Quirrell didn’t know why, but he still echoed Voldemort.
"She is certainly blessed to have caught the Master’s attention..."
"Shut up! She’s just a Mudblood child. The Dark Lord would never favor such lowly blood!"
Voldemort said angrily.
Quirrell immediately shut his mouth.
Voldemort’s eyes flashed with disgust.
His biological father had actually been a Muggle.
Just thinking about it disgusted him.
And that woman... Why had she been so cowardly?
If that woman hadn’t died, how could he have ended up like this?
"Wait! The Dark Lord will stand proudly before everyone!"
"That girl..."
Quirrell quietly mentioned Vesey.
An idea suddenly occurred to Voldemort. Just as he was about to say it aloud, a new page of the diary suddenly opened.
It was obviously a new entry, because black words began appearing on the page at astonishing speed.

"I received a copy of the Daily Prophet from Peter today. His parents apparently ordered it for me. They seemed to notice that I was interested in the wizarding world.
"I’m really grateful to them. After Vesey passed away, I rarely saw the Daily Prophet anymore. I’m only a Muggle, so there was no way for me to order one myself.
"Today’s special edition of the Daily Prophet made me want to write another diary entry.
"It contained an exclusive interview with Harry Potter, the head of the Ministry of Magic’s Department of Magical Law Enforcement. He talked about some things from Vesey’s past, and I was very interested in them.
"He mentioned his and Vesey’s first year at Hogwarts. He also said that before Halloween, they had been having trouble with Hermione Granger. They thought she was a rather stingy and difficult girl.
"But on Halloween that year, they and Hermione officially became good friends.
"Hermione not only changed her previous aloof and aggressive personality, but also became much cuter. She immediately became Vesey’s favorite friend.
"Harry didn’t explain exactly what happened because this was only an exclusive interview. To him, perhaps it was nothing more than a small episode in his life.
"But to me, a Muggle, it seemed like a part of my entire life.
"Harry also mentioned that Snape had been very angry with him because of this incident. He said that at the time, he had always thought Snape was simply going through some kind of midlife crisis, but later discovered that wasn’t the reason at all.
"The newspaper asked him what the real reason was. Harry merely winked and said that everyone already knew.
"The reporters laughed.
"I think the reason might be interesting, but I’m not particularly interested in finding out. What I’m really looking for is any description of Vesey in this interview.
"Finally, I found it.
"At the end of the interview, the reporter asked Harry what he thought about his experiences in the past.
"Harry hesitated for a while before finally cursing Dumbledore.
"He bluntly stated that Dumbledore was responsible for Vesey’s death, and that he had hated Dumbledore for the rest of his life.
"He said that during the final battle, he had already been prepared to die.
"He had even secretly given Vesey something that would make her sleep peacefully, hoping that she would wake up after everything was over.
"But Vesey had never actually taken it.
"She had always been on guard against Harry drugging her or casting a spell on her. She had merely pretended to be unconscious.
"After Harry left, she went to the battlefield herself, looking for an opportunity to block the Killing Curse for Harry.
"And all of this had been instructed by Dumbledore’s portrait.
"Dumbledore’s portrait was worried that Harry would really die, so he told Vesey to block the curse. He claimed that only Vesey could truly turn the tide of the war.
"And sure enough, his plan succeeded.
"Vesey was struck by the mysterious man’s Killing Curse.
"The mysterious man seemed stunned when he realized that the person standing before him was Vesey.
"Harry then took the opportunity to launch a sneak attack.
"During the interview, Harry was very dissatisfied with the final battle. He believed that he would never have been able to kill Voldemort if the man hadn’t been stunned for some reason.
"But it was strange.
"The mysterious man had been stunned because Vesey had been struck by the Killing Curse.
"Even Harry himself didn’t understand why.
"But Harry said that Vesey had been dead for many years now. He didn’t want to talk about it anymore, because he didn’t want to tear open those old wounds again.
"The Daily Prophet reporter also stated that after the war, Professor McGonagall, who had by then become Headmistress McGonagall, seemed to have invited Harry to teach at Hogwarts.
"But Harry refused.
"It seemed the reason was that he didn’t want to see Dumbledore.
"Not even Dumbledore’s portrait.
"Wizarding portraits... I know that wizards can create portraits that move, speak, and retain memories from the person’s lifetime.
"I heard this from Vesey.
"When she was alive, Hermione and the others had also made portraits of her.
"But for some reason, Vesey went to Hogwarts during the final days of her life, and when she returned, she destroyed all of those portraits.
"After that, she was unconscious for a long time.
"When she woke up, she resisted everyone’s attempts to approach me. Her eyes were completely lifeless.
"At the time, I was only sad that her condition had deteriorated.
"But now I’ve suddenly had a bold thought.
"Did she go to see Dumbledore?
"Did Dumbledore tell her something that completely destroyed her?
"My heart suddenly filled with resentment.
"What grudge does this Dumbledore have against Vesey?
"He killed Vesey.
"No, that’s not quite right.
"He made Vesey’s death anything but peaceful.
"He even caused Vesey to leave this world without a single portrait remaining!
"I hate this man!!!"
The three exclamation marks represented just how deeply the diary’s owner hated Dumbledore.
This made Voldemort feel considerably better.
But then doubt crept into his mind.
He read the description several times.
He was now certain that his death in the final battle had not been inevitable.
It had been part of Dumbledore’s plan.
Even after his death, that old man had continued scheming against him.
Dumbledore had deliberately allowed the youngest daughter of the Potter family to block the Killing Curse.
That was undoubtedly another trick.
There must have been some reason why Voldemort had been stunned when he saw that girl under the Killing Curse.
But what was it?
Could that girl possess some means of immortality?
But even if she did, why would that have caused him to lose consciousness at the time?
Voldemort frowned deeply.
No matter what the answer was, until he figured it out, he couldn’t do anything to the girl for the time being.
In fact, after discovering the true cause of his death, Voldemort no longer felt the same urge to harm Vesey.
If Dumbledore wanted to kill this girl, then Voldemort would simply let her live.
There was no particular reason.
After all, the protagonist was supposed to be a rebel.
