Hogwarts: I Am an Exemplary Wizard
Chapter 1241: Enthusiastic Friend
“If you think it’s too little, you can report me…”
Looking at the smiling Kael, Willie Tom’s back was instantly drenched in cold sweat.
Even though it was a warm August, and he was inside a room, he could only feel a biting cold.
It was his intuition warning him.
Some wizards have peculiar talents, like being able to change their appearance at will or speak with Fantastic Beasts; Willie Tom had this kind of talent too, his perception ability for danger was much sharper than ordinary wizards.
This ability had saved his life many times.
Willie Tom indeed had the thought of revealing Kael’s presence here to the Auror, so that he could both clear his own suspicion and receive a substantial reward, why not?
In fact, that was exactly what he did.
Willie Tom had it all planned out, first to delay a bit over the price issue, then quickly complete the transaction once he felt the timing was right, even if he lost some money, it didn’t matter, as long as the person before him was caught by the Auror after leaving his shop.
By then, the money from selling the Dragon Egg would be in hand, even if exposed, he just had to deny it vehemently, plus with the merits of reporting, the Auror surely wouldn’t make things difficult for him.
Moreover, if this person was captured, he could get a full reward of one hundred Galleons, and even if he luckily escaped, he could still get thirty Galleons for the clue fee, a fail-safe profit, even a double win… yes, he would win twice.
As for integrity… for a client who likely wouldn’t return to Diagon Alley, what use did such a thing have? Better to maximize his interests.
But now, looking at the smiling Kael and the constant chill from his back, Willie Tom’s brain overwhelmed by Galleons finally stirred a little.
He finally remembered, that the person before him wasn’t a harmless little lamb, but rather a dangerous figure who had killed five wizards and managed to escape smoothly.
Willie Tom considered himself unafraid of Hokuriken, but their strengths were about equal; if this person could kill all the wizards including Hokuriken in a one-on-five situation, he could naturally kill him easily too.
Willie Tom’s heart began to pound violently, especially seeing Kael playing with his wand, his legs grew somewhat weak with nervousness.
His intuition told him that perhaps the Auror would come and catch this person later, but he would definitely be killed.
What to do!
Willie Tom regretted immensely… it was all Kael’s fault, his gentle, harmless appearance, and the carefree spending style made him subconsciously ignore the potential danger of the other person.
Luckily, the other person hadn’t realized his true intent, just thought he wanted to raise the price, there was still a chance to turn back now.
Willie Tom took a deep breath, forcing himself to calm down.
“Why would I think it’s too little, didn’t we agree?” he straightforwardly placed the Dragon Egg on the table, “Now it’s yours.”
“Oh?”
Kael raised his eyebrows, “The Auror shouldn’t be coming this quickly, right? Aren’t you going to delay a little longer?”
“What are you talking about, I don’t understand.” Willie Tom’s heart began to race, “What Auror, why would they come to Diagon Alley… but you’d better be careful, the big figures behind Hokuriken don’t seem to want to let you go.”
“Really?” Kael took two steps forward, standing in front of the painting serving as a safe, reaching out to touch the frame, “Then can you tell me where the person on this painting went?”
“He might have… well, gone to another frame.” Perhaps because Kael had his back turned, Willie Tom saw an opportunity, he carefully slipped his hand quietly into his pocket.
“Leaving so many valuable things, gone to visit?” Kael said with slight amusement.
He peeked inside, in the grid behind the painting, was a gold diadem and a gem the size of a chicken egg, all extraordinarily valuable.
With an outsider like himself in the room, the painting acting as a lock happened to be elsewhere?
Even Neville couldn’t believe such a poor excuse, right?
Connecting with previous words, Kael could already conclude that the painting had gone to deliver a message; soon the Auror would encircle the place tightly.
It’s only natural, with five wizards dead, this storm was clearly not going to conclude quickly.
Just not sure how much bounty the Ministry of Magic offered, that made this proprietor take such a risk to report him.
“Stupefy!”
A shout came from behind.
Kael seemed not to react, not even turning his head.
“Succeeded!” Willie Tom’s heart leaped with joy.
He hadn’t expected things to go so smoothly, at this distance, it was simply impossible for this person to retaliate with a wand.
Maybe he was overthinking, such a slow-reacting person, how could he have killed Hokuriken and his men? Certainly, it must have been other wizards, then pinning the blame on this affluent wizard.
But what did it matter, the Ministry of Magic had already deemed him the culprit.
Once stunned by the Stunning Spell, he could take all the money and bought goods from him, then hand him over to the arriving Auror, exchange for a hefty reward, not wasting a thing.
Such a wealthy wizard, how much could he earn this time? A thousand Galleons? Two thousand Galleons… or even more.
