Chapter 80 — Why Is Chapter 80 Involving Personal Attacks?
Dumbledore convinced Harry not to look for the Mirror of Erised again, and sure enough, the mirror was moved the next day.
Harry placed the Invisibility Cloak at the bottom of his wardrobe and tried his best not to think about his parents.
But then he started having nightmares.
Every night, he dreamed of that terrifying green light, his mother’s screams, and that horrible laughter.
"You see? Dumbledore was right. That mirror really is an evil door."
When Harry told Vesey and Ron about the nightmares, Ron immediately got to the point.
Vesey comforted him for a while and even took him to the hospital wing to let Madam Pomfrey examine him.
Harry quickly refused.
He didn’t want anyone to know that he had gone to the hospital wing just because he needed comforting over nightmares.
Hermione returned the day before classes resumed.
She was furious with Harry and Ron.
The dark circles beneath Vesey’s eyes made her especially distressed.
"Didn’t I tell you to rest? You must have been staying up every night!"
Hermione scolded worriedly.
Vesey looked at her guiltily.
"Well... I did sleep..."
She had slept, technically.
But sometimes she became so absorbed in a novel that she stayed awake for most of the night.
And really, could she be blamed?
The history and stories of the wizarding world were just too fascinating!
Hermione looked at her helplessly.
"Sleep? I think you should go to the hospital wing and let Madam Pomfrey examine you properly. You should ask her to give you some medicine!"
Vesey quickly shook her head.
She hugged Hermione.
"Okay, Hermione, don’t worry! I’ll sleep properly tonight. I won’t stay up all night again!"
Hermione looked at her suspiciously.
"Really? Then take out all the books you borrowed from the library and bring them here!"
Fine. Take them out, then.
Vesey wasn’t going to read them right now anyway.
Returning them would also free up some space in her storage.
But when she went to move the books, she felt a little guilty.
During the holidays, she had remembered to borrow books.
She had simply forgotten to return them.
There were hundreds of books stored away.
It was actually strange that Hogwarts didn’t place a strict limit on how many books a student could borrow.
Otherwise, how could she possibly have accumulated so many?
Hermione and Harry came over to help move the books.
The moment they saw the mountain of books Vesey had brought out of her dormitory, their expressions became darker and darker.
Harry and Ron were especially guilty.
Hermione had specifically told them to remind Vesey to get enough rest.
Instead, they had ignored the fact that Vesey stayed up late every night reading all these books.
Thinking about how much work Vesey had put in, they couldn’t even bring themselves to lecture her.
Vesey didn’t notice.
As she moved the books, she deliberately put on a helpless expression.
"Even after reading so many books, I still haven’t found Nicolas Flamel. I don’t know when we’ll finally find him."
She was carefully maintaining her persona.
But the very next moment, Hermione suddenly hugged her.
"Silly!"
Hermione couldn’t help saying.
Vesey’s eyes widened.
Who’s silly?
Why is that a personal attack?
And Hermione wasn’t the only one who was angry.
Harry and Ron were also furious.
If Vesey weren’t so adorable, they would really have wanted to give this silly girl a good scolding.
Finding Nicolas Flamel was important.
But did she really have to work herself to exhaustion over it?
Only then did Vesey understand what was going on.
She immediately lowered her head with a guilty expression.
"I’m sorry. I just wanted to find him quickly so everyone wouldn’t have to keep working so hard. And I wanted to help protect Hogwarts’ property. I thought I could..."
Hermione and the others fell silent.
Looking at Vesey’s expression, who could bring themselves to scold such a sensible and obedient child?
Because of Vesey’s "efforts," they almost gave up searching for Nicolas Flamel in the library after classes resumed.
After all, Vesey had already read so many books and hadn’t found anything.
There was nothing else they could do.
Perhaps Nicolas Flamel was simply an obscure scholar whose name wasn’t recorded in the books they had access to.

Harry soon became busy again.
Despite the gloomy, snowy weather, Wood had apparently gone completely mad and insisted that the Quidditch team continue training.
Fred and George joked that Wood had become a training fanatic, but everyone still showed up on time.
They all believed that if Gryffindor defeated Hufflepuff in the upcoming match, they would have a chance to defeat Slytherin and win the House Cup.
It was the closest Gryffindor had come to victory in seven years.
But one day, Harry returned to the Gryffindor common room with a heavy expression and found Vesey and the others.
Vesey had become a frequent visitor to Gryffindor Tower.
At this point, even the Gryffindors no longer found it strange to see her there.
Her beautiful appearance had made her one of Gryffindor’s most popular students almost immediately after she began spending time there.
Because of that, Vesey and the others usually had to sit in a corner to avoid being constantly interrupted.
Harry brought them some bad news.
Wood had told him that Snape would be the referee for their next match.
The news nearly made all the Gryffindor players explode.
Nobody thought they had any chance of winning if Snape was the referee.
Ron and Hermione were stunned.
"Just say you’re sick!"
Hermione immediately suggested.
"Say you’ve broken your leg!"
Ron added.
"Actually break your leg!"
Hermione stood up.
"I’ll help you!"
The two of them didn’t lower their voices at all.
As Snape’s devoted little fan, Vesey obviously couldn’t simply ignore what they were saying.
She immediately said,
"Don’t be like that! I know Professor Snape is a little biased..."
Hermione and the others stared at her in shock.
It was as though Vesey had just said something unbelievable.
"Vesey, you can actually tell that he’s biased?"
"It’s amazing! Our Vesey can actually see it!"
They were genuinely astonished.
Vesey felt as though they were making fun of her, even though neither of them actually meant it that way.
After all, until now, Vesey had insisted that Snape was a wonderful person and that there was absolutely nothing wrong with him.
Of course, Harry and the others understood that Vesey tended to see the good in everyone.
She remembered people’s kindness toward her and often ignored their flaws.
So for Vesey to actually admit that Snape was biased was genuinely surprising.
Vesey looked embarrassed.
"You’ve always said that Professor Snape is biased. I didn’t think so at first, but later I asked students from the other Houses what they thought of him.
"Everyone said he was biased.
"So I paid closer attention to Professor Snape and realized that... perhaps I really was wrong before."
She lowered her head guiltily.
She looked so pitiful that even Harry and the others, despite being worried about Snape taking revenge on them, couldn’t help wanting to hug her.
"It has nothing to do with you. That’s just his preference. You simply didn’t notice it before!"
Harry comforted her.
Vesey gave him a small smile.
But she still insisted,
"Anyway, I think that even if Professor Snape is biased, he’s still a good person. He won’t actually do anything bad. I’ll talk to him about it too—"
Before she could finish, Harry and Ron stopped her at the same time.
"No!"
"Don’t!"
Harry would rather have Snape curse his broom again than let Vesey confront him about this.
What if Snape really became angry with Vesey?
What would he do to her afterward?
After all, Vesey was still in Snape’s own House.
