Chapter Nine: Living at Hogwarts
I don’t know whether this was Dumbledore’s doing, but the people actually listed all the things the matron had done at the orphanage.
This included, but was not limited to, human trafficking, drug trafficking, money laundering, prostitution, and various other crimes.
Even an adult would shudder after hearing about them, let alone Vesey.
She clenched her fists.
"This is too much. I really want to... punch her!"
She thought about it for a long time before pretending to be angry.
Snape was still furious, but when he saw her expression, his anger suddenly faded.
"Don’t worry about them. They’ve been taken away by the Muggle authorities, and those children will definitely be rescued. If you’re worried, you can come back and take a look later."
He was already thinking about using some magic when the time came.
For example, he could modify the memories of those people and make them forget what had happened.
As a master of memory-related magic, he could do that.
At that moment, Dumbledore returned as well.
He smiled and said, "They didn’t see me. I took the opportunity to cast a Memory Charm on them. They won’t remember Vesey."
Then he looked at Vesey again.
"I’m sorry, child. I did this without your permission, but I thought that if they learned of your existence, they might cause you a great deal of trouble."
Vesey nodded in understanding.
Of course, she still maintained a slightly bewildered expression.
Snape and Dumbledore didn’t force her to understand.
"Let’s go. I’ll have someone deal with everything here."
Dumbledore gave Snape a warning look.
He did not approve of killing.
Muggles had their own laws.
Snape said nothing, pretending not to notice.
He placed a hand on Vesey’s shoulder, and the two disappeared instantly.
Dumbledore sighed.
The smile on his face gradually disappeared.
Was the appearance of this child a good thing or a bad thing?
He shook his head, waved his wand, and disappeared as well.
Vesey had expected Snape to take her to Spinner’s End, but strangely enough, he took her directly to the gates of Hogwarts Castle.
She initially thought this was entirely Snape’s decision, but Dumbledore followed closely behind.
"Child, when you have nowhere else to go, you can stay at Hogwarts. You will always be welcome here."
Vesey smiled gratefully.
Actually, I can’t help complaining inwardly.
He’s probably trying to keep me right under his nose so he can monitor me.
Although she was behaving like a victim now, Dumbledore had met plenty of actors over the years. Naturally, he wouldn’t believe her so easily.
He probably believed that only time could reveal a person’s true nature.
Not to mention the Diary System.
That thing would definitely make Dumbledore wary.
Vesey understood this very well.
Besides, how could she possibly complain about getting to live at Hogwarts?
Harry and Voldemort had both wanted nothing more than to stay at school when they were students!
"Well, child, you’ve had a long day. You should get some rest. Severus will take you to your room, won’t you?"
Dumbledore looked at Snape.
Snape nodded.
"Yes."
They said they were taking Vesey to find a room, but obviously, the room had already been prepared long ago.
Snape took her to the Slytherin dormitory.
"You’ll stay here. I’ll take you shopping tomorrow."
After thinking for a moment, he called out again:
"Come out, Colma!"
A creature with long ears and wrinkled skin suddenly appeared in front of Vesey.
It was about the same height as Vesey, and its head was respectfully bowed.
"Professor Snape, do you have any orders?"
Snape pointed at Vesey beside him.
"She is Vesey Potter, Harry Potter’s twin sister. Whenever she calls your name, come out and do whatever she asks."
He pointed at Colma and explained to Vesey, "Colma is a house-elf. If you need anything, just tell her."
She?
So this is a female house-elf?
Snape is actually this considerate!
Vesey obediently nodded, said goodbye to Snape and Colma, and went to take a bath.
As soon as she came back, she fell onto the bed and immediately fell asleep.
At the same time.
Dumbledore’s Office
Snape was staring at Dumbledore without backing down.
"This matter cannot be revealed. Vesey doesn’t know anything. She’s still just a little girl. I won’t agree to making her face all of this!"
Dumbledore looked at him with a headache.
They had merely been discussing how they should reveal Vesey’s identity.
Yet the moment he brought it up, Snape had immediately rejected the idea.
"Severus, you must understand that this cannot be hidden. Her identity has already been recorded in Hogwarts’ admission records. Even if we don’t tell anyone, the information will spread very quickly."
Snape remained silent.
After a long time, he asked quietly, "Can’t you really keep it hidden?"
Dumbledore shook his head.
"It can’t be hidden. If that thing can tell us, it can tell other people as well. Who exactly do you intend to hide it from?
"Voldemort? He may already know about it. That thing might have found him already!
"Have you forgotten what the Muggle police said today? They began investigating the orphanage three days ago. And three days ago was precisely when we first saw that thing."
Snape frowned.
"Then tell Potter’s friends!"
he said expressionlessly.
Then he stood up and walked out.

Hermione was watching the television as a news report played.
«**"Today, the police arrested a large criminal organization. According to the caller, all kinds of horrifying illegal activities were taking place within the organization, and the police have now uncovered the evidence.
"Thanks to the caller, 123 orphans have been rescued from Angel Baby Orphanage. This is a group that..."**»
As Hermione watched the news, the anxiety she had been feeling gradually disappeared.
The girl named Vesey should have been rescued, right?
I hope that devilish diary never appears again.
But the scene that had happened that day after she read the diary seemed to replay itself in front of her eyes.
That seemed to be her future self.
Was she really going to kill herself?
For that girl?
It was so bizarre that no matter how much Hermione thought about it, she simply couldn’t believe it.
