Chapter Seventeen: I’ll Shut You Up!

At the same time.

Granger Dental Clinic.

Hermione wiped her eyes.

She had never expected that she would actually cry after reading a diary entry.

I really want to meet this Vesey!

During this period, she had also received her Hogwarts acceptance letter, and she had begun to place a great deal of trust in the diary.

Even the magical world knew about this diary. Perhaps what was written in it really was the future.

Vesey...

Her lover?

Hermione hesitated.

It took her a while to realize that whether she would be with Vesey or not was a matter for the future. It was better to focus on reading the diary now.

"Getting back to the subject, I almost cried while writing this. I think I’m getting old. I can even become sentimental just from writing about things like this."

"Vesey has been gone from us for a long time. So long that I’ve almost forgotten her painful green eyes and that face which amazed me throughout my youth."

"I even forgot that I also love..."

The word "love" was quickly scribbled out.

"Enough about that. I remember that the students of Hogwarts should be returning to school tomorrow."

"Hermione told me back then that she was a little regretful that she hadn’t been able to find Vesey during her first trip into the wizarding world."

"But she also told me that she had been sitting in the last carriage and found Harry Potter and his good friend Ronald Weasley. They were sitting in a compartment, eating and drinking!"

"When Vesey heard what Hermione said, she smiled and told me that Hermione had actually been looking for Professor Longbottom’s toad at the time."

"Oh my God, that disgusting creature can actually be kept as a pet. I think Vesey may have remembered it incorrectly because she was seriously ill."

"But I confirmed Vesey’s memory with Professor Longbottom today. He told me it was correct. His toad really did disappear on the way there that day. It wasn’t until they reached the Hogwarts boats that Hagrid found it."

"I hate toads so much!"

"Why would anyone like a creature like a toad?"

"Professor Longbottom said he still had the toad, Laifu, and wanted to show it to me. I refused with a scream."

"I think I would have nightmares if I saw it!"

Hermione laughed when she reached the last few lines of the diary.

In fact, the toads in the wizarding world weren’t scary at all. They were actually quite cute!

They were practically like chibi cartoon characters, though their skin felt cold in your hand. When Hermione had gone to the pet shop to look at them, there had been several witches buying them as pets!

This Muggle sister definitely didn’t know that. If she did, she would surely like this creature.

After laughing at the last few lines for a while, Hermione looked back at the middle of the diary.

It said that she had regretted not meeting Vesey on her first train ride.

If this was something she would regret in the future, should she look for Vesey on the train this time?

She became a little embarrassed again.

I’m worried that if I find Vesey, I’ll have to stay with her.

But that would be her future regret!

Besides, Vesey seemed so warm-hearted and lovable!

Hermione finally made up her mind.

Whether she wanted to be with Vesey in the future or not was a matter for the future.

For now, she decided that if Vesey was cute, liked her very much, and, most importantly, loved reading, then she would become good friends with Vesey!

...

At the same time.

Dumbledore’s Office.

Dumbledore nodded in agreement with everyone’s suggestions.

"Let’s do that, then. All right, everyone can go back. By the way, Poppy, go and check on Vesey. Is she awake?"

Madam Pomfrey nodded.

She was about to leave with the other professors when she suddenly remembered something and stopped.

"All right. But, Albus, you should give Severus a talking-to. He put far too much Draught of Living Death into the nutritional potion. Vesey still hasn’t woken up, and she’ll probably miss the start of term!"

Dumbledore gave Snape a helpless look.

There was nothing he could do about Snape anymore.

Especially when it came to Vesey.

Moreover, Snape had already explained to him that the potion he had prepared would make Vesey fall asleep so that her body could absorb the nutrients properly. By the time she woke up, she should be much healthier and closer to her peers.

Using food to replenish her nutrition was indeed not as easy or effective as Snape’s current method.

Wait.

Dumbledore suddenly looked at Snape.

He remembered what the diary had said.

Hermione had regretted not finding Vesey on the train.

Could it be because Vesey had been asleep at the time?

At this moment, Snape looked extremely guilty.

But at the same time, he felt completely justified.

After all, if Vesey had really suffered everything described in the diary, Snape would probably have kept her asleep even longer than he had now.

After all, there was no pain while she was asleep.

And the previous diary entry had said that Vesey was already on the verge of death when the Ministry of Magic rescued her.

How could Snape possibly let her take the train to Hogwarts in that condition?

"Poppy, if Vesey hasn’t woken up by tomorrow morning, wake the child."

Snape wanted to argue.

But Dumbledore shook his head, refusing to discuss the matter with him now.

Snape could only close his mouth and watch as Madam Pomfrey walked out of the principal’s office.

After Madam Pomfrey left, Snape closed the office door and looked at Dumbledore with a frown.

"Dumbledore, why did you insist on waking Vesey up? Just because of that girl named Granger?"

Dumbledore laughed.

"Isn’t that only natural? Severus, I think you’ve forgotten that if what that thing said is true, Granger is Vesey’s wife. As a wife, what’s wrong with wanting to come to Hogwarts with her lover?"

Snape was extremely displeased.

"That’s only because Vesey chose a girl after suffering all that abuse! I don’t think she would choose this girl now!"

Dumbledore sighed softly.

"Severus, can you really not see it? Vesey really hasn’t been affected by those people at all before..."

"Shut up! Shut up!"

Snape stood up angrily.

Dumbledore continued speaking.

"...Although those people didn’t actually do those things to her, some of the advantages they had with her were enough to make them happy..."

"I told you to shut up!"

Snape pointed his wand at Dumbledore, looking completely furious.

"Shut up!"
