Chapter 136 — Nightmare Colin
No matter how much Vesey complained internally, Lockhart’s words still made all the students wary.
Neville, who was sitting in the front row, turned pale and covered his mouth.
Seamus, who had just been secretly laughing at Lockhart for being such a narcissist, also leaned back cautiously.
Lockhart was very pleased with the atmosphere.
"Remember, don’t scream. You’ll only irritate them!"
He dramatically removed the black cloth covering the cage.
"Cornish Pixies!"
he announced.
Seamus immediately burst out laughing.
Someone else screamed, but it was obviously not a scream of fear. It sounded more like a heckler shouting from the audience.
Only Vesey drew her wand.
She was worried that she might accidentally be grabbed by one of the pixies and carried into the air. That would definitely damage her image.
Lockhart was extremely pleased with Vesey’s reaction.
He even pointed her out as an example for everyone to follow.
This made the entire class laugh even harder.
Who didn’t know that Vesey took every class seriously?
She wasn’t afraid.
She was simply obedient!
Their laughter clearly irritated Lockhart.
He angrily opened the cage.
"It’s time for you to meet these evil creatures!"
Chaos erupted instantly.
The pixies shot out like arrows and immediately began snatching the students’ books and tearing them apart.
They grabbed Neville by the ears and lifted him into the air.
Even more frighteningly, they seized the students’ bottles of ink and threw them everywhere, splattering everyone.
Their rampage was more destructive than a rhinoceros.
From a certain perspective, Vesey had to admit that these pixies really were much more frightening than ordinary animals.
Within seconds, many students were hiding under their desks, while several others had been lifted into the air.
"Come on, don’t be afraid. Let’s deal with them together..."
Lockhart said with a confident smile.
He waved his wand as though he intended to impress all the students.
But it was completely useless.
Several pixies snatched his wand away and threw it out of the window.
Lockhart froze.
Then he immediately crawled underneath a desk.
It was ridiculously embarrassing.
Vesey watched Lockhart’s performance for a while before finally raising her wand toward the pixies.
"Incarcerous!"
"Incarcerous!"
she shouted loudly.
The spell immediately bound the pixies one after another. Vesey then gathered them up and put them back into the cage.
The bell rang, signaling the end of the class.
Vesey had also finished putting all the pixies back into the cage.
Lockhart cautiously crawled out from underneath the desk.
When he saw that everything had been cleaned up, his confidence immediately returned.
He said:
"See? It’s not difficult at all. Vesey handled it so easily. Everyone should learn from her. Ten points to Slytherin!"
After saying this, he hurried out of the classroom, not even bothering to take the cage Vesey had placed on the desk.
"Has he really fought off evil creatures?"
Hermione stared at Lockhart’s retreating back in disbelief.
Ron burst out laughing.
"He can’t actually be a fraud, can he?"
Only Vesey said tentatively beside them:
"Maybe this was Professor Lockhart’s practical lesson for us. It was actually quite good. I think these pixies are indeed a good subject, although they are a little dangerous. But Professor Lockhart has only just arrived, so perhaps he didn’t know that."

Harry and the others looked at the innocent Vesey and sighed helplessly.
Silly sister, when will you finally figure it out?
Over the next few days, Harry and the others hid whenever they saw Lockhart and tried their best not to run into him.
They thought Lockhart was far too annoying, while Vesey was far too innocent. If they spent too much time around Lockhart, they were afraid Vesey would be deceived by him.
Fortunately, avoiding Lockhart was easy.
With his flamboyant personality and his habit of showing off wherever he went, they could almost turn around and run the moment they spotted him in the same corridor.
This made them very happy.
But there was another thing that made them unhappy.
Colin Creevey.
He had practically memorized Harry and Vesey’s class schedules. He was always following them around and constantly asking them to say good morning, good afternoon, and good evening to him.
Vesey was speechless.
Fortunately, she had Energy Points that could always make Colin overlook her, so he would only pay attention to Harry.
This made Harry even more desperate.
After finally making it to the weekend, they planned to spend a wonderful Sunday at Hagrid’s place.
Unfortunately, Wood found Harry first.
"Quidditch practice? School has only just started!"
Harry complained helplessly.
He had also wanted to spend some time with Vesey. She didn’t have any friends in Slytherin besides them.
If they didn’t take Vesey with them, she would definitely feel uncomfortable.
But in the end, he still had to go to Quidditch practice.
Wood had mentioned the final Quidditch match of the previous term.
Harry had still been unconscious in the hospital wing at the time, and Gryffindor had suffered a complete defeat.
Harry had always felt guilty about it.
Now it was time for him to make up for it.
So, at five o’clock on Sunday morning, Wood dragged him out of bed.
Harry left a note for Ron and went to the Quidditch pitch with Wood and the others for training.
On the way, he ran into Colin.
It was a nightmare.
Seeing Colin so early in the morning put Harry in a bad mood for the entire day.
Five o’clock!
Wood had made him get up at five in the morning for training. At that hour, Harry barely felt human anymore.
Yet there was actually another person willing to get up at five in the morning just to ask for autographs and photographs.
If Lockhart found out about this, there would definitely be another misunderstanding.
Harry tried his best not to talk to Colin along the way, but Colin kept asking questions about him and Vesey.
Harry really wanted to say:
If you want to know about Vesey, why don’t you just ask her?
Every time Colin saw Vesey, however, he deliberately pretended not to notice her.
Sometimes, even when Vesey greeted him, he wouldn’t respond, which made Vesey a little sad.
Harry had previously ignored it because he simply didn’t want Colin disturbing Vesey.
But now, when he heard the questions Colin was asking about Vesey, he became angry.
"Can’t you find somewhere quieter..."
Colin immediately became excited.
"Are you inviting me to watch you train?"
Harry was about to say, Who wants to show you?
But before he could, Colin had already run off.
Harry stared at the shameless Colin and sighed.
There was no way he could do what Colin had just assumed he would do, so he could only follow Wood and the others into the locker room.
During the summer vacation, Wood had come up with many new tactics. He was now analyzing them one by one for Harry and the others.
Harry gradually became sleepy listening to him.
Fred was already lying on Angelina’s shoulder, snoring.
No one knew how long it had been.
Suddenly, Wood knocked on the blackboard.
"Do you have any more questions?"
Of course there were questions.
"Why don’t you tell us all this while we’re still awake?"
Fred complained helplessly.
"Last year, for various reasons, we weren’t able to win the Cup..."
Harry shifted uncomfortably.
He knew that one of those reasons was him.
Wood didn’t mention Harry’s name, however. Instead, he encouraged everyone.
"This year, we must win the Cup. We have Harry, after all. We’re obviously the strongest team!"
