felt rather regretful.
She had originally wanted to keep a few of them alive and control them indefinitely.
But now she could only give up.
It wasn’t that they couldn’t be saved.
It was just that using Energy Points to save a few pieces of trash made her uncomfortable even thinking about it.
Forget it.
She would have plenty of thugs in the future.
And these people weren’t dead yet.
So Vesey began controlling them to beg for mercy.
They even started speaking badly about their own families, claiming that as long as they could avoid Azkaban, they were willing to make amends for their mistakes.
Not only did this fail to earn them any leniency, it actually made their own families want them dead even faster.
Even the current patriarch of the O’Neill family couldn’t help raising his wand.
Clearly, if this weren’t a trial, he would have wanted to kill his foolish son on the spot.
Vesey watched the farce with a bored expression.
When it was finally her turn to testify, she didn’t add fuel to the fire.
Instead, she calmly described everything she had seen and heard.
"The harm they caused me isn’t worth mentioning. I don’t care about that.
"But they hurt so many other wizards, and they almost killed my classmates. They even turned one of the girls into a vampire.
"I never knew someone could be so vicious...
"Don’t they care about what will happen to that innocent girl now?
"She’s only a student who has just finished her first year."
At that point, Vesey lowered her head and pretended to sob.

Countless people looked at Vesey with pity.
Clearly, this child had suffered so much, yet the first thing she thought about was the victims who had nothing to do with her.
Even Millicent, who had tried to hand her over to the vampire wizards, was included among the people Vesey felt sympathy for.
Dumbledore sighed softly.
"Good girl. The rest isn’t your concern anymore. I believe these people will receive the punishment they deserve."
He turned toward the vampire wizards.
They looked genuinely frightened, hunching their shoulders and waiting for the verdict.
But Dumbledore didn’t pronounce the sentence immediately.
Instead, he looked at them and asked in a deep voice,
"There’s one question I’ve had from the beginning.
"Why did you want to capture Vesey?"
This was a question many people had.
They still didn’t understand what Vesey had done to make these vampire wizards specifically target her.
Some wizards even continued whispering maliciously about Vesey, believing she must have had some secret arrangement with them, which was why they wanted to capture her.
Of course, Vesey knew exactly what they were thinking.
She controlled one of the vampire wizards and made him speak in a low voice.
"It was because Vesey Potter will develop the Vampire Conversion Potion next year.
"It’s an incredibly powerful potion.
"After taking it, vampires will lose their bloodlust and regain the ability to enjoy ordinary food.
"And if a vampire takes it continuously for a year, they will truly become a wizard. Their magical ability and physical strength won’t decrease either.
"The Dark Lord told us about it.
"He... he forced us to do all of this.
"We shouldn’t have done it..."
The vampires began shifting all the blame onto the Dark Lord.
It was as though their desire to avoid Azkaban had overwhelmed their fear of him.
Vesey immediately put an expression of fear and regret on her face.
"Blame me..."

How could this possibly be her fault?
Countless people thought exactly the same thing.
Developing such a potion would undoubtedly make Vesey an extraordinary witch.
Of course, not everyone agreed.
Someone immediately questioned them.
"How do you know Miss Potter will develop such a potion in the future?
"Perhaps this is nothing more than something you imagined.
"Maybe you’re simply using the Dark Lord as an excuse to avoid responsibility.
"As everyone knows, the Dark Lord died eleven years ago!"
That was perfectly normal.
No one wanted to believe that Voldemort was still alive.
As far as they were concerned, Harry had defeated Voldemort once and for all.
Vesey knew exactly what they were thinking.
She controlled the vampire wizards and made them laugh.
"Of course the Dark Lord will return.
"Only fools would believe that he is truly dead.
"Everyone knows how terrifying he is!
"If you don’t believe us, we can use Veritaserum.
"We can even make an Unbreakable Vow.
"But if we agree to those conditions, you must release us without charge!"
Of course, that was impossible.
No one was going to agree to such a demand.
Whether they wanted to punish the vampires or simply didn’t want to hear anything about Voldemort’s return, they had no intention of pursuing the matter further.
Some began suggesting that these vampire wizards had probably been deceived by some fraudulent prophet.
Perhaps they had believed the ramblings of those madmen and then gone after Vesey, hoping to capture her and force her to create the Vampire Conversion Potion for them.
Only Dumbledore continued insisting that Voldemort would return.
If he failed this time, he would simply attack again in the future.
Vesey understood perfectly well why Dumbledore had asked that question.
He simply wanted to plant the idea that Voldemort would return.
Some people would believe it.
Some wouldn’t.
And some simply didn’t want to believe it.
What happened afterward would reveal the truth.
Finally, Dumbledore announced the sentence for the vampire wizards.
"A life sentence in Azkaban.
"And your wands will be broken."
It was worth noting that the reason they received such severe sentences was that they had harmed numerous wizards, transformed a girl into a vampire, and attempted to harm an elderly Muggle.
If they had only injured Vesey, they might have received a sentence of only a few years.
But Vesey didn’t particularly care.
After all, these pieces of trash wouldn’t live much longer anyway.
What she needed to do now was find someone she could take advantage of.
She had to use this opportunity to get to Nicolas Flamel’s manor.
And she was getting a little anxious.
Vesey quietly scanned the surrounding wizards, trying to find someone with malicious intentions toward her.
Unfortunately, no one seemed interested in harming her anymore.
This left her somewhat helpless.
It seemed she would have to control the vampire wizards and make them attack her herself.
Controlling them to speak wasn’t difficult.
Controlling them to physically collide with Vesey was another matter.
It wasn’t because she lacked Energy Points.
It was because Snape had already broken their hands and legs.
Getting them to charge toward her would be difficult.
Vesey scratched her head.
It seemed she would have to make them pretend...
Just as she was thinking about how to do it, someone suddenly kicked open the courtroom door and rushed toward Vesey with his wand raised.
"You little bitch! You killed my son!"
Vesey’s eyes immediately lit up.
Hadn’t the opportunity just presented itself?
