Chapter 81: Chapter 81 — Philosopher’s Stone!"

Chapter 81 — Philosopher’s Stone!"

Harry and Ron came up with all sorts of reasons to stop Vesey from going to see Snape. In the end, Harry even said that his relationship with Snape wasn’t that bad.

Those words disgusted him so much.

But when he saw Vesey’s smiling face again, he couldn’t help feeling happy.

Just as Harry was comforting himself, the door to the Gryffindor common room opened.

Neville came bounding in, and everyone burst out laughing.

Because Neville looked like a rabbit right now.

He kept hopping and hopping.

Vesey didn’t laugh. She knew Neville had been hit with a spell. She walked over and removed the Leg-Locker Curse from him.

Neville trembled all over and collapsed to the floor as soon as the spell was lifted.

Vesey helped him up and brought him over to where she had been sitting.

"What happened?"

Hermione asked worriedly.

Neville immediately burst into tears.

"Malfoy."

Everyone sighed.

They all knew Malfoy liked picking on Harry and bullying Neville.

"He was outside the auditorium and said he needed someone to practice the Leg-Locker Curse on..."

Hermione was shaking with rage.

"Go to Professor McGonagall! You can’t let him keep bullying you!"

Neville rubbed his eyes.

"I don’t want to get into any more trouble."

It was obvious that if he complained, Malfoy would only bully him even more.

"I’ll go talk to him. If he keeps doing that, I’ll... I’ll beat him up!"

Vesey raised her tiny fist and waved it.

Unfortunately, it didn’t look intimidating at all. It was simply cute.

Even Neville laughed.

"Okay, Vesey. Please stop standing up for me. Even if you beat Malfoy, he won’t listen. Next time..."

He didn’t finish.

Ron angrily interrupted him.

"You should stand up for yourself! We’ll help you!"

Neville shook his head.

"You don’t have to tell me that I don’t seem like a Gryffindor anymore. Malfoy already said that."

He sniffled.

Vesey was about to say something when she saw Harry take a Chocolate Frog out of his pocket.

Her eyes immediately locked onto it.

Was this Dumbledore’s card?

"Have some chocolate! None of us are going to say that you don’t deserve to be in Gryffindor. Think about it—even Vesey likes you very much. What about Malfoy?

"Vesey hates him. She frowns every time she sees him. So you’re better than twelve Malfoys put together. You’re a Gryffindor!"

Harry said this comfortingly.

Seeing Vesey staring eagerly at the chocolate, he amusingly pulled another Chocolate Frog from his pocket and handed it to her.

"Hungry?"

he asked.

Vesey really was hungry.

She rubbed her belly, opened the Chocolate Frog, and then froze when she saw the card inside.

Dumbledore?

Then what did Neville have?

She looked at Neville.

Neville also opened his Chocolate Frog. He ate the chocolate, then looked at the card.

"Amelia... does anyone want this?"

Nobody wanted it.

He tossed the card aside.

He rubbed his eyes and smiled.

"Okay, thank you. I’m going back."

After Neville left, Vesey remained frozen, as though she still hadn’t come to her senses.

Of course, Hermione and the others noticed that something was wrong with her.

"What’s wrong?"

"Vesey, are you sick?"

they asked worriedly.

Vesey quickly shook her head.

Then she whispered in surprise,

"I found Nicolas Flamel!"

She placed the card on the table.

Hermione gasped as she read the description.

"Dumbledore’s well-known contributions include defeating the Dark wizard Grindelwald in 1945, discovering the twelve uses of dragon’s blood, and working with his partner Nicolas Flamel in alchemy!"

Then she suddenly jumped to her feet.

"I see!"

She rushed back to the dormitory. After a while, she returned carrying an extremely heavy book.

She carefully turned to one of the pages.

"Look here! Nicolas Flamel is the only known maker of the Philosopher’s Stone!"

Her words did not have the effect she expected.

Vesey was staring thoughtfully at the line in the book, while Harry and Ron simply looked at her blankly.

"What is the Philosopher’s Stone?"

"What is it used for?"

the two asked curiously.

Hermione was about to explain when she heard Vesey say,

"The Philosopher’s Stone is one of the greatest achievements of alchemy. It can make you immortal, and it also has the ability to turn stone into gold."

She had been thinking just now: if she made Nicolas Flamel a Diary holder, would she also be able to learn alchemy and obtain a Philosopher’s Stone?

Although she could use Energy to exchange for a Philosopher’s Stone, she had just checked the price.

It was astronomical.

At least for her current amount of Energy.

...Please give me flowers...

In the future, once she learned how to make one, even if she didn’t use it herself, she could sell it to someone else!

Nicolas Flamel probably didn’t care much about wealth anymore, but Vesey certainly did.

The only thing that worried her was whether she could gain Nicolas Flamel’s trust.

But when she thought about it carefully, Nicolas Flamel had already contributed the Philosopher’s Stone, and the original story also hinted that he wanted to die together with his wife.

Although it never clearly stated whether he actually died in the end, Vesey believed that convincing such an old man to trust her shouldn’t be too difficult, right?

Besides, she could use Energy to investigate some information about Nicolas Flamel, which would definitely increase her credibility.

Her eyes gradually brightened.

That’s right.

She would do it!

System, I want the Philosopher’s Stone!

After Vesey finished communicating with the system and confirmed that the next Diary holder would be Nicolas Flamel, she looked at Hermione and the others.

They had already begun discussing whether the trapdoor beneath Fluffy was hiding the Philosopher’s Stone.

"Don’t even talk about Snape. Even I want to steal it!"

Ron wiped away tears of envy.

He had the Midas touch, but he was simply too short of money.

Vesey quickly said, "The professor definitely doesn’t need the Philosopher’s Stone. He’s not short of money, and he doesn’t care about wealth. And I think the professor is very lonely. He definitely doesn’t yearn for immortality."

After saying this, she hesitated before asking,

"Ron, are you short of money? Don’t steal the Philosopher’s Stone. You’ll get caught. I still have some gold Galleons. If you need them, I can ask an owl to go to Gringotts and withdraw them..."

Ron quickly waved his hand.

"Don’t be like this, Vesey. I can’t take your money, and I’m not really short of money. After all, I have enough to eat and drink. It’s just that I always have to use old things..."

He paused before continuing.

"But if I used your money, even my mum would beat me to death!"

Mrs. Weasley had never taught him to ask his classmates for money.

Even though the Weasleys were already so short of money that they had to make do with old things, they had never thought of asking any of their classmates for money.

Their friend Lee Jordan was obviously quite well-off, but they would rather make their own joke products than ask Lee for some money.

"And Vesey, you’re too cute, aren’t you? I was just making a hypothetical statement, and you actually took it seriously."

Ron said helplessly, "But let’s not talk about that for now. I think Vesey is more lovable than Ginny. If my mum had ever met Vesey, she would definitely hold her in her arms!"
